Please be safe tonight. Lyft and Uber are your friend. If you have too much, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't drive. 

And even if you're just walking, be careful. I have a close friend who lost one of his close friends walking across the street to a drunk driver who didn't see him. 

Be careful. We want to see you next year.

Do yourself a big favor and just take Lyft or Uber to get where you're going.  Then you're forced to take it back and that's a good thing.

This will be my first NYE sitting home sober since 1986. It feels weird, like I'm actually OLD now.

Of course, before you fly your flags at half mast, I did drink an 18 pack and half a pint of rum a week ago over a round of golf, which culminated in my driving a golf cart over a concrete divider in the parking lot at full speed. Apparently, everything in the cart went flying except myself and my passenger - clubs, cooler, sunglasses, Bluetooth speaker, etc. I also apparently got reamed out by the manager/superintendent/whatever that watched me do it, but I don't remember it at all. Never stop partying!

If you need an Uber, get an Uber Select or Lyft Premier. It's still less than a cab, but a nicer car (Lexus, Acura, Lincoln, etc...) and newer car (2010 or newer).

UberX and basic Lyft rides are like the Walmart of rideshare.

Yeah, I've stayed in for the last decade or so on Amatuer Night (my dad also called it that back in the day). Drinking at home, playing Xbox with my kids.
