Honda lawn mower - bulletproof, always works well, starts on one pull every time

Big Green Egg (with a CyberQ) - go read the thread

Mark Bass combo amp - light, loud, sounds great

Google's free online products
i have my first Honda mower now. It's been great so far.

Good call on Google as well.

Lands' End work out shirts - These things are great

Charcoal Chimney - Screw lighter fluid

Weber - already mentioned but great products

Bose in ear headphones - Don't feel them in the ear, can wear all day, tough as hell.

Trader Joe's snacks - Just wander around the store and find 20 things I want

SonicCare - I like my teeth clean

Banana Republic for Socks and Underwear
Which Bose do you have? Your link goes to Lowes
Whoops. I'll fix that.

I have these: BOSE

Also got the sound canceling ones that are in ear but didn't find those quite as comfortable for long periods of time.

i have a pair of 1973 Bose 901's that I use in the summer time to blast music in the back yard while we swim. If i wanted to, i could crank up the denon amp that drives them and make it sound like we were having a concert in my back yard, they basically are unbreakable. Still sound great 42 years later.

Boring but one of the best things I have ever done as far as yard maintenance was get an electric string trimmer. I got a Black and Decker and it came with 2 batteries but man do I regret every moment I ever spent with a gas powered one.

Costco..... Everything they sell is awesome. Love me some Costco.
Not sure how its possible for a company to do that much right
It's not literally correct but Costco has no equal in terms of product selection. There was a great CNBC doc from a couple years back on how they run their business.
They really are head/shoulders above everyone else. Huge fan.
I would have a membership for only the meat selection. I think the meat is of better quality than I can get with the local grocery stores, and it is a ton cheaper.
The highlight of each trip is strolling through the meat aisle looking for Prime cuts. :excited:

Costco turned us on to Bark Thins. The Almond ones are insanely good. Awesome little treat with an afternoon coffee.

Bought some jarred marinara there that was awful. Took it back and got a refund.
Even their returns are awesome.

Like we say in our house. "Costco does it again"
Like their gas prices too! ~$0.05 - $0.10 per gallon cheaper than local average. They also drive neighbor prices down almost to theirs, so you can go across the street if the lines are too long.

I have a pair of Bose "Video Roommates" that are nicely amplified that I use as a "soundbar" for a TV. Nice deep sound, even without a bass box. Got them in 1988 on my way to college for use with a portable CD player! I have another pair of 201s(?) from the same era that I need to hook up to an amp to see if they still work.

Costco rules. We kicked Sams Club to the curb - that place sucks. It's just a bigger Wal-Mart.
Neither here, closest is about 30 miles away, but we are getting a Sam's soon. Yay? <_< We've been teased with Costco for years, maybe now that Sam's is coming Costco will follow.

Right about the time I signed up with them instead of Sam's. Never regretted it. The money I've saved on diapers alone for three kids made it worth it.

Their lamb selection is outstanding

Just bought the showerfloss
Fyi give it a full two weeks. The first few times you use it it will feel weird. But you'll get used to it. Change the tip every four to six months. They are three bucks. Soak the whole thing in vinegar once a year to remove hard water deposits. Install with Teflon tape for superior seal
 Installed it last night and used it then and this morning. Assume just run it along the gum line and b/w the teeth similar to how you would use a toothpick? It was a tad weird at first, but I can see it working great

Bought the Tshirts.

That magnetic screen door looks VERY hillbilly. Any good?
piece o crap imho
The magnetic screen doors are in a cabin we stay in while turkey hunting. We all thought it was a great product--works flawlessly.
How would they work for pets? Would a cat be able to push their way thru?
Works fine.
So if I wanted to keep the pets in, they are a no-go then, right?

:goodposting:

I could see a need for a gas powered one if you live in the country and had a big lot however for most city/surburban size lots that black and decker can handle all your trimming in one charge.

Correct
I HAD one of these, but the Dobermans learned they could go right through it and would it at full speed and get a little tangled in it. It lasted about a week. Smaller animals probably wouldn't tear it up so quickly. It did work great while it was intact, though.

There's just something weird about the texture of those empty seeds. Still awesome, but nowhere near Almond. :hifive:

I like Costco for the simple fact they pay their people a good wage. I remember years ago reading an article how Costco had rebuffed Wall Street, who had been harping on them to cut labor costs so they could be a more profitable company.

Costco treats their employees well, but they absolutely destroy their vendors. Ever wonder why they will carry independent products for only a few years then they are gone?

It goes like this:

Year 1 - Hey, we like your product, let's do business. Vendor is excited, starts making money and ramping up production.

Year 2 - Hey we love your product, but we are only going to pay you 90% of what we did last year. Vendor is still making cash, so accepts and continues making more.

Year 3 - Hey, still loving your stuff, but guess what, we are paying you 60% this year. CVendor will now either break even or take a loss. They have a stockpile that they have to sell so agree to drop their pants and let them do their business.

Year 4 - The vendor either got run out of business by what Costco did to them, or they no longer sell to them because of how badly they got killed financially.

I can attest to that from a guy I know that had it happen just like that to him.

Does the fact that for some products they like them their way in size or packaging bother the vender in some way? I bought a phone there that had a huge box (10x11x6 or something) that was mostly empty. It had to be that way so it could be sold in the open on crates without shelving.

How in the hell does that destroy the vendor?
They invest so much into production and stockpiling for the year to come, expecting that their gains will be the same. Once they are taking a loss on the product, that generally leads to problems with businesses.

I can see how they ran into problems. But Costco isnt indebted into buying more product from them.

Id imagine they have a business without Costco ever being in the picture. Need a better strategy.

You're describing Walmart/Sam's Club to a much great extent. The issue with those two is that if you don't agree to meet their price, there may not be enough of a market elsewhere where you can sell and stay in business.
