Preseason Game Observations (1 Viewer)

I'm sure everyone else's reaction is same as mine: really GB, Dejuan Harris? I agree with another poster, really feels like a matter of time. I think the protection for Rodgers could hold back a rookie but I was under the assumption Lacy was a polished blocker too.
Lacy's blocking is good enough I think that it should not be a big problem for him.

Dejuan Harris was by far the best RB they had last year though. He is a pretty good RB. Quick and hard to find in traffic. Which is a nice COP to Lacy's brutishness.

Too bad that Gillette kid has such a baby face. He could have had a great endorsement contract with them, but sadly..... not going to happen.

WTF is this ####. I have NFL Network. It says the game doesn't start for another 50 minutes. I tune in to NFL network and it's just news and people jabbering.

Seriously?

It truly is amazing that some people still don't know what to look for in preseason games, and the definitive conclusions some of them make.
Sincere question.. what do I look for? What do I ignore? Thanks.
Always look for who gets the work with the starters. From a Packers perspective this game showed that they are legitimately thinking of starting Harris. At the very least they were going to give him a shot. His average showing and subsequent injury probably did him no favors.

That brings me to Lacy. Last week he had the chance to run with the starters and more importantly with Rodgers. And he looked fantastic. Tonight the guy was working playing with a QB who's about to be out of the league and had defenders in his face from the moment he took the handoff. If anything his stock jumped tonight with Harris' injury.

And the other conclusion I saw multiple people making was to bump up James Jones and Jermichael Finley based on the amount of looks they were getting. Amazing how quickly people forget that come week 1 they'll be losing a lot of those looks to the Packers #1 and #2 WRs, Cobb and Nelson.

I also saw someone say that since Cobb isn't playing that he'll be dealing with his injury all year. Really? You make that definitive declaration based on sitting out a preseason game? It's just a biceps injury that is a mere pain tolerance issue and wouldn't so much as cost him a down come the regular season.

That's just a start.

just got a new kitten. Named Stanley after the Blackhawk win. Evidently loves football though. He's planted himself right in front of the TV and is watching intently.

He is. Already nicknamed him 'little dude'.... when he gets in trouble I have to tell him the "dude abides"

Awful officiating in the GB/Seattle game. Awful call on a hit to Quinn at QB is just the tip, I think Seattle has around 235 yards in penalties today.

i wonder if forte will come in next drive--will give some insight since bush ran first and second down in the RZ.

As a Bears fan, I hope not. I don't see the need. He looked great, it's the pre season, it's Oakland (so he should look good)...call it a night?
Bush looked good too- since you watch the Bears, what will the distribution be? 70-30?
I don't even want to put a guess out there.
