Pokemon Go (1 Viewer)

Just tried and failed to catch a Nidoqueen. It broke free and ran away despite razz berries and multiple attempts. It even got away on the other kid's account. Oh well, can't complain with our other recent successes.

Golf course near me changed to a Bulbasaur nest.  fastpokemap showed 7 there at one time yesterday.  I swung by last night and caught 5 and a snorlax spawned nearby.  Caught him after 2 throws and he was 1500CP.  Sweet.

Way into work this morning, map showed a dragonite nearby with only 4 minutes left on the timer..  I tracked it down and it popped up on my screen, but as soon as I clicked on it I got an error as it had just despawned.  Timer  ran out.  So close.  Still waiting on my first one.

Popped a lucky egg this morning to do a bunch of evolves. Figured I might as well do it near a Stop so i could drop a lure as well. What a waste of time that was. like 7 or 8 pokemon popped up during the 30 minutes and they were all super common stuff (weedle, pigey, ratatat and I think 1 Nidoran). Sucks.

When I use my lucky eggs, I just use them just to evolve. Depending on how many new Pokémon I'm evolving, I'll get anywhere from 65-75 done with everything being completely organized. Evolved a total of 12 new ones last night. Believe I did 73 in total. That's put me at 112/112 and into level 25

My son caught a Snorlax the other day and almost had a heart attack because he was so excited. Was in the car with my wife, she thought there was something wrong with him, scared the crap out of her.

fastpokemap still works for the time being. Will likely be shut down soon.
Holy ####!  I tried this site before when someone posted it and it didn't work at all for me.  I tried it again based on your post and found like 5 new things including a Dragonite!  Thanks for posting this.

Does it seem to anyone else that Pokemon are particularly dickish on any given day?  Some days I can catch anything I want with a single ball.  On other days, anything that I try to catch (even the simplest little things) will break out of multiple balls and razzberries.   It completely random days, but it is sink or swim.

Yeah, i saw a venusaur, but it only had 40 seconds  left and  i couldn't find him quick enough. :(

I'm finally to a point I can battle almost any gym.  I've got like 50+ 1,000 CP Pokemons.
I'm mostly there as well. I'm just happy to have something I should be able to use that you don't see every day. The majority of my top CP pokemon are the same ones that you see repeatedly in gyms every day (Vap, Lapras, Exeggutor, Gyrados, etc.). I have a Charizard with a high CP but it landed a bad moveset and gets dominated by all the water types occupying gyms. I just can't use it. Muk won't be my best battler but he should be pretty decent

Daughter hatched a Grimer from an egg, something we've never even seen in sightings.  Super excited, she went to appraise it and accidentally transferred it.  Lots of tears.  :(

If they ever get the trading thing up and running she can have one of mine.

what do you guys find the most annoying pokemon to fight in a gym.. ive been using poliwrath
Boring answer but I'd have to say Snorlax. I have a good counter for most of the popular gym guys. Lapras will mow down Dragonites, Exeggutor/Victreebel/Vileplum for water types, Flareon/Charizard for grass types. I don't really have a good counter for Snorlax. They're always a bit of a grind to bring down.

Was at Battery Park in New Castle DE today since I  had a certification class nearby and I have heard it's a Poke' hotbed. I couldn't believe it. Every five feet  i walked had  a pokemon pop up. Didn't catch anything new, but got some hard to get ones like dratini and jynx.

That sucks for her.

I feel like Lappras was kind of a b to battle with when I was trying to train at a gym yesterday.  Didn't have any electric pokemon that would take it down that was 300-400 cp lower.

Been on a nice roll lately. Finally caught a Likitung, and then snagged another a few days later. Also finally snagged an Omanyte. One kid had a Kabuto, but we caught one for both of them the other day. Had a Gengar nearby this morning but couldn't find it before it despawned. I think it was on the golf course. Caught another Snorlax for each kid's account today, so one has four Snorlax and one has three. Also, finally got a 10k egg for the younger kids. We've hatched probably 50 + eggs since our last 10k one. Hoping for something good out of it.

I see lots of new pokes while on my Europe trip on fastpoketracker but can't get them cuz I don't have an international data plan. :(

Where are you finding these Snorlaxes?
It's the weirdest thing. So now we just hatched a 10k egg and it yielded yet another Snorlax. (We were slightly disappointed. Ha!) So our one account now has 5 of them. We found the first one while in Kansas City, while driving toward the Plaza. The other three were all caught locally in our town. (Omaha). I caught two near my work while just randomly checking my nearby list. These two weren't that close together but maybe 10 blocks apart. The other was near our suburban home while driving back from hitting poke stops. I can't explain it.

That said, we don't have a Charzard, Lapras, or Aerodactyl. We do have a Blastoise and Dragonite.

Where are you finding these Snorlaxes?
Ham, one thing I would say that stands out to me is the time of day. Three of them were caught mid-morning around 10 or so and one was caught early afternoon. We have seen three others that we didn't catch. One was weekday afternoon around 2:30, one was a Saturday morning around 8 and the other was about weekday around 8 at night. I don't think they spawn in high traffic times (i.e. Weekdays at 8am, noon or 5 pm.) Hope this helps. Good hunting!

A Snorlax popped up near my house, but #### knows where.  Circled the area for 20 minutes and couldn't track it down.  This tracking system is balls.

I don't even bother looking for anything on my sightings list. It's too hard to track them down. I just catch stuff that I walk into. When I see something I really want I'll fire up fastpokemap and try to track it down that way.

This.  It almost makes the game too easy if you are in a large city and have some time on your hands.  Since I started using the site I've caught a Nidoking, an Aerodactyl, 2 Onix and 3 Dragonites.  I've seen 3 Snorlaxes and a Gyarados but never close enough to get to.

Earn a New Capture Bonus to Increase the Odds of Catching Rare Pokémon

Trainers,

We want to give you a sneak peek of a feature coming soon to Pokémon GO. We are adding a new feature which grants a catch bonus when you earn medals based on catching certain types of Pokémon (Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.). These new bonuses will give you a better chance of capturing Pokémon with a related type. For example, as you reach a higher tier for the Kindler Medal, your bonus to catch Fire-type Pokémon such as Charmander, Vulpix and Ponyta increases.

Trainers can work their way to a new tier by catching many Pokémon of the same type. If a Pokémon has multiple types, your bonus will be the average of your bonuses for each type. For example, Pidgey is both Normal and Flying type. Your bonus in this case would be the average of your Normal-type and Flying-type bonuses.

Look forward to this new feature coming soon!

I had a good weekend playing. I made it to level 25 and I hatched my third Lapras as well as my first Chancey and Porygon. My Muk is now up to 1701 CP and able to do pretty well in gyms.

Caught a wild Weezing as well as a Tangela for my son. Those were both new for us. His 10k egg hatched an Onix which he already had, so pretty disappointed there.

In my weekly Snorlax update I caught yet another one for both kids' accounts. The younger kids' account now has six Snorlaxes on it. (One was from an egg.) No Lapras, Charizard, or Aerodactyl though. Have never seen them nearby.

Hit level 29 over the weekend.  Getting to 30 will be a grind (350k points needed).  Am I correct that once you reach level 30, you're catching "the strongest" pokemon around?

The pokedex is now showing stuff we see in gyms. Speaking of which, we saw a Mr. Mime in a local gym, so he's on our "seen" list.
Yeah this is freaking my 7 year old out for some reason. He hates it.

Just got a new phone on Saturday and if it doesn't improve the GPS tracking for the game, I'm done. Played 15 holes of golf on Friday and had the game running in my bag (had a pull cart) the entire time. Got credit for a whopping .2 kilometers.  Not 2 kilometers,  2 10ths of a kilometers.

If I'm not going to be able to hatch eggs or earn candies with the buddy system,  there's no point in playing anymore. No big deal though.

Yeah I'm pretty sure pokemon from eggs hatches are the strongest possible at level 20 and pokemon caught in the wild are strongest at level 30.

Level 30 is pretty much my end goal. I don't see myself playing much beyond that. I'm not that close though. Even at level 25 I'm only about a third of the way to the total xp required for level 30. I always forget how large the difference is in player level after 20

Finally getting the hang of this.  Up to level 19.  Finally have a Rainer at 1547 I've been able to win a few gym battles with.

Just caught a Exeggute, cp513, is this one I should go ahead and evolve?

You'll catch larger CP ones later on.  I've got one with CP 741, and I may throw it away as I've got stronger ones I need to evolve first (then level up).  If you're not doing much gym battling (or not doing enough to need more than what you already have), you can wait.
