Pokemon Go (1 Viewer)

I heard somewhere that you can only do that trick a set number of times. Don't remember where and don't know how many times.
I have used it 6 times and it's never failed. Every time I make sure:
• No other characters have that name (even evolved ones)
• Spelling/capitalization is accurate
• I change name, exit app. Restart app.. then convert.

I have like 70k in stardust...maybe I should do some leveling too
It's ideal to hold off until guys are strong... I'm 22 and things are slowing for me so I went ahead and maxed Vapes since they have great moves. My snorlax has 2nd tier moves so I'm leaving him as is and waiting for a better one. There are two places I go where I can hit 10-12 stops nearby within a 5 min window, and there is one area at that each location with 3-4 stops in range of each other that are usually double/triple lured... meaning I can rack up dust quickly. I'm down to 40k now after a bunch of leveling last night. Hoping to run it up to 100k now.

And just to be sure - if all three of my current guys get booted from gyms before the end of today - would my timer reset so I could implement this strategy on my way home?
When your guys get booted, the timer will continue to count down. You can implement the strategy once the timer runs out.

I haven't heard about a number limit, the way I think it works is that you can't do two of the same type until you complete the "set". If you started with Rainer, you need to evolve a Sparky and Pyro before the naming trick works again for Rainer. And if someone says they did two Rainer in a row then they got lucky on the second one because it was random (it's just a 1 in 3 chance anyway).

The nearby bug needs to be fixed soon. Spent 10 minutes trying to find a Snorlax that was 1st row 1st position and couldn't find it.

Confirmed.  All my buys got booted, so my timer has a zero in the middle, but still like 16 hours to go.  Thanks again for explaining that to me, I've been doing it wrong the whole time.  I can get into town somewhat early in the morning and place a few guys in gyms, then hit the collect with maybe 4 or 5 guys all in at once.

Not true at all... 90% of gyms I encounter only have 2-4 guys on them (usually 400-1600cp range) and are easily taken down by anyone with a decent starting 6. The myth that you have to be elite to take gyms is wrong. Get out there and try.. It's quite easy as long as you're not trying to take big stronghold and hotly contested gyms
The think to keep in mind is that you need to deplete the gym's prestige points. That could mean beating the gym several times until it's down to zero. But as long as you're stocked with revives and potions, you should be fine.

these evolve animations can suck a ####.  Just popped a lucky egg and don't think I will even make it through my pidgeys

Evolve animations are a hair under 30 seconds... too long I agree. You can evolve about 60 items TOPS if you're really moving and don't get any hangups.

I got kicked 4 times during my lucky egg (first times I've been dropped from the game in a while).  i had a number of others to evolve and had 30 pidgeys to evolve, and I think I got them all evolved in the time limit, but I did not have time to go back and transfer all my excess pidgeottos for more candies and evolve a few extra.

They need a feature that lets you click all the pokemon you want to transfer and just do them in one click.  Takes way too long and is super tedious transferring 50 rattattas and pidgeys

I've become quite good at predicting what will hatch from my eggs. It's pretty easy, really - just guess the ####tiest pokemon possible. My last 3 hatches have been Pidgy (2k), Eevee (10k!), and Pidgy again. 14 km over the last 36 hours to get some things that are usually right by my house.

:towelwave:

Eevee are not a bad hatching if you're looking for power....
1) They tend to be high CP versions
2) They come with a ton of Eevee candy
3) They are easily (25 candy) upgraded to some of the most powerful characters in the game
4) They have very high IV (initial value) compared to wild caught ones. IV is a hidden random number that dictates how powerful the character is / can become.

Yeah swimming in eevee over here. Saw a picachu on the radar just as I was leaving for lunch but couldnt find it during a quick drive around the parking lot.

Got a growlithe last night dropping an incense from my couch

Eevees spawn in my house.
They spawn at our barn.

There are 3-5 Pokémon that are spawned at our barn every time I drive past it.  Leave for work in the morning, stop and collect.  Get home from work, stop and collect.  Wait a half hour, go back and collect.

It's mostly Pidgeys, Rattatas, and Weedles, but I do get Nidorans, Zubats, Paras, Gastlys, and Eevees on a pretty regular basis as well.

Yeah, probably a rural thing.  My yard/house spawns eevees, pidgeys, rattatas, weedles, zubats, spearows regularly and occasionally venonats, ekans, kakuna, caterpie, paras, poliwags.

Once every couple days I get a Jigglypuff, Bellsprout, Abra, or Nidoran.

So uh, how far have you all gone, as far as walking on other people's property? Saw a Haunter on pokevision about 30 min ago (never seen one here before), but wasn't able to find it from the sidewalk - didn't want to be that guy who stands in someone else's driveway to catch pokemon, so it expired and I was out of luck.

Pidgy and Rattata are the most common here by far. Others that spawn frequently are Ekans, Sandshrew, Geodude, Eevee, Paras, and Mankey. Bone dry here, so haven't caught a single Magikarp.

Down in New Orleans my hotel was right on top of a frequently-lured pokestop, and I caught at least 35 or 40 doduo just from my room.

Whats the best tips for fighting?  I know about the dodge when the yellow flash hits the screen.  What's the trick to attacking?  Just tap the other character?  How do you do a primary attack vs a secondary attack?  I feel like an idiot standing here swiping and tapping the screen over and over.  There has to be something I'm missing.

Oh...nothing but Rats, Pidgeys, and Weedles near me.  Altho I did find a park where Magicarp and Pickachu's run free.  I've been there twice this week just walking and picked up quite a few of those.

Has been covered about 1x per page for the last 20 pages or so    But here are the basics:

• Opponent opens with two immediate attacks, then attacks once every couple seconds after that, dodge accordingly
• Yes.. you generally just want  to spam attack with rapid tapping, mixed with dodging. Special attacks usually take too long.
• IF you must special attack: watch meter under life fill up while tapping. When full, press and hold screen until it narrows, then release.

Did they change the positioning on the map. Use to be upper left was closest. Now, everything close is bottom right. Same for anyone else?

Eta)now stuff is popping up right in front of me that is not even on the map

Doesn't work very well here for some reason. I am constantly finding pokemon that aren't listed on that site by me. Sucks.

I think the flaw with pokevision is that it seems to only work where there are a lot of players of pokemon go. Check out a nearby college campus, or some popular downtown areas and you'll see the map is lit up with pokemon (you have to click numerous spots for the images to populate).  Maybe they are getting some sort of ping off all the active apps in the area?

Unfortunately, in it rarely shows anything in my neighborhood, including the stuff on my radar.  I have gone to the areas that show a ton on the map and had success locating what's on the pokevision map.

Is it a flaw with pokevision or the game spawns more where more people are?

Just tried the Rainer with a 554 Eevee...gave me a Jolteon :kicksrock: I had 2 Vaporean, 1 Jolteon and 1 Flareon in my inventory. I renamed the Eevee to Rainer. Killed the app and restarted and then evolved...no bueno.
