*** Wednesday Update *** RB Steven Jackson (STL) Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the Rams front office spoke with Steven Jackson prior to the trade deadline to assure him that the team never considered moving Jackson despite rumors to the contrary.

God I feel sorry for the guy, I bet he was thinking he could end up somewhere they could win a game this year. Then he gets called into the office and dream crushed...

They've got one good player who is now signed to a monster deal.................not sure why anyone ever even started the rumor in the first place. I also feel sorry for the guy.

Never mind feeling sorry for him - he's making millions. How about us poor owners that have to endure week after week of him not reaching the end zone.

I feel sorry for anyone who is famous, makes tens of millions of dollars, and plays football for a living.

1. Adrian Peterson, MIN 6182. Chris Johnson, TEN 5963. Cedric Benson, CIN 5314. Steven Jackson, STL 5014th in the league and I think you have to regard him as the only true threat on that team, minus your Quarterback throwing 12 interceptions. I have him on 1 team, and I have been a bit frustrated as well but I think he will start to find the end zone, you cant Rush for 80 yards a game and not eventually get a TD...

The Rams are young and are getting close to being a playoff team. They only need to address these things this offseason:

1) QB

2) RT

3) DE

4) OLB

5) DT

6) #1 CB

7) #1 WR

8) Back up RB

I would have been interesting to see what type of player he could have become if Parcells drafted him when he was with the Cowboys. It made so much sense...I couldn't believe it when Dallas traded down.

One thing I think we tend to forget is... the athletes (generally) dont care as much as the fans. Im sure SJax wishes they won more games, but I doubt he even thinks about it very much.

I have a feeling the millions upon millions of dollars de-sensitizes you to losing very quickly.

As a fantasy owner, we feel sorry for you for owning SJax, but dont feel sorry for SJax. He probably doesnt really care.

As Zach Randolph once famously said, "As long as that check is there every month, I don't care what this team does."

lol
You forgot backup MLB - they just traded Witherspoon to PhiladelphiaLOL
Witherspoon was playing WLB this year due to Lariunitus. Speaking of Lariunitus, he is a freaking stud. Great 2nd round pick for the Rams.

xHe should be a Bengal. I've been personally disgusted ever since they traded down to get Chris Perry.

When you're the star player - their only real star now, I guess - there's a lot of pressure on you to win. For the Zack Randolphs of the world maybe it doesn't matter as much. I don't know. But if someone like Jackson is playing hard to succeed even on a bad team I give him the benefit of the doubt. The Rams are actually one of the really bad teams who do look like they care and play hard. KC as well.

dude..that sure sounds like they need a lot...why do you think they are close with all the needs you posted?

Yep! I bet 12 million a year eases the pain of losing very well. I don't know how much a Superbowl ring is worth, but I bet it isn't 12 millions dollars! Also, those who say that "money isn't everything" are usually the ones who already have a load of cash. Just sayin'.

excellent post . . . I couldnt believe it either - they thought Julius Jones was a steal in the 2nd . . . go figure . . .

The better question is why the Rams would want to let him go. For a draft pick or two you PRAY will be as good? There is a reason you don't see blockbuster trades too often, there is little upside for the team with the stud. Unless you got a guy demanding a trade, a locker-room nightmare, or an owner dumping salary, trade just doesnt make much sense.

I know it was a different team, but through 5 games in 2006 (I also know he's played 6 so far this season, but it's still comparable), he had similar yardage numbers and only 1 TD - his owners that season were asking the same question we're asking now, "Where are the TD's?". He went on to score 15 more TDs over the final 11 games. You're right that eventually the TD's should come - perhaps not as copious as that season, but they'll come.

That is the truth!!! If the contract is right all is good.
