almost every gym I see now is level 8 to 10. Not a fan of this - the game should now be about battling for territories...maybe even finding teammates to take down gyms together. There should be rolled up stats to show gym ownership percentages locally or by region...something that keeps the user engaged once the Pokedex is over 100.
That's pretty impressive. I have a 2300 CP Lapras sitting near the top of a level 10 gym. I think that one will last for a while. Other than that my guys tend to get knocked out of gyms within a couple hours.
Trading would be interesting. I have to imagine that will need to come at some point. I can't think of a good way to add it though without a ton of restrictions (what pokemon you can trade, who you can trade it to, how many times can a particular pokemon be traded, etc).
Charmander here - need 85 candies and I almost never see them around. I'm pretty close with almost all my other evolves.
Starters would be a good option. I have Charizard but still need Venusaur and Blastoise. Venusaur seems like it could do some serious damage in gyms versus all the water types.
Snorlax for me, I typically get in around 5k every day, and need 4 candies for a power up. I've got two currently - one just over 2,500 with maybe 3 more power up remaining, the other is at 2,300 with maybe 6-7 power ups remaining. Once they are maxed out, I'll switch it up.sports_fan said:

This appears to have already started. I had to head to my son's school and just randomly did a scan on the map. Ghastly everywhere. Caught 8-10 in about 5 minutes. Got enough to evolve a Gengar (first one). Saw a bunch of Drowzee and a Hypno for the first time in the wild.sports_fan said:

Yep - days like today are fun. I was already at 124 but managed to add 4 new ones (Gengar, Rhydon, Venusaur and Dugtrio)Two new entries into the Pokedex today. I hatched a Hitmonlee and evolved a Growlithe into Arcanine. Nice way to start off the event
Coincidentally, I'm playing golf tomorrow and plan to have the game running with my portable charger. Curious to see how much I get.
I've had that happen a couple of times but not a lot - both times once it started it was consistent. Just had to leave the gym alone for a long time (maybe even the next day) and then it was fine.
I hatched an Exeggcute from a 5K and got 34 candies. I've got three cp2000+ Exeggutors that I've been wanting to power up, but haven't had the candies to do so. So I was elated to see this. Of course all three are currently in gyms, so I'll have to wait until they get kicked out.
Yup.... it's the egg lottery for the next few days. I just used a few incubators on 2K eggs just to clear them for the candy.
Ouch, that's painful. Yeah, I'm starting to lose interest too. Tons of the same old junky Pokémon each day. Even middle of the road ones seem to break out repeatedly even with good throws on a tight circle. (Is this just a ploy to get us to use up our poke balls?). Eggs hatch mostly junk, even 10 k ones when you do finally get one. Have multiple Pokemon we have never ever seen and will never hatch out of eggs. Idk, the perpetual carrot-on-a-stick is getting a little frustrating.
