Pokemon Go (3 Viewers)

So I hatched a 10km egg today and initially got really pissed.....cause it was an Eevee.  Something I catch maybe 10x a day.  I looked at it's stats with an IV calc, though, and it's 100%.  Yeah, not as ticked anymore.

This may have been asked and answered previously but does the Pokemon keep the same IV level after it evolves?  So, your 100% IV-eevee would be a 100% flareon/jolteon/vaporeon?

Hatched a 10km egg earlier today and got a CP 742 Hitmonlee (I'm near the end of level 18). That's the first 10km egg I've had in about a month.

the game has become very stingy with revives for me. I think I've received two in the last 75 stops I've hit. I like to take two gyms near my office each day, but I'm running low on revives after the battles...

If you swap out / run away before the pokemon dies, you don't need a revive for it.

Ahhhhhhh skdjdjehebeisksjsnwk!!!!!???!!!?!!!

First Snoralax showed up in my neiborhood.   Daughter and I grab phones and jump in the car..... And just like that he was gone.

:(

Went on a walk/pokehunt this afternoon, and was headed home since my phone was at 2%. Suddenly noticed an Aerodactyl shilouette on my nearby, and found it after a bit of running around. Took several tries, but I got it - and my phone died immediately after catching. Probably my first lucky break in the game so far.

If you are training a gym and beat the first guy can you run away and still get the XP points or do you only get them if you get knocked out?

I do that all the time.

If I see a Vaporeon between 1151cp and 1400cp as the lowest pokemon in a gym the same color as me, I train the gym up using by using my 1150cp Victreebel on the Vaporeon and only the Vaporeon. It always beats Vaporeons in that cp range, and then I exit before battling the next pokemon. Because I used a pokemon with a lower CP than the one I battled, I always get 500+ points added to the gym for winning that battle (even though the app says I lost because I exited). I just keep doing that over and over until I can add one of my 2000+cp pokemons to gym. The amount of potions needed is pretty minimal given the advantage Victreebel has over Vaporeon.

On Thursday I did that to a level 8 gym. Had to 8000 points to it to get it to level 9, and added my 2199cp Exeggcutor as the 2nd highest in the gym. Took me 16 battles, and about 800 to 1000 HP worth of potions, but he is still in there and I collect coins and stardust from it every day. I've had pokemon last a couple weeks in gyms doing that.

I found pokemons hatched from eggs usually have high IV.

It sounds like a lot of people got the update with the buddy system yesterday. I was hoping to get it and play a bit before football today. It doesn't seem to be available for me yet  :(

Don't have it yet either. With football tonight and tomorrow, looks like I'll be waiting till Tuesday to really start grinding out those Magikarp candy.

I don't really play, just seen this pretty hilarous pokestop on the way to Destin at a really nice gas station in TN.  You can see the little #teamyellow hashtag towards the hind feathers.  Red & Blue u slippin'!

I'm able to get a few Magikarp a day so I plan to focus on some others that I never see (Charmander, Exeggcute, Vulpix, Dratini)

My plan is the same. I was going to try Grimer first. I've been close to a Muk thanks to two 5k grimer hatches with a good amount of candy but I haven't been able to get the last couple candies needed to evolve. After that I'll probably go with Lapras that I've been dying to power up then either dratini or one of the starters.

FYI - the bed closest to the door in Room 7515 at Nobu Hotel in Vegas has access to two Pokestops and a seemingly endless supply of Mankeys, Meowths, Omanytes, Growlithes, and Kabutos.

Yes, it was.  Became a Jolteon, though.  Was hoping for another vape.
You can pick what it turns into...

If you want Jolteon, name your eevee Sparky before evolving

If you want Vaporeon, name it Rainer

If you want Flareon, name it Pyro

It's worked for me every time.

I have really noticed this as well. It has kind of limited my battling schedule.

It works the first few times you do it.  I've evolved ~15-20 of each by now.  It stopped working once I had 3 of each I believe.

Went to Manhattan this afternoon, figured I'd be able to catch a bunch of cool stuff for the kids.  Couldn't get logged in.  Seems like the authentication servers have been down more often than not lately.

Haven't had any server issues today, but still no update, which is kinda disappointing. They are rolling it out very slowly.

The game servers seem OK, mostly, but the authentication servers have been down for hours (again).  Normally, you probably wouldn't need to authenticate unless, for instance, you let your kids share your phone and switch back and forth between their accounts.

I don't think the authentication servers are owned/managed by Niantic. Google accounts are authenticated by Google's servers. Trainer Club accounts are authenticated by Pokemon's servers. Granted, it all falls on Niantic to make sure the app does what it's supposed to do, but I don't think the Trainer Club authentication servers were designed to handle this much load, so there's probably a lot of negotiating going on as to who's going to pay for the cost of upgrading them to handle the load.

Hatched my 4th 10km egg last night.  Eevee. :bag:

Managed to evolve a Starmie, Slowbro, Tentacruel and Seadra which were new.  106 in Pokedex.

turned it on at home to see if there's room in a gym a few blocks over...Snorlax shadow on the radar!

My bathrobe wearing 9 year old, barefoot 8 year old, and I set out to look. Fast Pokemap confirmed one in the area but didn't pinpoint it. We tried an intersection that spawned a rare one once before. Sure enough! 3 berries and 4 ultra balls bring him home.

Kids were jacked...and I was pretty excited too. good times.

Can we sponsor a marathon runner to carry our phones? I need to hatch some eggs and get some bulbasaur candies.

A really strange thing happened last night.

Was in my kids back to school night. Teacher was going on about some boring thing so I popped Pokemon open. I was indoors and it had transported me to some place that was no where near my kids school. Had a gym and 5 pokestops of places I have never heard of before.

Was like I was in Pokemon Twilight zone

I had the same thing with a 10km egg and initially was upset.  Then I ran it through an IV calculator, and it was 100%.  Check yours.

They must have radically changed the occurrence of 5 & 10K eggs.

In my first 63 eggs I had zero 10K....right now I have three 10K in my hatchery plus another five 5K and only one 2K.

They probably ran the numbers on proportion of 10K eggs and number of incubators purchased.

You're probably just seeing the other side of variance.

Got a Dratini buddy!

Sorry if this has been covered, but do we know how much distance you need to walk for candies?

Edit: Nevermind, looks like it's 5K walked per. Hopefully you get more than one candy at a time! I'm lazy.

They need to fix the tracking.  I saw a Snorlax and a Charizard on my grid last week and walked all over the place before they disappeared.  Haven't really picked up the game since.  Will play again today to test out the buddy system, but interest is waning.

One candy per 1/3/5k walked, depending on what character you have as a "buddy".

I'm using MagiKarp at 1:1 ratio.... he's already found 3 candy today and is 0.2mi from a 4th. I'm guessing with a walk this evening with the GF, i'll get a couple more. Have a 4mi race this Friday that should net 4-5 more as well. Figure I'll net 15-20 by the end of the weekend.

My Growlith only needs 3k. It must scale with the rarity of the pokemon or something.
