Starting Coleston with Brees against the 28th ranked Bears SecondaryoverCalvin Johnson with ugh....someone against the 5th ranked Colts Secondary.Swinging for the fences!
I just did this too. Strength in numbers! :headbang: I can chicken out on Sunday and put Calvin in at my flex for Sammy Morris though.

Well I missed this one. Congrats to Colston owners. I benched him for Breaston. *%!!!
I benched him for Bowe this week. Last week I started him for Bowe. The week before I benched him for Bowe. Basically since he's been back, I've started him on the weeks he's flopped and benched him on his good weeks. The guy is killing me.

In the first half, Colston couldn't get open and/or Brees couldn't get the ball to him.

At halftime, I went to bed.

This morning I see 6 for 84 and a TD.

Yeah baby!!!

No kidding! Colston could have had a monster game, but early on, he and Brees just couldn't connect. But hey, 84/1 from my WR3, I'm pretty psyched!

Hard to imagine that most Colston owners who held on to the worthless poo mound actually made the playoffs.
Meh. He's a WR. You can almost always find a one-week fill in WR on the wire. Those who draft well can lose one or two guys from the first 5-6 rounds and not feel it.
:hifive:Sorry you missed the playoffs and want to blame it on a guy who got injured. You should learn the definition of depth.
Thanks for the helpful snarky advice Mr. Kiper, but being a veteran I'm well aware of the need for depth. In fact, my depth is what carried me to the playoffs while this guy was massaging his thumgina all year. Unfortunately, he suckered me into thinking he would do something worthwhile in the playoffs, so I started him over Vincent Jackson last week and he stunk it up again. It's great that he had a good game last night, but the guy is a huge bust this year. The reason most of us drafted him at his high ADP this year was his past consistent production in a pinball machine offense. He's been anything but consistently productive in 2008.

Seriously. Every year one or two of my first 3 picks are busts, but I still usually make the playoffs. The key is you backups and the moves you make after the draft. That's why they call this the Shark Pool and not the Draft Pool.
Of course. You're not exactly breaking any news here. The problem with Colston 2008 is the WDIS problems he created (see: this thread). You can have good depth at the position but if you make the wrong decision at the wrong time, it can end your season. Colston was supposed to be a stud receiver this year. For me, holding on to him for the promise of future rewards ended up creating more problems than it solved.

the dude got hurt :lmao: he did something worthwhile in the playoffs, last night! and will probably have a good game next week!and vincent jackson had a big fat zero the week before last, thats the reason he was on your bench, colston had nothing to do with that.

I actually traded for him late in the season with these two weeks in mind (Chicago and Detroit). The first round of playoffs aren't over yet, obviously, but I'm happy with 80+ yards and a TD from my new #2 WR

Yes, he got hurt, but he's been back for a while now. No excuses. The playoffs were last week, too, and he did nothing. Andre Johnson got hurt last year--a freakin knee injury no less--and he was a beast when he returned, especially when it mattered (wks 14-16).ETA: The reason I had Colston starting was obvious--it had nothing to do with VJax's previous performance and everything to do with Colston's matchup against the Falcons.

Reggie Bush back and Pierre Thomas stepping up is hooking Colston up so he's getting more one on one coverage. Did you see that second TD Moore got vs GB? Colston was running a deeper route and drew 3 Green Bay defenders leaving the entire under route open for Moore to score easily.

Having Bush in there and Pierre running well def gives Colston better opportunities. Look at the Tampa game, Colston got one look for his 75 yd TD, with Bush back healthy last night Colston got targeted all night.

His targets WERE through the roof. In the first half it seemed to be 10 targets / 2 catches....

I should have started him. Instead, since I was starting pierre Thomas I decided to bench Colston and start A Bryant and Calvin Johnson. The reasoning being, if Thomas went off there'd be no points for Colston. Oh well, hopefully Thomas' monster game will make the decision a little easier to swallow when Johnson and Bryant lay eggs.
