My son will tap the stop just before it's in range. Seems to work well up to 40 MPH or so.On my way into work, I swing by a a run of pokestops, it seemed to me a little harder to collect while driving.Maybe that's a good thing.

You can "play", but you won't get any credit for distance traveled (for hatching eggs). Also, the odds of you finding any pokemon in the wild is roughly 0% going that fast.My son has used it plenty of times in a car going way over 20mph. Was there a change with last night's update?
True regarding the eggs but not true regarding finding Pokemon--at least before the update. I don't know if that's changed since last night. He's caught hundreds of Pokemon in the last several weeks in the 3000 miles of driving my we've done. Above 65 mph, it's possible but difficult to catch them but below 65, it gets progressively easier as you get closer to 20.You can "play", but you won't get any credit for distance traveled (for hatching eggs). Just saying you'd have caught far, far more had you walked that exact same distance. Currently the game "pings" your location every 10 seconds. If anything is within range of you when it pings, the creature shows up on the game. At 60 mph, you go 880 ft in those 10 seconds (roughly 3 football fields).True regarding the eggs but not true regarding finding Pokemon--at least before the update. @ the thought of walking 3000 miles in a few weeks. Try restarting the game. Not sure what's going on here. I downloaded the update this AM and I'm at an amusement park with several poke stops..... I haven't had one sighting in 2 hours. The stops work but no Pokemon to be found....
I wonder if the update made changes to the amount of Pokemon rendered by pokestops
Probably was just frozenI noticed driving downtown this morning, where I can usually hit 8-9 Pokestops because it is always stop and go getting into my garage, that the Pokestop would Appear and spin, but the picture would be blank and no balls would come out.
If that indeed is a deterrent feature to stop playing and driving, that's fine, but it sort of sucks for passenger who might want to play.
app has to be open, yesI walked probably 20 miles on a recent trip and this thing registered like 3km. Do you have to be actively playing the game while walking?
They should integrate it with the built in pedometer on most phones...mire accurate.
I leave the game open and phone in pocket with screen dim/sound off when I'm just walking. Check the phone every block or so to make sure I didn't close out of the game, or see if a pokemon appeared.I walked probably 20 miles on a recent trip and this thing registered like 3km. I can't believe your game is acting correctly.Update... 4 hours 2.5 Km zero sightings. Have opened and closed and #### off the phone completely and rebooted..... Nothing
picked up a ton of experience and balls though.

I've been sitting here for 3 hours with it open and only found a 246 polliwag.Just caught a 800-something CP Charmeleon at my desk.
I think the problem is you're walking around. Sit still. Laziness > Effort IMO.
Sit stiller, IMO.I've been sitting here for 3 hours with it open and only found a 246 polliwag.![]()
Damn Restless Leg Syndrome! it's scaring them all away!Sit stiller, IMO.
) so I'm not totally screwed.Maybe this is pokemon 101, but are pokemon more plentiful around pokestops? The main difference between urban and rural locations is the number of stops. Without the stops, how does the game determine how the pokemon are distributed/spawn/nest etc.?Can't imagine how easy this game must be to play when you're in a big city. My little dinky NJ suburb has like 5 pokestops within 1/2 a mile or so (I've been taking a slightly different route home from work so I can hit 3 of them at the traffic lights) so I'm not totally screwed.
But then this afternoon I drove through another town with more of a main street type of area. There were like 25 stops visible at one point when I stopped at a light. Just ridiculous.
I'm talking more about getting supplies, but in my experience yes. When I get to the corner near my house that has 2 stops, something almost always spawns. Its usually something lousy like a weedle, but its pretty consistent.Maybe this is pokemon 101, but are pokemon more plentiful around pokestops? There's probably more pokestops and gyms in hell then there are in my neighborhood. And it doesn't sound like heaven would have any. Make your post mortem plans accordingly.
Hard to tell for me. I have a gym and 2 Pokestops across the street from my office. I see a Pokemon spawn every hour at about 10 minutes past the hour while sitting at my desk.Maybe this is pokemon 101, but are pokemon more plentiful around pokestops? Yeah, my WifeUhChoo turned off spawning at my usual pokestop.wonder if a location can "turn off" spawning.
Maybe after a month of this crap they just all needed to go get drunk.Ok - went out for dinner at a brewery down the road. Plenty of beer, plenty of Pokemon.

How long do you suppose this site stays up?Fastpokemap.com
Thank me later
Yeah I have 8 pokestops within a couple blocks of my home. It's very easy for me to restock my supplies if I'm running low. I question whether I would still be playing if I lived in a different area. It has to be extremely frustrating if you run out of balls and don't have an easy way to get more.I'm talking more about getting supplies, but in my experience yes. Stopped to pick up Food at a shopping center last night. Didn't even have a stop, but the second I pulled up SIX pokemon spawned.
No idea, but I'm riding the wave while I canHow long do you suppose this site stays up?
I don't know but it seems like all these sites and apps only work in some places and not others. How long do you suppose this site stays up?
Not exactly sure what you are trying to ask, but the max CP scales with your level. Will every similar pokemon you catch have the same max CP? (IV aside) Regardless of what level you are?
Why would they want to?Ok - went out for dinner at a brewery down the road. Plenty of beer, plenty of Pokemon.

I posted above that there is a website you Can put into your mobile browser that works (or has worked recently): fastpokemap.com - it has been working okay on my iPhone but has worked really good with my iPad. Their Twitter account said this AM that Niantic made some changes to try and thwart the site but I noticed it is working still - I live in suburbs for those of you fellow rural players.does pokevision or any similar app work?
Because I don't want my kid playing Go if I just paid $100+ for amusement park tickets. Why would they want to?
In a situation like this, you could probably not let them have their phones.Because I don't want my kid playing Go if I just paid $100+ for amusement park tickets.
Fair. But the more important angle would be from the park owner. If I own the park I don't want kids playing Go when they could be throwing down $2 a wack to play one of the carnie trash games. In a situation like this, you could probably not let them have their phones.
