I've had about a dozen Pidgeys & Rats pop out of a regular ball and then dart.  Is there a chance these were the Dittos getting away?  I've caught tons of them without getting one.  I have a #### ton of Raspberries.  Should I waste these to try and get the Ditto?

I just kept going after every Pidgey or Ratata I could. It finally worked.

 
Anyone else's nearby scanner update?  As of two hours ago it's working like the scanners in SF.  That is it tells you what's at nearby pokestops.

Yes, that is it. Just started working for me last night, I'm in the DC metro area. Definitely a big improvement, didn't realize that they were implementing something so specific as far as location goes.

Anyone know when the 2nd gen. Pokemon are supposed to start showing up?

 
Anyone know when a critter becomes a ditto?  For example, does a ditto spawn and appear as a rat, or does a rat spawn and after you catch it there's a N% chance that it becomes a ditto?

In practice, if I take my kids somewhere and they both catch the same rat, do they both get a ditto or could it turn into a ditto for only one of them?

If one person catches a pokemon that turns into a Ditto, everyone who catches that same pokemon will have it turn into a Ditto.

When does the rat evolve into the ditto?  I usually catch and transfer...is there a waiting period?

Mine was 173. 

I'm on LV24 now...interest is fading.  Nothing new pops up very often.  Still just Pidgeys, rats and Eevees.  Scyther, Tauros and Tangelas are about the only thing I've caught that was over 1000 CP.

 
I now have the new nearby option and, of course, am confused.  If I click on it and it does the foot prints on the pokestop, do I have to walk all the way to the stop for it to spawn or can it spawn at any time on my way there?  Also, there is a spot o my normal walk where there are 4 stops in a about 150 yards, will nearby show a stop at a time or all stops in range?

To your first question, that just means that the guy is near that stop - so if you're walking towards it from the west and he's on the west side of the stop, he may spawn on your way there.  But if he's on the east side you'll have to walk a bit past the stop before he pops up.

Hmmmmm. I think quite a few people have stopped playing. I'm considering it. The kids have lost most of their interest and I do 90% of it now. They just don't care. We have a 10 k egg going now. I'll hatch that and get whatever piece of junk they've dolled out and then I think I'm out. So tired of seeing junk and that junk repeatedly escaping out of poke balls. (I friggin hate Pidgeys for this reason. Biggest poke ball wasters there are - tight circle, dead center, and pops out time and time again.) It's becoming too much of a time waster and not much fun anymore, which is a sign to me.

 
Rumors are that 100 Gen 2 pokemon are coming out next week.

Also a corporate partnership with Starbuck, making every location a pokestop.

It'd be cool to see some new stuff but I don't really know the Gen 2  pokemon. I hope they somehow keep the generations separate. Allow you to switch between them or something.

 
Fell asleep last night with my phone in a charger and with Pokémon Go open.   I ended up getting credit for .6 miles walked and I hatched a near perfect IV CP711 Grimer.

sleepwalking is fun.

 
 Ow I hate the new tracker.....at an airport and there is a blastoise the next gate over but I can't get through TSA

opened up and saw a porigon (sp) in a cab in Vegas and it clicked on the piggy next to him!

 
Well missed the polygon but I caught my first magmar and omantyte 

also growliths all over the place in Vegas.  Started the day with 1 and 8 candy and I have 47 candy now

Porygons and Magmars have been popping up all over my building. I didn't even know what that thing was until I caught it. Pory's are just so different than any of the other Pokemons---kind of like a paper mache parrot.

 
Vegas is great for Pokémon.   To top it all off I hatched my first Aerodactial at the airport back.

Missed my first Jinx and wasn't able to get a blastoise on the way out..... everything else was gold.

 
Looks like Next Gen are available but only can be hatched.  Looks like a Santa Hat wearing Pikachu can be found too.  The 12" of snow we received yesterday is going to slow me way down on these new, only available for a short time, items.

Maybe so, but there are much more entertaining things to do in Vegas
