Also wrong. If you get all your challenges right, you continue to get an extra one.The funny thing is that with three obvious bad calls that should have been overturned (punt muff recovery, Flacco run, McGahee conversion) if the Ravens had challenged all three and won all three as they should have, they would be unable to challenge the next bad call. That is how bad the refs are. Unreal.
I agree completely. This is a multi billion dollar sport. They should use technology, and not leave the game in the hands of 70 year old part time side judges. All of this outdated silliness of using chains, etc needs to go. Put some radio transmitters in the ball and you can put the ball exactly where it is after every spot.I agree with the announcers. They need to code the ball to when it breaks the plane. I have no idea how they don't overturn that call. It was clearly over the plane directly from the side.
RFID chips will require triangulation to accurately determine position. Given the range (width of field) and other challenges, the technology doesn't exist for this application. Constant "on" RFID has a max range of a few meters. All of this outdated silliness of using chains, etc needs to go. This is part of the fix, I presume. The refs know even if they get their calls overturned, it's eventually going to be a no lose situation for the Patriots. The funny thing is that with three obvious bad calls that should have been overturned (punt muff recovery, Flacco run, McGahee conversion) if the Ravens had challenged all three and won all three as they should have, they would be unable to challenge the next bad call. Don't you only get a max of one extra challenge? Also wrong. You sure it doesn't? I'm pretty sure it does.RFID chips will require triangulation to accurately determine position. Quack. This is exactly why neither team is throwing deep. Every deep pass by Brady has looked like a duck in the air.
They have dog collars that shock if it crosses over a wire buried under the ground.I don't see why they can't put a tiny chip on both tips of the ball, bury some wire on the plane of the goaline and use the same idea, only with some sort of signal in the booth rather than a shock.RFID chips will require triangulation to accurately determine position. That was unbelievable by Edelman.
A better and cheaper idea would be for the refs to stop suckingYou sure it doesn't? I'm pretty sure it does.RFID chips will require triangulation to accurately determine position. Triggered "on" RFID has a longer range than constant "on" (the latter being needed for this application). Constant on has a max range of a few meters. That and source triangulation is not as accurate as you guys would like to think. Even given adequate range, it would likely be no more accurate than existing setup. Now... if they ran wire under the goalline that could possibly work. You sure it doesn't? I'm pretty sure it does.RFID chips will require triangulation to accurately determine position. Or just shock the ball carrier when he crosses the plane. They have dog collars that shock if it crosses over a wire buried under the ground.I don't see why they can't put a tiny chip on both tips of the ball, bury some wire on the plane of the goaline and use the same idea, only with some sort of signal in the booth rather than a shock.RFID chips will require triangulation to accurately determine position. the NFL should issue Brady his own flag

I'm not worried about every spot, just between the two goal line posts. Put a sensor on each side, and when the ball breaks the plane, a nice light goes off. Ever watch hockey? Same deal. You sure it doesn't? I'm pretty sure it does.RFID chips will require triangulation to accurately determine position. Exactly. Instant replay has made them worse.A better and cheaper idea would be for the refs to stop suckingYou sure it doesn't? Decoy. Didn't work though.Randy Moss playing today?
You can keep challenging if you have not lost on a challenge, as long as you have a timeout, and it's not in the last 2 minutes.Don't you only get a max of one extra challenge? Also wrong. So the Pats couldn't win with three TDs. Stranger things have happened. Well, not really. Not that it matters but WTF did the Ravens go for two there?
Nice job staying in bounds, Rice. I like that young football player.
He's impressed me pretty much every time I've seen him play this year.
