Pre 1 BUF @ CAR (1 Viewer)

Nice catch and run by DeAngelo. it was called back, but not because of something he did wrong.

IMO it doesn't really matter who wins the QB competition to get that first start of the year in Buffalo.

The eventual permanent guy will be Nall. Take that one to the bank.

CP (Help, Construxboy is holding a gun to my head!)

WOW, great TD by Gates. spun in the air (almost 360), landed on his feet and made the extra effort to get in.

being reviewed???

edit: reviewed and TD. couldn't see the ball on replay...

beat me too ithe left the field limping however...no word

Let's not forget about the most important thing so far...

DESHAUN FOSTER DIDN'T BREAK A BONE!!!

5 rushes for 25 yds?! I'll take that every day.

:fosterownerintwoleagues:

Haven't read any previous post, but my thoughts from what I've seen.

1. Foster looks solid

2. Delhomme and WR's looked great. Pick him up as your first QB late in drafts. He will be a steal.

3. Carolina Defense is back to where it was a couple years ago.

4. Buffalo's offensive line is terrible.

5. Because of the above, be wary of picking McGahee too high.

6. Losman is the better of the two QB's, plus he can run with the ball, which he will be doing all season long with that line.

When should Buffalo announce Loseman as the starter?

Or should they give Nall one more chance?

:bag:

BassNBrew Game Summary

1) Foster looked good, but not great. Assuming no injury, peg him in the RB 11-15 range.

2) DeAngelo Williams has limited fantasy value this year barring a Foster injury or trade to the Jets. His ADP is now 2-3 rounds too high and should really only be targetted by Foster owners.

3) Shelton...too early to say. Robertson looked great on kickoff returns. Goings didn't play, I think he's safe.

4) Carolina WR #3. I've been hugely down on Colbert and pimping Carter, but Colbert looked good tonite. I'm bumping down my Carter numbers (Although he's still a great play in best ball leagues) and putting Colbert back on the radar. I'm beginning to think Carolina has the best stable of WRs in the league.

5) Carolina D will will be a great fantasy play in TO/sack heavy leagues. If point/yardage heavy leagues, look elsewhere. Lucas and Gamble are studs. Draft was a back-up LB, but will be an OK pick in very deep IDP leagues.

6) Welcome to the #### <---another work for penis Juron era. Losman's running ability will likely give him the edge. I've been pimping the Buffalo D, but they showed little from a FF standpoint.

7) McGahee may surprise in ppr leagues.

8) Kasey will be under rated as a kicker. Grab him in the last round.

9) Carolina started the game with 6 of 7 passing plays. Delhomme spread the ball around. Looked like a direct attempt to silence critics. I had downgraded my Delhomme expectations for a renewed run emphasis...now I'm questioning that with the WR talent. Delhomme seems to be continuing to improve.

10) WOW...it's great that football season is back.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I just got back from going to the game with H.K. He has a friend who got us onto the field before the game. Awesome. Watched Losman completing outs to the WRs right in front of us. Then in return for the scoring us the field passes, H.K. had to listen to me talk about what Nall would have done for every play. It was amusing. Great game.

So he had 1 nice run of 20 yards, and the other 7 carries went for a total of 1 yard? I didn't see any of this game, did DeAngelo get any time with the first team or against a 1st team D?

Short. Seriously, he looks fine so far. I didn't realize how little he is. He reminds me of Tiki Barber in body size and shiftiness.
Good height/weight combo, but he is short. I'm not sure where he gets 5'10" from considering he measured in under 5'9" at the combine.Shouldn't matter much, but I do question his ability to run inside since most of his runs at Memphis he took to the outside.

Dude...she called him short...it matters.

Went to the game tonight, and the one thing that hit me the most was how good this may be for the offense to operate for awhile without S. Smith. Let Delhomme find someone else for a change. Certainly can't hurt, and it looked pretty good on that first drive. Well, that and how good a cold beverage tastes at the game after such a LOOOONG offseason! :banned: :hey:

BnB, this is spot on, with one exception...barring unforseen circumstance, Shelton is gone. He runs too upright and too soft. The local press on him has been a lot of fluff, its been fueled by the team to cover for a horrible draft class of which he was a part, and maybe help him latch on with another club. Did you notice last night that Haynes was ahead of him on the depth chart? That was very telling.

Here are a few interesting tidbits I learned from Construxboy at the game last night:1) Nall is faster than a speeding bullet2) Nall can leap tall buildings in a single bound3) Nall fights for truth, justice, and the American way

 Bills would have won the game if Nall had been in there.

I couldn't catch this game, as it was not on in my area. Did Lee Evans play last night? The full play-by-play on NFL.com would seem to indicate he didn't, unless he just didn't get any looks...

Thanks.

Evans started, I don't think he played for more than a series or two. Nothing thrown his way...FWIW, we stood next to him in warm ups and Construx & I gave him a few pointers, so he should have a good year. :D

One other thing, if Nall played, Evans would have been 9 for 140 and 3 TD's...assuming they both played three series, of course. :P

Just out of curiosity, what's with your infatuation with Nall? He hasn't played enough for anyone to like him that much, so I'm thinking you know him, or went to the same school, or something like that.... Just curious.Anyway, I didn't get to see anything more than what was on No Huddle. I should get to watch the replay (Monday @ 3), but I'm glad to see Losman got some descent PT, and looked pretty descent, considering he was running for his life most of the time. You have to believe if he plays like that next week, the competition will be over. Also, did anyone watch the Bills interrior DL? How did they look? Were they getting blown off the ball on run plays? That's my biggest concern on the Defensive side.

Williams ran with the first unit at the end of the first quarter, however, Weinke was the QB, not Delhomme. He made a nice run on his first carry when he gained 3 yards on a play that could been a loss, the play started left and he displayed good vision and quickness by finding a seem off of right tackle to get positive yards. His other runs that series didn't give him much room to do anything, either. The starters were rotated out after this, so he wasn't ever really running with the 1st unit. His stat line was a little misleading based on a carry where he lost seven yards on a play that was blown up. Overall, he probably has the goods to play at this level, but needs to get some seasoning and coaching before he'll be able to challenge for the starting spot. Its Foster's job in 2006, no doubt about it.

I'll let CB handle the Nall question...(WWND?)As for the Bills DL, here is what they did when Foster carried for a series:
Carolina Panthers at 07:18 1-10-CAR41 (7:18) D.Foster up the middle to BUF 46 for 13 yards (C.Kelsay, N.Clements). 1-10-BUF46 (6:39) D.Foster right guard to BUF 37 for 9 yards (A.Crowell). 2-1-BUF37 (6:00) D.Foster up the middle to BUF 37 for no gain (K.Williams). 3-1-BUF37 (5:19) D.Foster up the middle to BUF 37 for no gain (K.Williams). 4-1-BUF37 (4:40) PENALTY on CAR-J.Kyle, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at BUF 37 - No Play. 4-6-BUF42 (4:28) J.Baker punts 26 yards to BUF 16, Center-J.Kyle, fair catch by G.Wilson.
The holes for the first two runs were pretty big, Foster didn't have any trouble getting to the second level. Then they clogged the middle on consecutive plays to force the punt. IIRC, Weinke may have been in the game at this point, too. The Bills' D-line was shaky at best, and its important to note that SSmith did not play, so Carolina still had few problems moving the ball on the ground or in the air without him. If this were a regular season game, Foster would have had a C-note easily.

I like him and thought he was the future GB QB before they drafted Rodgers. I still think he may end up being better than Rodgers, and now he plays for my favorite team who happens to have an astounding lack of talent at the position. Holcomb is crap. Losman looked OK last night, but I do think Nall can be better than him if he can get back to practice soon. And in a survivor draft 4-5 months ago, needing a 3rd QB in case Favre retired, I drafted Nall when half the league hadn't heard of him. :)
