Pryor - GONE (1 Viewer)

So does that mean that Oakland has to give up their third round pick in next year's regular draft or is it the third round of the supplemental draft?

Davis drafts like I use to draft in Madden. When all else fails, just get the fastest guy possible. You can't teach speed.

Too bad for Davis, this isn't Madden.

Raiders now without 2nd (NE), 3rd (Pryor) and 4th (Was) round picks next year.
Now, they did get players for those picks...right?

So...yes?
Did you think they got cash for some of them or something?
I'm just pointing out that people are for some reason ridiculing the Raiders for not having 2nd, 3rd, and 4th picks in the draft next year.If they hadn't gotten anything for those picks (and that might still be the case if none of these guys pan out) then there'd be reason to laugh. But they did USE those picks. So I'm not sure what the criticism is.

Decent gamble. And he won't be a quarterback.

Terrelle Pryor could be headed to receiverPosted by Mike Florio on August 22, 2011, 5:09 PM EDT Getty ImagesOn Saturday, former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor said that he’ll be willing to play whatever position his new NFL team wants him to play.Pryor may get a chance to make good on that vow.John Clayton of ESPN reports that the Raiders are more interested in using Pryor as a receiver than as a quarterback. We can think of a few reasons for that. Specifically, 4.36 reasons. The Raiders love speed. And Pryor showed on Saturday that he has incredible straight-line speed. Some Raiders fans are pessimistic. My cousin Josh, one of the few Raiders fans I know, predicts that Pryor will never play a game at any position in the NFL.I think Pryor will. In fact, he reminds me of a former West Virginia jack-of-all-trades who only became a full-time receiver during his senior season, when the Mountaineers were mired in a 1-4 start. Jerry Porter played some quarterback and a lot of safety before landing in the position he’d call home for his NFL career. Pryor, who likely would have inked with — and gotten his ink at — WVU if Rich Rodriguez hadn’t abandoned the program for Ann Arbor, has the ability to play a bunch of positions.Regardless of Pryor’s ceiling at the quarterback position, the Raiders seem to traditionally put more emphasis on the guys who catch the passes than the guys who throw them. And so, instead of making the mistake that the Broncos made in using a first-round pick on Tim Tebow and (to date) keeping him at his preferred position, the Raiders could be ready to see if Pryor can become a combination of the guy on whom they passed in 2007 in Calvin Johnson and the guy whom they’ve been hoping to rediscover for more than 25 years in Cliff Branch.
A few guys have made the transition from QB to WR (with mixed success of course):Antwaan Randle-ElMatt JonesBrad SmithHines Ward played some his soph. year.???

He looked great playing against guys that will be bagging your groceries and selling you life insurance in a month.
Let's ignore the fact that he was playing WITH guys who will be bagging your groceries and selling you life insurance in a month.
He makes the lowly better against the lowly. Good for him.
It's called making chicken salad out of chicken ####.
Funny, chicken salad is what's for dinner tonight. I shall devour in honor of Terelle Pryor.

Which basically means, if he looks terrible, it's because he's terrible. If he looks great, he was playing bad competition.

Got it.

If he starts in the 1st quarter and looks great, I'll eat crow.

In the meantime, yeah, the jury is out until he plays guys that make more than the minimum.

So.....the best of the worst?? Ok, now what?

Should be noted here, not attacking Pryor here, just the logic on display. I have NO idea how he's going to do and don't really care. I think it's funny all the proclamations made in threads like this....most disappear because they are wrong, but if they happen to end up being right WATCH OUT!!!!!

The comment wasn't directed at you specifically just how these things usually go down. I'm still trying to figure out how "best of the worst" gets anyone excited about anything.

Raiders' fans grasp whatever straws are available.
