Projection Suggestion (1 Viewer)

It may be too difficult, but I would like to see a new type of projection based on game-time decisions. I would like to see projections for the "other guys" are projected to perform IF the starter can't go. For example, this week Brian Westbrook is projected as one of the top backs, but he may not play. If Westy doesn't play, C. Buck will probably perform much better than the current projections, but nowhere near as well as Westy's. I would like to see projections for guys like that for both if the starter plays and if they end up starting.

I agree with this. I think it's strange that a potential scratch is ranked so high. It makes comparing guys like Buckhalter and Dayne difficult.

Yeah, just because C.Buck is filling in for Westy it doesn't mean he'll be nearly as good, but how good will he be? I'd just like to see "the expert's" opinions on how well some people would do if the starter couldn't go. I think that it would only be for players that are questionable. Its hard to compare how well C.Buck would do against say Kenny Watson this week.

I agree, for those who are GTD's ranking their projected replacements would be great. Most weeks it would consist of maybe about a dozen replacement players if you consider all positions....certainly on Doubtful players this would be great, but also helpful on questionable ones as well, especially the "very questionable" ones :lmao:

Great idea. A perfect way for FBG to distance itself from the pack and continue to build value for subscribers and increase market share. No one else has even thought of this. Seriously. How cool would this be???

How do we get them to read my idea? (Them being Joe, David, or any of the other Footballguys). I don't think there would be more than 20 players a week that would need it, but I've looked and not been able to find that type of projection.

They've probably already seen your post. I'm no programmer, but it would probably be rather complicated to implement. If Westbrook's out Buckhalter gets this and Buckhalter gets this, if Westbrook is at 50 percent, etc., etc. Any programmers want to chime in?

I'm only talking about if the starter doesn't play, what would the projection be for the backup? And not for everyone, just for injured players in situations like for Westbrook this past week. For players that are probable, I wouldn't think it would be necessary. And for players that are doubtful, the projections usually already expect the starter not to play, so it would really only be for questionable players.

This is a great idea. On a related note, as a Westbrook owner who gambled and lost, it doesn't do much good for me to find updated rankings/projections effective 8:12pm on Sunday night. I mean, why bother at that point?

I hear you. I have Westy, too, but I played C. Buck and did pretty well. But in those situations, I always feel like I'm flying solo, because there are no projections that take into consideration the outcome of a game-time decision. It would be nice to have projections on Saturday (or even Sunday morning) for those few situations each week that are GTD's.
