Done. How about the Bears' 2nd and 3rd plus Devin Hester?

Exactly. And a large part might be who the unnamed team is. If it's an NFC team like Chicago, the Eagles might really jack the price up. Imagine the outrage if McNabb goes there for a single first rounder, stays healthy and is the missing piece of the puzzle. Mean while the Eagles get a late first-rounder. The price might have been a lot less for an AFC team like the Ravens or the Bills.I suspect the "3 first rounders" is a polite way of telling a team that if they want "player X", they need to be prepared to pay a ridiculous price, because they aren't available.
And that pick became . . . Reggie Brown.I heard the Dolphins are interested in Feeley after last night's game. Philly wants a 2nd rounder.![]()
that worked out very nicely for Philly
I think a little of this was spin from the Eagles in the event that source leaked. imagine if they only told the team they wanted a 2nd round pick for him - or only on 1st round pick? Then feelings are hurt and they have to go into damage control.at 3 first rounders.J
If in fact this is their asking price, I think it is a clear indication of how little intention the Eagles have of dealing McNabb.at 3 first rounders.J
you think? I would rather have anderson if I was giving up a 1 and 3.I think he's worth 3 first rounders today, when QBs are hard to come by (ones that can step in and play right away). In the off-season, the price would probably be a 1 and a 3.
The Bears won't trade Hester. He's their best player.Donny Loved Bowling said:How about the Bears' 2nd and 3rd plus Devin Hester?
As a Bears fan, I'd never want to do that. We have some needs (Tackle, Safety...) to take care of before we start worrying about dealing away our best offensive weapon and high draft picks for a 30+ year old QB coming off serious knee damage. I'd take McNabb for a 2nd rounder. Not more.Donny Loved Bowling said:How about the Bears' 2nd and 3rd plus Devin Hester?
I think the point is that it would take 3 1st rounders for Philly to deal him (no-brainer) right now. I think to trade away a starting QB at this point would be dumb for any team. In the off-season when you can plan for the upcoming year, it makes more sense for Philly to deal him away.mozzy84 said:you think? You realize that the Bears have drafted Cade McCown & Rex Grossman in the first rounds? That's 2 blown first round picks. I think they would be stupid not to give one up, if it can fix their QB woes.dornado said:As a Bears fan, I'd never want to do that. McNabb will be about a 9.6MM cap hit. That's a big hit.I'd bet the Cardinals would look a lot better with McNabb back there instead of Leinart. Not that they need another injury prone QB, but they already have a solid defense and their offense would go from good to great overnight if they added McNabb. It might not be the best for Boldin and Fitzgerald's numbers, but they'd do very well with a deal that sent their first and then some for McNabb. Better yet if they could trade Leinart to Minny for Chester Taylor and a pick.
Or keep Leinart and sign Michael Turner or Julius Jones.I'd bet the Cardinals would look a lot better with McNabb back there instead of Leinart. We've also traded a 1st rounder for the likes of Rick Mirer. That price is just too steep for McNabb...You realize that the Bears have drafted Cade McCown & Rex Grossman in the first rounds? That was my initial thought. The Chargers set that price because they really wanted to keep Turner. If they'd wanted to trade him, the price would have been lower.Maybe the Eagles are doing the same thing.Philly must have talked to the guys in SD who valued Turner at 2 1st for this.![]()
