Pot smokers (1 Viewer)

Do people enjoy vaporizers because they are discreet and don't have the smoke inhalation or because the high is actually better? If someone is just a once-a-week, at-home toker is a vaporizer really worth it?

There's portable vaporizers and then there's the desktop versions.

I have a Pax portable that I use strictly as a portable when away from home. It is more discreet... still smells, but it isn't blatantly obvious you're vaping weed at just a glance. I have used it in public places, but always outside and usually while walking or sitting on a bench away from people.

I have a Silver Surfer desktop that I keep on my desk... the hose and wand in a drawer. Very handy, very quick, and very easy to get out the wand, suck up a bowl full of herb and start vaping. No mess, no fuss.

Both provide a smoother inhalation than actual smoking. vaping is more efficient than an joint or a pipe... probably as efficient as a bong, but much smoother.

And, yeah, no carcinogens as you get with smoke... that's a bonus for me, but not a primary reason why I vape instead of smoke.

I have gone back and forth from vaping to combustion. If you are worried about smell vapor doesn't linger as long. It also isn't as much of a mess dealing with cashing out bowls, ash, resin, etc.

If you only smoke once a week though a vaporizer probably isn't worth getting. Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, and are curious to try.

2 more days until I hit Co.

Probably said it, but we are going to be staying in Fort Collins. Any recs as to where to go in that area?

ETA: ah yes, I found the suggestion from page 4 or so.

Just picked a review at random.
a phenomenal experience

I would consider myself pretty knowledgeable, but when I entered I asked the manager to educate me on things I may not know. She kindly offered me all of her expertise, and I ended up going with all of her recommendations. I wish I could recall her name. Either way, I enjoyed it all. A great experience. Would highly recommend.
:lmao:

Anyone know how long it takes for weed to be out of your system in order to pass a mouth swab drug test.
Depends on how regular of a smoker you are. Daily? Then probably 30 days. Once a week? More like 14. One time in the last month? Probably less than a week.ETA: I have no research to back this up, I'm just pulling it out of my ###.

I had a 1/4 of an edible last night. Knocked me out.
I'm currently in Denver but I'm on call so I won't be doing any weed. When I was here last month for training I bought some edible ginger snaps. I ate half of one and waited over an hour and nothing so I ate the other half. Wrong move.

When I was doing research a couple years ago about hair folicle tests (needed one for a job, I was freaking out), I found out you can smoke 4-6 joints a month (of icky sticky) and still be under the 50 nanogram threshold for a positive.

For you guys with kids, where do you smoke? The few times i smoke at night it stinks up my whole basement. Even if i spray a ton of lysol i still smell it the next morning. Its the only reason i dont smoke as much as i like.

Get one of these - Air purifier . Run it for a few minutes after and you should be good.

i dont have a garage, i dont have a shed, i dont have a dog. I live in a small development where if i smoked in my backyard everyone would know its me and id just rather not gather any of the attention to myself.

Like I said get an ionizer liek the one I linked. Run it while you smoke and for a few minutes after. No one will be the wiser.

Why not just eat it in with some baked goods?

I think I found a new favorite portable vaporizer. Heck, if this thing keeps performing like it did this first time and the battery can keep a charge, this might be the best vaporizer EVAH.

 DaVinci Ascent. I'm using the Croc skin model, fwiw. Very sharp looking tool... doesn't look like a vaporizer at all. Feels good in the hand to hold. It has a glass straw that gets pulled out that can be used for inhalation. Very easy to set the temperature... and it sets temp very precisely and then holds it. Very smooth vape. Highly recommended.

Works for leaf and oils? Very interested. PAX has been more trouble than its worth.

What problems are you having with the Pax? I haven't had any issues with mine, although I clean it every time I empty the oven and that can be annoying when I am feeling unmotivated at the time for whatever reason...

Really? I've had no issues with it.

Had the magic flight box for a couple months...highly recommend it
I haven't used any other handhelds, but I have one of these and a Volcano at the house, and I wouldn't recommend the MFB. I'm not saying it's any worse than other handhelds, but I'm just saying I'm still looking for a handheld I like.

I have a MF, may have to give jt another try. I never really got the hang of it, and got an iolite shortly after.

I have an iolite and like it. I have the older version. it seems to burn a bit hot to me and has no temp controls, but I like the convenience and it was relatively cheap compared to other handhelds. little to no smell, just not the smoothest vape IMO. I also have a plug in vapor brothers box that vapes better, but it's a hassle to warm up and use. Since smoke messes up my sinuses, vaping is all I can do and it works great for me. The iolite does get warm, but it keeps the hands warm in winter, which is nice.

I wore my original iolite out, but it was a nice device. I may get the new one. It seems to be one of the most affordable ones out, and you don't have to worry about batteries. Plus, I know what I'm getting since I already had the old one.

It's amazing any of you potheads can type a coherent sentence. How many of you have to keep your spleef time secret? How many of you don't give a #### about who or when you partake?

FWIW I like to vape but haven't found one I can clean enough nor last but I will be checking into JC's link. :thanks:

Yeah, the constant cleaning is a bit of a pain (even though it's simple to do), but I have had ongoing issues with it (not) charging. Need to send it back and test out their vaunted service.

My other complaint, though I don't see an easy solution, is the fact that it works best when packed tight. I could REALLY use a 1-3 hitter. It ain't always a party goin on, ya know?
