Presidential Debate Thread - Obama vs. Romney (1 Viewer)

Krauthammer with a great point on Fox, how did Obama not introduce the 47 percent into this thing? in his words, CK thinkings Obama thought he could stand up there and run out the clock for 90 minutes and I agree...
Agree. Obama had opportuniy to throw punches but he didn't.
Also shocked that the 47% thing didn't get brought up.Obama not getting one annual budget passed in 4 years (2 years with both Democrat-controlled houses) should have been brought up as well. Only time in American history.
In the era of constant filibuster, this is hardly an astounding occurrence. Obama seems unwilling to point out Congress being an black hole of misery, but that explains it.
There was really no excuse for not passing a budget when they had a Super-majority.

Golf-clapping repubs> $100 says Obama wins the election. Step in line, put your money where your Mitt is.

Who's this guy on CNN right now who looks like meathead from All In The Family? Talking to the big broad.

So is the election over?
Yet none of these tools will put their money where their blowhard mouths are, will they?
Nope. Pretty standard here in the FFA.
this is the debate thread. Still leaning Obama, but thought Romney "won" the debate :shrug:Should I be wasting my money betting on Romney because of one silly debate?
Why would anyone make a bet with some random guy on the internet anyway? It's such a bizarre thing to get worked up about. If someone really wanted to make a bet I imagine they would go through legitimate channels.

Not to be Hipple - but still way behind.

But Romney just cited the 10th Amendment.

I know what the S.Ct. says - but he gets credit for even giving lip service to it.

Ok.

Tried my luck at a political thread for once. Thought I'd maybe talk about the debate. I see now that once the debate is over it's a like a full moon and everyone changes back into blood sucking werewolf mode.

Enjoy lunatics.

I only caught about half an hour of the debate and see that everyone is saying Obama got his clock cleaned. What I watched was Romney backpeddling on everything he has ran on so far and reinventing himself yet again. So apparently voters like the reboot. And they are buying into voodoo economics.

Romney 1

Math 0

You guys all laughed at me when I said Romney would win the debate easily.
$100?
Now the second part of my prediction is coming up. Whether the win will cause a shift. I say not. Everybody is high on Romney tonight but it will fade. The problem is that this debate wasn't memorable. It was too wonky.
I thought there was about a 2/3 chance Obama would "lose," and that seems to have come true. It was a win of style. There will be a backlash on the substance for Mitt, but as far as what the debate is good for (image), Mitt made up some ground.Obama won't be as passive in nights two and three, especially if the needle moves. I think they banked on just getting through the night without damage, but that plan obviously backfired.

And there in a nutshell is why the decline of American politics is irreversible in many people's eyes. Surely candidates should at least try to be substantive? If all we ask for is sound bites, that's all we'll get.

So you think the game plan was bend over and hope for the best? I hope the leader of the Free World has a little more backbone than that.

You guys are living in a fantasy world if you think Romney is killing it.

No idea why he didn't feel like punching back.

CNN focus group just showed Obama's lowest pt with them was when he pointed out Mitt's math doesn't add up. This just shows voters can't handle the truth. Apparently they are willing to believe that everyone gets a tax cut, and the deficit goes down, with a free unicorn on the side.
