Preseason Game Observations (1 Viewer)

Bell looks like he doesn't know he is supposed to break tackles. I thought he was a strong runner?
i think he led nation in yards after contact in 2012...different, smaller but strong RB, david wilson did in 2011.
I thought Bell was supposed to be a power back? Wilson is elusive and has a strong YAC. And Wilson has shown he can perform in the NFL. Yet Bell is being drafted before him. Good luck with that everybody!
I have done 10 redrafts already this year and Bell hasn't went ahead of Wilson in even one, but way to over react on 4 carries
I'd rather overreact to 4 carries than be optimistic with 0 carries.
She also thinks 4 carries is a "heavy workload". I think she's just got a bunch of hormones flowing right now. Best to back away slowly.
Really?

ummm, ok
I'm just saying that I'm not willing to drop a 4th round pick on a guy who got hurt in training camp, looked bad for 4 straight runs and then got hurt again. If he mans up and can play some football next week then maybe he can show what he can do and earn an early pick. Would much rather own Lacy at this point and he's going a good bit later.

In what universe is bell drafted before Wilson? Madness

Did he give you a foot rub?

We are about to see more of Rex Grossman than anyone ever should.

I wish I could place a bet that there will be a sack/strip/fumble ("Rex" for short.) by the Steelers in this game.

Boy, every team in the steelers division is going to give them fits on defense this year. They have no answer at all for a speedy rusher that can move laterally.

Nor is Bell considered a "power back". He's a bigger back but nobody characterizes him as a power back.

No she didn't but you can feel free to keep dreaming

Man, feel free to let this go, fellas.

You are right, and I am sorry. Back to the game. Am I the only one that thinks the Steelers and Redskins don't want to be playing right now?

Trolls just make these forums unbearable anymore. I was looking for some good info but it's just not worth it listening to these people constantly complain or just troll each other. Unsubscribe

Sanders is worth a look - good value relative to ADP.
I heard he was having a strong camp somewhere.

During a recent two-day trip to Steelers camp, ESPN's Jamison Hensley came away more impressed by Emmanuel Sanders than Antonio Brown.
It's worth noting Brown has been moved to X receiver, where he's squaring off with RCB Ike Taylor. The Steelers are much weaker at the other corner spot with Cortez Allen sidelined by knee surgery. Per Hensley, Ben Roethlisberger's "best deep throws" went to Sanders, and they displayed a "better rhythm" on crossing routes. Sanders has some breakout appeal in his contract year.

How did Alfred Morris look? Did Trent Williams play tonight?
Morris looked fine. Nothing spectacular but if he's getting the carries he should every week then he will put up his numbers. I'm drafting from the 12 spot so kind of hoping he continues to be quiet.

After 2 preseason games these are the later ADP players that stand out for ppr leagues

C.Givens

A.Roberts

......A.Fasano.

Did I just write A.Fasano?! :porked:
Is Fasano going to start over Kelce and Moeaki? I can't see drafting him in normal leagues, but he'd be a decent safe play for best-ball leagues. He's only $2 in the subscriber contest...
Good point. Who knows at this point. They did sign Fasano for 4 years 16 million so I guess Reid (or the GM) did "like him." Moeaki was just recently cleared to practice (July 23) so it will be interesting to see how the depth chart plays out.

Kelce is a wild card.
I have drafted Fasano before as a possible sleeper TE. He was very disappointing. When presented with the choice I went with Kelce as I think he has the most upside. From what I saw of Kelce's blocking I was really impressed, and this makes me think he will see the field frequently. I am not sold on the receivers besides Bowe so I think there will be many targets to the RB and TE instead.

Rookie TE rarely perform well but to every rule there is also an exception.

Here is an article I liked about the situation - http://arrowheadaddict.com/2013/05/27/the-kansas-city-chiefs-and-the-tight-end-position/

I have not really been keeping up with news on how the competition has been shaking up however.
Just following up on this.

It looks like Fasano/Moeaki started with Alex Smith against the Saints. However in reading some more I found this-

http://arrowheadaddict.com/2013/08/19/chiefs-released-updated-depth-chart-for-steelers-game/

Which lists Kelce ahead of Moeaki on the depth chart. I cannot help thinking that if Andy had big plans for Moeaki he wouldn't have signed Fasano or drafted Kelce. Some talk about up tempo here also so all 3 TE could see the field frequently. In game 2 they were in 2 TE (sometimes Moeaki splitting out to WR) about equal to 3WR sets.

I just find it interesting they list Kelce ahead of Moeaki even though they started Moeaki over Kelce. As far as I know Kelce is healthy.

According to some of the TC stuff I read Kelce has been a standout there.

2. Travis KelceSo far, the game doesn't look to big for the rookie. He has made inaccurate passes thrown to him look routine. Recently in practice, he went out for a one handed grab on a drag route. He then tipped the ball to himself and made the catch with a defender draped over him. Kelce has a unique blend of size and athletic ability. In the run game, Kelce sticks with his blocks. He may not have the best footwork or position in his block yet. The big thing though is that he is relentless in his blocks. And he finishes each play until the whistle blows. Kelce will show flashes this season but when he puts it all together...watch out.

I think we haven't seen Stephens-Howling yet because evidently, Barry Foster has had an impressive camp. I heard this from an outside source.

agreed, he has good size, but somewhat counterintuitively, may be better known for his combo of size and elusiveness than size and power...

waldman's article has nice breakdown of his pros and cons, i remembered it because it includes a highlight that stood out more than any other for me as far as illustrating his unusual feet, movement skills and elusiveness for a big RB... i think it is first one discussed, the double spin move...

http://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2013/04/22/boiler-room-michigan-state-rb-leveon-bell/

* obviously small sample, but bernard and lacy have been more impressive than ball and bell in early going among rookie second rounders expected to start or figure prominently in RBBC...
