Google is never as on the ball as Apple is regarding this sort of thing.
Yah, I'm done with the game as well. I got to level 35 via blatantly cheating and never received more than about an hour soft ban. Just sat at the same 4 pokestops, spinning pokestops, without ever moving or attempting to catch pokemon. Just non stop pokestop spinning 24/7. I apparently don't sleep either, and every now and then I'd have a soft ban, but until they crackdown on gps spoofing,I play a lot less than I used to, now. A lot of that has to do with tracking, and a lot to do with the skyrocketing difficulty of catching 'mons. I'm definitely done feeding money into the game (deposited $40, which I got refunded by Apple after this latest update).
Sample size of 1... but that's where I am.
This is correct. Awhile back I posted where I was watching the response that the app was getting, and every single pokemon was hardcoded to "appear" 200m away (3steps) once it became one of your nearby. It fixed the server issues, because they didn't have to do this calculation anymore, but made tracking impossible. If you read the Forbes article is suggests that the footprints are the main reason the servers couldnt accommodate the demand. During the beta, the app listed how many meters each poke was away. They quicly realized how much of a drain that was and went to the footsteps
Then they saw what that did
Decided to play around with the API and found the 3 step bug issue with the radar.

Every single pokemon is coming back as 200m. So the issue is on the backend, not like the frontend is doing a bad conversion of distance into steps. EVERYTHING comes in as 200m away.
Literally several billion dollars of untapped revenue. I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo and a partner swooped in to try and save the day. Niantic is an absolute disaster, always has been. It's actually amazes me they were left with the responsibility to create this game. Their last game, also based on exploring/servers/gps had all of the same issues in a way. They solved zero problems, ended up with massive amounts of cheaters, and outraged the community as well by screwing the honest players over with poor updates and fixes to problems non that didn't exist while leaving the major problems unattended to. Sounds just like this game. This was on page 3, last post 7 hours ago. Says all you need to know. This could go down as the single worst business decision in the history of the world.
Yeah I was getting it before the update as well but it's far more frequent now.Has anyone else been getting GPS tracking lost since the last update? I'm getting it a ton. Combined with all the other issues, I'm just about done with this game, too.
Honestly this has me almost as pissed as the tracking system. They actually took the skill out of the throws and also made a CP 200 Pidgey feel like I was trying to catch a Charizard, not to mention the whole catching takes longer and I'm still not getting bonus XP like some other are for great throws.Pretty pissed a Niantic, and hope they listen to customers and work this out, but update makes it really hard to catch anything with regular Pokeballs, even after raspberries. Often after 4-5 balls they poof and diappear. Seems designed to sell more Pokeballs. Yet another feature sucking out what had been fun.
Yeah, start hatching now for the XP boost, but don't power up the ones you hatch. You'll find higher cp of the same guy somewhere down the line.I got three eggs. Should I wait to put them in the incubator? Currently lvl 6. Best Pokemon is 152 evovled pidgey tks to rascal jr.
There's no real reason to hold onto them. I have an egg in the incubator at all times. The egg spots fill up quickly. I'm always trying to clear them out to make room for the possibility of getting a 10k egg.I got three eggs. Should I wait to put them in the incubator? Currently lvl 6. Best Pokemon is 152 evovled pidgey tks to rascal jr.
Same, but I understand why they don't allow it. Everyone would dump their 2km eggs in favor of 10km eggs. Right now all 9 of my eggs are 2.0km. Have walked 69km and have yet to get a 10kI wish we could dump eggs.
And I thought my luck was bad. At 78k, just 2 of my 64 eggs have been the 10k variety.Right now all 9 of my eggs are 2.0km. Have walked 69km and have yet to get a 10k
No reason to wait, it is believed that the contents of your egg (including CP and level) are determined when you acquire it, not when it is hatched.I got three eggs. Should I wait to put them in the incubator? Currently lvl 6. Best Pokemon is 152 evovled pidgey tks to rascal jr.
10 pokes from a lure and incense. And thats the thing. When I was at the beach last week, it was like the jackpot. If you live in an area that has no pokemon then losing pokevision and all semblance of a map is a huge deal. You caught more on a walk than I did with a lure and incense. We must live in the luckiest neighborhood ever. We have two nests nearby - usually 4-8 Pokemon in each - and just stumble upon several other that randomly pop up. In an hour's walk this morning, we got five Pidgey in the 100-250 range, a 405 Exeggcute, a 289 Horsea, two Oddish (one 411), two Venonat (one 482), a 488 Bellsprout, four other random Pokemon, and several other low-CP Pokemon that were transferred - all while hatching a 237 Diglett, a 500 Paras, a 536 Goldeen, and a 753 Growlithe. Plus, we got to chit chat about video games and life. It was glorious.
I had two 10k eggs before level 5 on the new character I had to start today, three of them before level 5 on my original character, just lucky I guess, but nothing good has ever come out of them. And I thought my luck was bad. At 78k, just 2 of my 64 eggs have been the 10k variety.
I'm still thriving on eggs though. On tonight's jog/hatchfest, I got two new ones (geodude and lickitung) and encountered another new species in the wild (Cubone).
It definitely effects CP. Not sure if it effects type, but I suspect it does.Does your character level affect what hatches at all?
Same here, pretty obvious from the beginning that it wouldn't have staying power unless they added some other features. I've reached the "boring" stage where it's so rare to find any new creatures, and my one last hope of some excitement yesterday - hatching a 10k egg - was a huge letdown when a second Hitmonchan popped out.As I expected, a month long fad.
There clearly is a pattern to how they appear. It seems around 9 AM we get Pikachu's around our house. Then there is this lake right by us that has Bulbasaurs aplenty. It figures as soon as I found out about Pokevision, it got shut down literally 2 days later.
Oh well. In other news I think there is a Bulbasaur nest that has popped up by my house (have caught 2 nearby my house in past couple days).![]()
Asian bot farmers can flip a level 31 account to you for 10 bucks. They can make a level 31 account every 24 hours. And they geo spoof it with 100% of all released poke.
Nope, you get a nearby list that may or may not be accurate with zero ability to try and find anything on the list.So is there no tracking capability any more at all?

Last night I had 7 out of my nine as an unknown character in the "nearby" list and it looked to be an Electrabuzz. They were constantly shuffling around as I walked, but never could find any of them. Are the pokemon shown on the nearby list actually nearby or do they just put random #### in there now?
that "it's cheating!!!"Not sure how it's "cheating" but without some type of tracker it's killed the fun for us.Let's be honest here.... we lost pokevision because there were so many peoplethat "it's cheating!!!"
Thanks a lot cry babies. You ruined the game.
Just noticed the same. So what's the point of throwing a nice/great throw? They are supposed to increase the catch rate but I am not even sure if that's the case since they break out of these shots often.sartre said:I'm not getting my XP bonuses today for nice/great throws
I completely agree. I think many of the people who wereHawks64 said:Not sure how it's "cheating" but without some type of tracker it's killed the fun for us.
about pokevision were single digit level players, where the game is still new and things like catching a pidgey is still fun. After getting to higher levels seeing another pidgey gets annoying. Granted I still catch pidgeys for the strategy of leveling up fast, but even with that purpose in mind I still
every time I see one.Yea, so hatching them at level 5 was a waste, their CPs were in the 100s.Buckychudd said:It definitely effects CP. Not sure if it effects type, but I suspect it does.
