Products you believe in - Let's hear 'em (2 Viewers)

I have to do a lot of presentations where I'm bringing my own projector.   I have a pretty good mini one that I also use for outdoor movie nights in the summer, but I dropped it and now the fan doesn't work quite right.

I got this Nebula Capsule, and it is a cool gadget.  Projects a picture up to 110" diagonal, has a 360 degree speaker, and has Android 7.1 so it can stream netflix, hulu, amazon video or whatever.  Can also use it with a USB or HDMI.   Really easy to set up and great picture.   You can also just use it as a bluetooth speaker.
Still recommend this guy?

Any other projector recommendations out there.  When I work out of town a week at a time I am thinking a smaller pocket projector would help and be a larger screen for spreadsheets etc.  I was looking at some of the $50 ones but wondering if I should step up.

Weber Grills. I'm sure there are other great options but I'm sticking with these guys. Buy a new one every 10 years or so.
I still have my Weber Genesis purchased in 1994.  Starts on the first click every time.  I replaced the grates a few years back but that's it.

I replaced the light in my garage with one of these.  My garage didn't have florescent lighting so I just had an old hight watt cfl screwed in.  Installing a florescent was on my to-do list until I saw these LEDs pop up on Amazon.  There are many brands, most are 6000 lumens I found a 7000 for about the same price.

This is a great idea!  Do you like them?

Costa Del Mar for the warranty.

I had a pair of Costas that were roughly 12 years old that had lens delamination and we’re peeing around the arms.  I used these for fishing and yard work, so they were well used.  I sent them to Costa and they are sending me a brand new pair.  They didn’t have my style anymore so I got to pick out an equivalently priced style.  It cost me shipping there and back.  This is the second time o have used the warranty.

Now I need to go to Wally World and pick up some yard work glasses.

I had no idea about their Warranty. I have a pair that the rubber is coming off around the edges. Do you need a receipt or anything??

Picked this up from the Travel Guys thread but if you travel a lot, packing cubes are revolutionary. At least they were for me. Easy to organize, always have someplace to put dirty clothes, just makes travel better. I also invested in a carry on that can accommodate 7 days of stuff along with computer & iPad. Both are linked below, makes traveling, whether for a living or fun, so much better having everything organized and in the compartment above your head instead of at the mercy of the airlines.

It was recommended in here (forgot by whom) a long while back, but the Bug-A-Salt shotgun has been the best investment I've made in quite some time. I've bought at least 10 of them over the last year. They make perfect gifts, and I can't help but buy another any time somebody new shows an interest in blasting flies with a load of salt buck shot. It might be the perfect gift because, for the un-initiated, many aren't going to spend $40 on something that could seemingly be done with a fly-swatter.  But for me, I'm excited to know their life will be changed for $40. What a deal.

Just always make sure to get the Lawn and Garden version (green). It's maybe $2 more than the basic model, but so much more powerful.
Took down a humongous wasp with one last night.  The trophy room is getting full.

I found these Glacier Glove Pro Angler gloves recommended in a fishing thread. They performed the best I’ve ever seen for cold and wet weather fishing. We’re talking 30 degrees F with rain, snow and wind in MN and Canada.

Your hands get wet but they stay warm. It helps to not have to take them off and on all the time. That’s when the heat gets sapped.

HUGE thanks for this. Made a gigantic difference in my garage

Marmot

I have a handful of Marmot items, but my favorite has been my Precip jacket for some time now: I picked it up on sale in 2007 for $62.  The jacket has evolved a bit since then with a better fit and a few bells and whistles added - I have been thinking about upgrading it, but it still worked for the most part.  The one issue I had was when wearing a backpack with the hood up, I would notice that my neck was getting damp.  Upon closer inspection I realized that the interior lining was worn away. so I decided to research the Marmot warranty to see if I had a claim.

I fully expected it to fall under the "normal wear and tear" exception, but I opened a claim and loaded a photo of it anyway.  I had to make a phone call to follow up and was on the phone for less than 2 minutes before the rep had a brand new replacement shipped to me for free.  She said it would take 5-10 days because they were in the middle of a warehouse inventory... but I got the jacket today - less then 48 hours later.

I am pretty stoked - I have been a fan for a while, but this type of service has made them my 1st choice going forward.

Thanks! Ended with a different brand, but same type. Very happy.

No "tall" sizes, they are dead to me.

I got some Osprey backpacks for my kids last year, and they abused them through a year of school.  Halfway through year two, they show no signs of use at all - they look perfect still.  The kids really like them, too.

The model I got was called the Parsec, which seems to have been discontinued.  However, I just bought one that's almost identical for my youngest called the Perigee from REI for $50.  I had to buy something cheap to get free shipping - spent $1.50 to save $8.

My wife was concerned because she saw this in the Amazon browsing history (I didn't even know such a thing existed).

Man, There are three things in my house I believe in. I bought from these guys  a Tornado Coin OP foosball table, and started to spend much more time with my 13 y.o. son,
then my Weber charcoal grill. I guess my friends do not realize how important to create atmosphere while hanging out at my backyard and do not understand why they love spending time together at MY place. Well, and the third thing is my bosch toolset. The first one is for family, the second one - for friends, and the third one - for me.

These things are awesome!  I've had them for almost a year and love them.  They give the yard an awesome glow.  Everyone is impressed when they see the place at night.  I just bought my parents another brand that was on lightning deal.
I do like that soft glow, reminds me of the olden street lamps of yore.

It comes with a car charger

Clearly I have been remiss in my in-depth research into this category as prior to this posting I had no idea these things existed.

My 15 year old Shop Vac has been heavily used and is still a beast.  I expect it to last forever.
Finally replacing this.  Don't really have to, but it is showing some wear, one of the latches that holds the top down easily slips off when carrying it.  Couldn't pass up a deal yesterday for a new 8 gallon one for $30.

True Temper SnoBoss shovel.

I love this thing, as it works great for both our nuisance inch or two snowfalls we get relatively often around here and for heavier snowfalls.  With the light ones, I can walk behind and "plow" my driveway really quickly.  With the heavier ones, the different handles (which feel strange at first) really do save my back and encourage me to use my legs more.

I could probably be a salesperson for it, as I've turned a few of my neighbors on to it.  One was just walking his dog past the house this morning as I was "plowing" and he stopped to ask about it.

I second this endorsement.

It looks like if I had a heavy snowfall and went to use this that I would destroy my back trying to pick up that much snow.

I get that using it to plow would work, if it was a light snowfall.

It does incredibly well just pushing it. The handles also give a great deal of leverage for throwing heavier wet snow.

I pimped this in another thread, figured I'd add it here:  FreePrints app.

You get up to 85 "free" prints per month.  I say "free" because they of course charge shipping & handling, which is obviously on the higher side, but still... $8 or whatever for 85 prints right from your phone is a pretty decent deal.  Photo quality is good.
