If it's a designed run play for the QB (either under center or in shotgun) and he is taken down behind the LOS, would be be considered a sack?

How about for QB sneaks that are stuffed for a loss?

Or QB option plays?

Does it even matter?

If the QB, in the official scores mind, is not attempting to pass, it will be count as a run and no sack.

Same thing goes for anyone that takes the direct snap. If he attempts to pass and is tackled behind the line of scrimmage then it is a sack for the defensive player(s).

Only if he steps back to pass.
