Popular TV shows you have no interest in watching (1 Viewer)

I don't like sports, shows about sports, highlight shows, dramas, comedies, anything on a streaming service, anything on a network, Shameless US or UK, Office US or UK, Mad Men US or UK, reality shows, documentaries, adult cartoons, kids cartoons, or any cooking shows.

I really have never liked anything except for Chemical X's episode of House Hunters.
When did GPJ give the keys to Tanner?

Yet you post on a football forum

Yeah that's a pretty polarizing one. I can't think of a show that's given me more gut-busting laughs. Maybe Impractical Jokers.
I think it's the awkward vs. funny quotient. Too much of the former, not enough of the latter for me.

The awkwardness that resulted from Michael Scott's stupidity was the brilliance of the show. He's the funniest character on a sitcom ever for me, even funnier than Kramer. Probably a combination of having worked with a few idiots just like him, plus that just happening to be my favorite kind of humor. Kevin also was hilarious and really underutilized.

Tried Breaking Bad. Premise is so depressing. Can’t get into it.
Walter Whites transformation from the early episodes to late in the series is nothing short of awesome...and as amazing as Cranston is, there are several other great performances and characters. If you bailed early, you cheated yourself out of a really amazing series with so many jaw dropping moments and plot twists.

But, to each their own.

I work/live inside television, and I've never seen and have zero interest in:

Lost

Sons of Anarchy

Game of Thrones

Walking Dead

Modern Family

Big Bang Theory

This is Us

Mad Men

Dancing With The Stars / The Voice / Big Brother. And I will watch some crap reality (Survivor, Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef, Amazing Race), but not these

Real Housewives of Anything

Chicago Fire/PD/Law

Any Law & Order other than the original series

Anything on the CW (Arrow, The Flash, The 100, Supergirl, etc)
This is essentially my exact same list.  I gave Mad Men a brief go, but didn't have the energy to plow through it.  I watched a bit of the Flash with my son, but never really liked it.

Seriously, it is strange how accurate this list is.  Are you in my head?  Except I live/work about as far away from TV/movie making as you can get.

Modern Family is a pretty good show and has attractive women in it.
The older episodes are good but it has been really bad the past 3 or 4 seasons. Time to end it.

I still like Big Bang and the new Sheldon show is decent.

I gave up on Life in Pieces.

Agree with everything regarding Michael but you lost me with Kevin, he was the worst part of the show for me.

I loved when he gave the motivational speech, ran laps around the room and then they show him sitting on the floor throwing up into a wastebasket. :lmao:

This thread makes me realize I don't watch what's popular since I haven't seen probably 95% of the shows mentioned here.

There is so much good tv that I always have shows I'm waiting to see the next episodes and can always find something to watch if bored and feel like it.  That said the number of shows I have absolutely no interest in would take hours to compile and list.

Several people said Breaking Bad was too depressing?  WTF?

Zero tolerance for any reality shows especially Bachelor/Bachelorette.

Ill echo what @TLEF316 said above. Dont see how you can lump them all together? The Kardashians and Alone are both reality shows, but couldnt be more opposite. It's like saying, "I hate all non-fiction books" or "I hate all documentary movies". If the topic interests you, wouldn't you be at least somewhat interested in the reality show about it?
No. Hint: they are all fake.

Not sure what "fake" means in the sense of a competition show. Do the producers of Survivor cast for "characters", potential conflict, etc. Sure. Do they manipulate the game to drive narratives and create what they feel will be interesting (and therefore profitable) television? Absolutely. Its a business after all. You want to tell me that every person who goes on Survivor is an actor or that the events of the show are 95% scripted? Not sure I buy that.

There's no way that show is in the same genre as The Real Housewives of Atlanta.  Its a competition. There's a winner. There's a prize (and the prize isn't a "relationship" like The Bachelor).  Survivor Fans dont watch the show to see "drama". They enjoy watching the competition (physical, mental and social) and strategy.  The people aren't actors, so its technically a "reality show" but its closer to a game show (a very complex one) or something like the world series of poker than Keeping up with the Kardashians.

I’d love to know what the people passing on Breaking Bad, The Wire, and Game of Thrones are watching.
These are all amazing shows, and I am currently slogging my way through all three of them. But there is so much pressure. My friends constantly harassing me about how far I've gotten, plus these shows command your complete attention.

Honestly, I'm more likely to load a bowl, put on a silly comedy series like Red Oaks or Brickleberry and halfway pay attention until I fall asleep.

Like others, I have no interest in The Walking Dead.

I don't have HBO, but I don't think I would watch Game of Thrones even if I did.

Watched a half dozen episodes of Orange is the New Black, but gave up interest.

Watched the first season of House of Cards, but gave up after a couple episodes of season 2.

Loved Breaking Bad. Have watched all seasons twice.

Just started watching the first season of Halt and Catch Fire. So far

Agree with Walking Dead. People swear its a great show, but I just have no interest in the zombie thing.

SoA is just a terrible show. I barely made it through an episode and a half.

I tried both Mad Men and House of Cards and while they were OK, I found them both kinda boring and never made it past season one.

People with no interest in Breaking Bad, GoT, The Wire, and Shamless have no taste.  :P   I suppose you people don't like Dexter either?
I'll tell you what it is for me: I have a hard time devoting significant time to watching shows that peddle in misery. Maybe it's the season of life I'm in being kind of tough, but when I sit down to watch TV, I just have no interest in wallowing in the darkness of Man. My wife loves the 9 different Law & Orders and Unsolved Mysteries and Deadly Women and all that stuff. I just can't do it. It hurts my soul.

So yeah, I watch shows like Modern Family, Big Bang Theory and Goldbergs. I know that they're garbage, but they make me smile or chuckle a few times and bring some light in. I can turn my brain off and pretend that the world is largely good and that everything ends up working out in the end.

for those selling "Modern Family" short, i am here as a convert to say it's a damn good show - through the gift of streaming (Mobdro), this is on a continuous 24/7 loop, so i never had (have) to really search it out and commit ... but i do watch it quite a bit, and it has really grown on me.  always had a disdain for the premise, and never thought i'd cross over, but, i'm now IN - btw, the gay couple is the highlight of the show ... their chemistry is phenomenal

There’s just way too many shows out there to folllow IMO.  I usually end up watching series long after they are in syndication or off the air all together.  If I see a few minutes of a show and my gut says no ####### way, then that’s it unless someone from the innerwebs provides a compelling reason why I should watch it.

That makes sense. Breaking Bad and Dexter especially are both so intensely dark sometimes. Not exactly relax and unwind shows.

I don't really know anything about The Wire, but nothing about it ever caught my interest.

Breaking Bad was just boring. The two leads were morons and each season seemed to be a reiteration (How can we make money fast? Let's make and sell meth! We've pissed off drug dealers and they're trying to kill us! Whew, we barely escaped that situation alive. End season. New season, how can we make money fast? Repeat until they finally die.)

I read the first 3 or so books of The Song of Ice and Fire like 15 years ago, but stopped because Martin was taking forever to write them and I was going to wait until he finished and read them all together. I started watching the show because I remembered liking the books. The show was ok at first, but eventually the only thing I found interesting was the nudity, so I stopped watching. I hope that is just that the story doesn't translate well to the medium, but right now I'm not sure I'll even go back and read the books if he ever writes the rest of them.

It's also a lot of "Look at me, I can drink at the office and smoke on an airplane!"
I'M SURE THERE'S AND EPISODE OF "REAL HOUSEWIVES OF MASSILLON" ON OUT THERE SOMEWHERE FOR YOU.

Mad Men is one of those shows that I enjoyed but rarely recommend to others to watch. It has a narrow appeal and I'm just not sure if someone would like it or not. Unlike Breaking Bad where I tell anyone that hasn't seen it that they should at least watch the first episode. Most people get hooked pretty quick on it.

wonder if this is common amongst the literati set who were exposed to the story via that medium first ... i never read (nor actually heard of) Martin's work prior to GoT, so, it was all so fresh and new and so damn exciting to me.

speaking of being hooked by opening episodes - i decided to finally see what all the hype was about, and there i was, streaming s1e1 ... next thing i knew it was a few hours later and my ####### jaw was still on the floor - the most magnificent piece of TV artistry i have ever had the great pleasure of being privvy to - its a most remarkable slice of pure beauty.
