With the way things are falling out in the AFC it looks like Texans may have home field wrapped up by wk #14!

That means Foster Schaub and AJ owners may be in a bind if they start resting players!! Who could be the garbage time players to stash off of this team? My guess would be Ben Tate and TJ Yates. But maybe Tate is not the guy maybe Forsett? Do you guys think any of these guys worth stashing

Tate is the only guy I'd really look at grabbing here in all but the deepest leagues.I'm assuming that the Texans will continue to go run heavy if they rest starters limited the potential upside of any backup QB or WR who may get in the game.

Comes up pretty much every year. Teams that have their playoff spot locked up generally don't rest their players until week 17. By then, most playoffs are done.

This. Think about it, even if Houston rests there plays in week 17, they'll essentially go 3 weeks without their starters playing in a NFL game. Personally I think that's too much to begin with, but resting them in week 16 or before, could really let the rust accumulate and thats not something you want going into the playoffs.

Colts used to do it with mixed results; Coughlin and the G-men changed that line of thinking.

Except for WK 17 and already have the bye locked up, starters will play all the way through.

If Hou lost @CHI and @NE (not that big of a stretch) and NE won out (admittedly a much bigger reach), NE would have a higher seed than the Texans. IMO, it's way too early to think teams are in a position to clinch much of anything at this point.

Last year Texans mostly rested starters week 17 against the Titans. They went so far with it that by the end of the game they were playing a 3rd string tight end at linebacker to have enough players on the field who weren't starters. Tate was 16 for 97 yards and a TD with 4 receptions for 24 yards. Derrick Ward the 3rd string RB got 12 carries for 50 yards. Jake Delhomme played the whole game I believe.

Andre Johnson did play a little, he had 2 receptions, but he was still working back from injury so I believe that was to help him get back to game speed.
