Lot of good choices, but I got to go with Scrubs. Just so many songs placed at great moments.

Though the opening of Season 2 of LOST might be my favorite

Dukes of Hazard. You'd think all those Country Music stars would've learned to avoid Hazard County, else they be playing at the Boar's Nest to work off a speeding ticket.

Didn't watch it much, but my wife did, but Glee did a pretty good job with music. It is basically a TV show like a musical you would see on Broadway. They do a bit of acting and then break out into a song. The difference between Glee and a regular 'musical' is they use pre-existing songs to fit the need of show instead of creating songs. The people on the show can actually sing too.

Scrubs did music so well, whether for fun moments, or sad. Air band - More than a Feeling, fit the whole episode perfectly. Book of Love to finish the run, etc. Music made a great show just amazing.

Haven't seen Miami Vice in a long time (obviously) so I can't remember much musically from it other than the theme (which was awesome).

WKRP and Freaks and Geeks were the first to come to mind, but Scrubs did a great job as well.

Parenthood, as far as current shows, regularly plays music that fits perfectly.

not really quite in line with the topic because the show did not routinely do this, but the one use of a song that has always stuck with me the most was The West Wing's use of Brother's in Arms (Dire Straits) in the one episode with the funeral and the press conference about re-election

made the ending scene very powerful

I don't think most people know this show, but Supernatural always had great music. If you liked rock/classic rock, they used a ton of great songs and usually placed them very well.

I found this: http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/supernatural/articles/31282/title/list-songs-per-episode

I'll try and find the one song/scene that I thought the music was awesome in, so good I actually remember thinking that the music was perfect.

ETA: Found it: LINK

How is Miami Vice not winning this poll unanimously?
WKRP actually played music - they were a radio station, after all.
Yup and I loved that show. But my question still remains. I don't think there's a show in TV history that used music better than Miami Vice did.
Probably 1A and 1B for me.

The first couple of seasons of Rescue Me did a very good job.

It's been.years since I've seen an episode, but I seem to remember Northern Exposure doing a great job of conveying an emotion or feeling through music.at the end of many episodes.

I voted Glee. I don't like the show, but from what I can tell >50% of the show is just popular music covers so it has to win. If not that, then Miami Vice because the music was also so embedded into the essence of the show.

Quantum Leap - great job of including music from each time period.

Especially the episode "Good Morning Peoria" where Sam played a Disc Jockey.
