Possible new front-end for rate-my-team (1 Viewer)

I love the player search function! It is much more user-friendly than the side-to-side boxes/menus. This is a solid improvement.

I like the search much better than scrolling through the lists.

Last year I thought there was a link to enter your 'MyFBG' roster into rate my team. I couldn't find it this year.

Works and looks just fine(aside from what appears to be that awful, awful Myriad Pro font that you guys seem to have fallen in love with).

Not working for me. I've got an "error on page" message in the bottom left. Do I have some setting wrong?
Shoot. I was afraid that might happen. What browser and version are you using?

Excellent addition. I like the idea of the rate my team feature, but it still gives such inconsistent advice that it is hard to take seriously. Look at this write-up for example....

In the opening lines on my team it says this...

"Your receivers are the strongest part of this team and you look good at tight end as well. It's rare for us to endorse a team with weaknesses at quarterback and running back, but we're doing it right here! You should have a contender here. But your margin for error in terms of inseason management could be a bit thinner than some of your competitors'. You must remain committed to finding 2009's emergent players at RB and QB."

Then comes this....

QB Summary:

You don't need us to tell you this, but we'll tell you anyway: Tony Romo should ensure that your production at the quarterback position is among the best in the league. We have him as the #5 QB according to your scoring rules, and we figure he gives you about a 1.2 point-per-game advantage over an average starting QB.

As of now, our projections don't indicate that Matt Moore will be a viable backup quarterback. While the presence of Romo minimizes the need for a top backup, we might recommend taking a quick peek at the free agent list to see if you can find some help. We'll offer some specific suggestions at the end of the report.

Incidentally, Moore has what we project as a good matchup (NO) during Romo's bye.

That is just one example of the contradictory info I see in the write ups. Overall I like the feature, but when it tells me that a team with Tony Romo as the QB has a weakness at QB, I tend to get a bit skeptical.

Thanks, I never thought to get there from that direction. I've been doing what I linked, which works just fine also.

Could there be a radio button added that indicates if it is a dynasty league v. a redraft, and then provide the feedback that alludes to what an owner can expect in terms of upcoming season performance (much like current feedback is) but then give a write up of how the dynasty health of the team is in terms of outlook 2-3 years out? You guys continue to amaze me with the high caliber offerings you provide us customers. Great work.

Feedback welcome. TIA.
Ok, I'll try again. Any chance we will ever see options for IDP rosters? A simple "i don't know" would suffice.
Definitely not this year. At some point in the future, it's not out of the question.
Thank you. I wonder what is the issue with including IDP related things in FBG's tools? FBG claims to have the best IDP coverage, etc, but when it comes to DD, PD, LD, etc, all we get is general DL, DB positions, instead of the DT/DE/S/CB breakdown that is already being projected by 2 of your staffers. Don't get me wrong, I love FBG. There is nobody out there like you guys. But I wish more attention was given to the little IDP details that would put FBG over the top...

How can I include my MFL team in RATE-MY-TEAM?

I can do it with MyFBG.

Myron
This is the thing I'd want to see... there's a way to do it, but it should be obvious from the page. I'll go dig it up and post it here.
Go to your team's page at MFL. In the upper right hand corner, you should see "FBG rate my team". Click.
I just tried both of these methods, but both point to 2011 MFL sites instead of 2012. Now that the projections are in, does FBG have an estimate of when the RMT will be up and running for this season?

Tick,I could be wrong, but I think I read a post by Joe on this topic stating 6/25 was the estimated date. Again, could have this wrong...

Yea, the write ups are wacked:

"We don't particularly like Demarco Murray as a third running back" Huh?

"Additionally, wide receivers like Brandon Lloyd and Steve Johnson were available after a lot of the drafts." Fail!

"In any event, we wish you the best of luck. Here's hoping all your weeks are like week 9 of 2009" 2009?

Yeah, it's still pointing to last year's stats. Thus my question. Thanks for the estimate of 6/25 - I'll check it again then.

The links from MFL don't seem to work well. Tried from multiple MFL team pages...most wouldn't pull the team over at all, a couple pulled a team that wasn't even close to reality...for any team in the league. Some give me a note like this:

mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/football/public_html/rate-my-team/rmt_mfl_subprograms.php on line 54

Love the new format though!

Thanks. The only issue is the same issue we have with everything we do - not having enough time / resources to do everything we want. We love IDP but also want to be honest with folks about what is possible for us to do. As Doug said, it won't happen this year, but it's not out of the question. Thanks for being a part of Footballguys.J

TE Summary: Jimmy Graham, who we have ranked #9, is below average but probably adequate as a starting tight end. You might get by with only Graham, but some additional help here probably wouldn't hurt.

Note that the above "thoughts" were generated by David Dodds's projections. Others have different takes:

Some of our staffers have Jimmy Graham as high as #1, which would make him an above average first tight end. Maurile Tremblay's take: "People are not used to drafting fantasy tight ends in the first round, but a case can be made that Graham and Gronkowski are with considering at the end of the first or beginning of the second. I like Graham better, but take your pick."

Sorry for the confusion. Doug is just asking folks what they think about the front end setup for entering data. The real part of Rate My Team where it gives you feedback isn't actually working yet. We're just looking at improving the way the front end works and wanted feedback from people.J
