Got 4 new ones barely getting off the couch 3 minutes after the update loaded.  Now have a Sentret, Ledyba, Spinarak & a Wooper.  They are all very low in CP, but it was fun to grab a bunch around my house other than rats and birds.

 
don't like the new special item needed to evolve some guys....hit about 40 pokestops and didn't get a single one.....been sitting on porygon and onix candy for awhile now.....

 
They made drastic changes to moves as well. Changed damage output, slowed down/sped up certain moves, changed some 2 bar moves to 1 bar, 5 bar to 3, etc. It looks like one of the biggest changes was to Dragonite as they retired his Dragon Breath, Dragon Claw and Dragon Pulse moves. Gym battles will be very different.

 
With the new fruit I can see needing to upgrade the back pack.  Once you upgrade for 50 items, is it a one and done, or can additional ones for 50 items continue to be added?  Its nice to have 8 new ones around the house.  Just dinking  around yesterday, I am one Ledyba from evolving it.

 
Finally.... the update drops and the first cool thing i catch?    A wild Snoralx.

You can keep upgrading your back pack to add space for 50 more items as often as you want, as long as you have the coins needed. They are discounting upgrades for Pokemon storage for a while (half price) but they don't appear to be discounting upgrades to the back pack at this point. Wish they were since there are now new items (berries, etc.) that consume space in the back pack.

Did not know that...thanks for the tip.  I like the idea of the Pinap Berry.

:thumbup:   buying the upgrade now as the two new fruit will certainly fill it up.  Aleardy have 10 of the newbies including a 1200+ Sudowoodo.

the moves are a lot slower in battle, too. My Gyardos used to snap off bite instantly, but now it takes a moment. I think it's going to make it more difficult to dodge moves from the defender. I only tried one battle, though, so maybe it's just going to take a little practice.

Been hunting for one of the special items all weekend. My kid is a Pokemon expert and really wants the steel Syther. We have the candy but not the item. Probably spun 250 stops...at least we picked up 30 of the new pokes during the walks. 

 
Both my kids got one of the special upgrade items from Pokestops on their "7 day streak" spin.  Maybe that one is guaranteed?  Between the two of them, they only have one upgrade item otherwise, spinning 100+ stops.

innernet rumors is that its 1/100 percentage from the stops...

you guys evolve the evees into espeons or umbreons yet? there is a trick to it

players can now name their Eevee as Sakura if what they want to add to their growing roster of Pokémon is an Espeon. If what a player wants is an Umbreon, then they can name the Eevee as Tamao prior to moving forward with the evolution.
 
 
this trick only works the first time, to have it happen everytime is much more involved by making them your buddy etc.....
 
 

 
Just got like 10 new ones walking around our zoo. The female/male versions of some of them are pretty subtle to catch, but it just adds a challenge to the person who has to collect all of them.

So disappointed though because I was working on a 10k and I hatched a Gen 1 I already had. The special items you need to evolve certain Pokémon are really hard to find--just saying.

I got one too, today on Day 7 of Pokestops.

seems the hoothoot, teddiursa and swinub are very easy to get (best of the commons IMO)

while totodile, larvitar  cyndaquil and chikorita are very hard to come by. only have a couple of each.

Already got the big bear Ursaring evolved and found an ampharos but no mareep...very odd....

no phanpy or houndour yet either....

 
Got a phanpy, cyndaquil  and chikorita today. My daughter already has the cyndaquil evolution.

It seems every other hoothoot turns into a ditto around here.

I evolved a (decent) 543CP eevee into a 1771 espeon, and a (strong) 572CP eevee to a 1246 umbreon.  <_<

espeon seems to be better for evolv

It looks like that's about what can be expected. Espeon has much higher max CP yet Umbreon is somewhat tanky and will last a while in battle. I think they're fairly even depending on what you want - Espeon is probably slightly better though. Both look to be decent but not great for gym battling.

 
Another trick for Espeon/Umbreon: Walk for at least 2 candies with Eevee as buddy. Evolve while still your buddy. If map shows day, it becomes espeon, night it becomes Umbreon.

Without name trick or making it your buddy, it only evolves into the original three.

 
Received a King's Rock at a stop for my day 7 streak yesterday.  Had to Google up that I would have needed to have kept a Slowpoke or a Pollywhirl around to evolve them with the rock.  Any idea if one is better than the other to evolve, and do I just need the rock or a certain number of Pokemon to evolve it?  Looking at my Pollywrath, I need two more Pollywags for a whirl (and, oddly enough, skipped a few yesterday).  Based on what I read above, seems every 7th day something special should show up.  I see I have a Gloom that can evolve on a special item, what else should I be sure I have in case I get other special items.

The gym battles were already pretty worthless, but now with Blissey's, it is pretty much destroyed.

The level 10 gym by me has 3 of them all around 2500 and it just takes too much time to kill them. I have a perfect Vaporeon that does max damage with his special move and it still takes almost all the time to take one down. They inflict minimal damage--you just run out of time even with good DPS attacks.

Yep, Blissey's with hefty HPs are packed in my local gyms. I don't even bother.

 
Have never seen a Chancey spawn or in sightings, not even during the pink event.  Couple from eggs, but that's it.

 
I didn't think I'd be all that into the gen 2 pokemon but I'm having a good time learning about pokemon that I'd never heard of before

 
My 17 year old daughter was really into Pokemon cards when she was young. So it is neat seeing some of these gen 2 guys that I recognize from those cards. 

I want a Houndoom next.

My 20 year old daughter as also WAY in to the cards and sent me a screen short of her Houndboom she nabbed yesterday.  I have more of the Gen 2s (29 at the moment) but she has a few I don't have.  We are ridiculously competitive, so I am back to almost hitting parked cars and such to try and keep up.  I also just crossed into level 24, one ahead of her.  She has a HUGE advantage living on a college campus.  When we walked around there, just about every stop had an active lure so there were Pokemon everywhere. 

 
Got a dragonscale yesterday for a kingdra.

Got the upgrade thing for the porygon today!!

So the seventh day thing is a myth.

Also have gotten 4 10k eggs recently. Stops r spitting them out again

Found a houndour nest near the house now too...hope to have it evolved by sunday

They seem to be coming up a lot for me. I've hatched 3 from 10 km eggs and caught 2 in the wild. Has anyone else noticed an increased frequency in 10 km eggs? I seem to be getting them more often. Although I have been walking a ton lately with Chansey as my buddy and trying to save up for a Blissey (4 candies to go).

Yep. I got. 3 10k sitting in incubators right now. Recent 10k hatches are skymoray. Sodoowoodo. Dratini and stantler
