PPR LT Owners do we roll with the playoff train into Tampa? (1 Viewer)

It hasn't been pretty but LT has made a decent season as of late. He still only broke 100 rushing yards twice this season, but has been hitting the paydirt to make some decent weeks. But now he plays Tampa who has been stingy against rushing TDs. Do you roll with LT in your Superbowl or look elsewhere?

Unless you have better options, you should feel OK starting LDT.

In non-PPR leagues, the last time he failed to score 10+ points was in Week 7 (he only has 3 games without double-digit fantasy points).

The Chargers are still in the playoff hunt.

He managed 15 points at Pittsburgh a few weeks back.

The Tampa run D is wearing down. Here are the fantasy points for the last 7 primary RBs who faced Tampa:

Marion Barber (9)

Jamaal Charles (10)

Adrian Peterson (8)

Kevin Smith (8)

Pierre Thomas (11)

DeAngelo Williams (30)

Michael Turner (24)

Also, he's 76 yards shy of 1,000 rushing yards.

Start him with the expectation that you'll get between 8 and 15 fantasy points.

I agree that it comes down to what your other options are.

While the Tampa DEF has started to show serious signs of weakness versus the run, the Chargers haven't really been able to run on anyone. And it's also an an enormous game at home for the Bucs, so you know they'll be pumped.

Personally, I'm starting S-Jax over him...

I'm leery that the Chargers can get it going against a Tampa team at home who, having lost their last two and feeling the Falcons breathing heavily down their necks, needs to play like their hair's on fire.

Plus I've got Slaton looking like a good play against Oakland.

Leaning far towards starting Slaton over LT2. Of course, if I go that route LT2 is going to blow up. Damn fantasy football...

After watching this for 15 weeks, I'm fairly certain LT is not going to blow up. If I had Slaton, I'd start him over LT no question. LT for whatever reason is a shell of his former self. Could be slowing down, could be injured, could be because he lost Lorenzo Neal, whatever. But I know the LT of old would not have dropped a pass last week when he could have walked into the endzone at the end of the KC game last week. He's shook and the team is shook. They are a passing team now, and he might vulture a 2 yard TD or something, but i have no faith in him breaking long runs anymore, nor do i have any faith of them showing any kind of loyalty to him when they are at the goalline. Maybe it changes next year, but if I had better options, i'd sit LT without reservation this week.

I am rolling with him. I have all year. He has never left my starting line up except for the bye week. He got me this far - with the help of others. Plus I don't have any valid replacements for him right now.

I am not confident that having him in the line up is going to win the match up for me. I am confident that he will score me points though and if I am balanced across my players with scoring as I have been all year then I will have a shot.

I have no choice but to start him; but I'll say if Brooks is out that would make me feel better...

LT's numbers have only been decent over the past several weeks because of a cake Schedule. I dont see him going for more than 75 yards, or scoring a TD. If you are OK with that, then start him, but if you have another RB who you think will get more than 8 fantasy points, you might want to go with him.

This thread is also interesting as it shows how many LT owners, who more than likely wasted a #1 on, actually making it to their Super Bowls.
