Pre-Game Thread - Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots (1 Viewer)

Yeah Flacco stinks. Not gonna protect this lead with him lobbing the rock around.
1/5 for 13yds and a pick. Not a very good start to the game. Good thing they got some guy named Rice on their team.
One of the more overrated young players in the league IMO. He's shown promise at times but hasn't improved one iota since his first game. They win despite him like they have with every one of their QBs.
well, he's up to 2 completions now ... but is going the wrong way in yards ... 9yds now

The fact that Quinn, Flacco and Palmer are in the AFC North makes me more optimistic for 2010 as a Steeler fan.

They are all horrible.

Do people really think the Pats can come back in this game? They have shown 0 signs of being the better team here.

What's up with that Bud commercial with the guy bringing back like 6 beers to the seats? Maybe it's just true in the NJ/NY Metro area, but none of the arenas around here allow you more than 2 at any one time.

Yes.No to take anything away from the Ravens, who have obviously played well, but I think this is probably the most inept half of football I've seen from NE in the Tom Brady era. They can absolutely come back.

 There's only a handful of teams in the NFL who could come back in this situation but, dangit, the Patriots are one of 'em.

Past Patriot teams I would agree this one not so much. The Ravens will run the ball down their throats in the second half.

I hope Cam doesn't get ultra-cautious here in the second half. Grinding along, trying to bleed clock sounds safe but I think it's just a recipe not to score and give Brady a chance to put together some long drives and wear out the Ratbirds defense. I'd like to see Cam dial up a little aggressiveness instead. Can't hold anything back when you're presented with a 17-point lead at the half in Foxboro.

Yep. Take out the opening run by Rice and the Ravens have 73 yards of offense. It's entirely possible that the Ravens simply stall out for most of the rest of the game. It's not a question of whether the Patriots can come back from 24 down. It's whether they're capable of scoring 17 points in the second half against a tough defense. Well, they certainly can, particularly if the Ravens defense starts to wear down.

clutch brady at 8-17 for 33 yards a td, 2 picks and a fumble. -3.3 ANY/A at home in the playoffs. Long live the most clutch player in history. Let's see if the Pats can make a run here in the second half. Pats defense has really stepped it up outside of those first few minutes. Pats O no where to be found yet.

So does anyone know for sure about whether that was a challengable call? The 1/2 time crew seems to wonder why they didn't challenge, and I would think they would know whether they could or not.

Plus we don't know the exact wording of that contract Belicheat signed with Satan. It could include a huge comeback playoff win in 2009.

Ravens D is absolutely dominating the Pats O. I'm shocked that people think the Pats are coming back in this one...they only have any points because of a muffed punt return.

The O is doing SFA.

This is the most predictable fottball I have seen the Pats play in 8 years. No chance they come back with the current calls being made.

This game has been given to Baltimore by our offense and unfortunately in particular by Tom Brady (that last interception I can live with, but the fumble could have been avoided and the first throw for an interception was awful).

We actually had a chance to (in a way) get back in it late but couldn't get anything done, as our offense once again was inept. What Randy Moss is doing out there have me wondering. I do like Moss and have come to accepted that you get a lot of great plays and then some effortless ones. However, he's absolutely not trying out there! If he's not injured I have no excuse for his play.

This season I've not seen us have a real complete solid game offensively apart from maybe the London-game, vs- Tennessee and Jacksonville (however that can be due to opposition). Basically I'm screaming for an offensive coordinator with some pedigree to re-make our ever-so known game plan. Right now we can't run for more than 2 yards, we can't find anything deep since Moss just jogs around the field. If opposing defenses just takes away Edelman short and pressure Brady some we have nothing.

If I had a little more faith in what we do offensively I wouldn't count us out just yet but I'm afraid I don't see it at this point.

We absolutely need to take this seriously in the off-season cause that's where we're heading...

:lmao:

The way Flacco is throwing the ball, ultra cautious is the only reasonable way for Cameron to go.Something has got to be wrong with him (I mean besides the usual lack of vision/mobility)...his one tool is a big arm and today he looks like Chad Pennington

I believe the Pats are a better team (especially at home), but the perfect storm happened for a possible upset. A few turnovers is all it takes.

Brady needs to get Edelman more involved. I know Brady is used to working with Welker, but Edelman is their only chance, IMO. In turn (if Brady/Edelman get going), maybe Moss can get loose for a couple of big plays. Tough, tough road to hoe now, though.

Could be that the end zone kept getting in the way.

I love the playcall.

I don't know why so many pro QBs suck so badly at throwing the post though. Throw it out in front and let him run to the sidelines, he'll run away from the defender that way. When you focus on throwing it more upfield than out towards the sidelines you just bring even a beaten defender back into the play.

Maybe you're thinking of another route. A post route is run towards the post, which used to be right in the center of the endzone.
