Just an FYI for Oregonians: 

My good buddy’s company Rebel Roots just got their recreational sales license and will soon be at dispensaries near you. They specialize in true high grade terpines and their fractionalized distillate called “clear” that runs uber pure and is vaped or sold in edibles. I know they have several strains of flower as well. 

If anyone has heard anything about them, or has / does try any of their stuff... please tag me. I’m curious for feedback. Thanks!

I usually run it between 365-375 which is on the lower half. I’ve kept it pretty clean, so I don’t think it’s from it being all gunked up.

Lot's of crazy #### going on in Oregon.  Soooo much supply, I can't imagine how growers and producers are trying to stand out with their flower.  I know the scene pretty well out here and haven't heard of them yet, but will keep my eye open.

Yep! They are geared MUCH more toward distillation and terpine generation rather than growth of flower (though they do grow their own). He said they had other growers dumping hundreds of pounds of post-trim waste with them... that they can then distill down a couple times into 90+% pure THC oil. Doesn't matter how low the content is in the waste... this pulls it out. Pretty damn cool. With costs of flower in free-fall, that certainly bodes well for their margins as a processor.

They are in Rogue River Valley area in Southern Oregon. Pretty rural area from what I understand.

Niles (the business guy in the partnership) Is an old friend.... great guy. Chase (who I've not met) is the dreadlocked, heavily-tatted cultivation/distillation half of the partnership.

Boy, that's hell and gone from Portland.  What are these terpenes and the other thing you mention?  How or what do I do with them?  I switched to vaping and enjoy it over regular old fashioned pot smoking, but I have no idea what to call the stuff I put into the chamber to inhale.  It's like a brown wax.  I had a guy that did all this for me under the table and set me up with like a year's worth of this waxy goodness, but at some point, I'll need to waltz into the store and buy more.

NM, I'll just take Hack with me.

It's called shatter.   These guys are either producing this or the liquid that goes into the cartridges for vape pens.

Here's the cliffs notes to their stuff:

Crystal Clear : Their industry best-ish distillate that is essentially pure THC (mid 90%s and up). It can be vaped, used in edibles, etc. This is much higher purity, usually, than the brown waxy stuff. It's also essentially odorless, which can be handy at times...SWIM can confirm that people can walk into a room right after you've hit this and have no idea what's up  :ph34r: . 

Terpines: These are flavor and scent components that make various strains unique. Many folks synthesize these. RR actually isolates them from the flower, which explains why they cost more. A growing segment of vaping world likes to "build" a bowl by starting with your THC (Crystal Clear) then blending/adding terpines to create the flavor/scent/etc profile that you like. A connoisseurs thing I suppose.

Shatter is usually involving processing by solvents like BHO. The short-path fractional distillation process is much cleaner and yields a far superior product. Having tested a BHO 85% pen vs a Crystal Clear 95% pen side by side there's no comparison, IMO.

That looks awesome!  Wish I could, buddy.  Have to go to the hospital today to visit my mom, then hosting dinner with my dad/sis so we can talk about what to do with my mom.  Much rather be at this!

Can you save me a CBD beer?  I'd love to try that out.  Maybe we could meet up next week for a 2pm lunch or so?

 
To celebrate this day, I'm asking for a recommendation.  I have an oil pen and like it okay for the most part.  But what tool can I get for regular bud that is easy, low maintenance and discreet?

 
Had a nice 4/20. It was 60 and sunny, hung outside at a brewery enjoying some awesome mango guava NE IPA and I had my lime sorbet pen. Some guys were smoking a Girl Scout Cookie and were cool enough to share as well. Perfect day.

I like the high quality vape pens (85-93% THC).  I only use certain brands.  My favorite being Kingpen, Naked and Kurvana.  There is a lot of trash out there.  DynaPuffs are cool but they burn too quick.  You want a glass cartridge not some plastic generic trash.  Lots of bootlegs out there so make sure the package is sealed.  Feel free to PM.  When I'm in Cali I tend to buy in bulk and check out whats new.

I'm the same way. I've tried 4-5x the recommended dose on commercial stuff, homemade candy and brownies that are supposedly really strong and even tried making them myself with 2-3x the amount of bud or keif called for in the recipe. Nothing. Kinda sucks actually.

Its a different effect than smoking.  I need at least 100mg edible to do the trick.  Those tiny 10mg candies featherweight imo.  I prefer the oil capsules at 100mg without all the sugar etc.

He's so high he is watching the football  video game on demo.  At least he has Piper at the Gates of Dawn playing in the background.  Better than Oz.
