PSA: Remember to arrange your flex spots to align to game times. (1 Viewer)

I'm sure everyone is doing this but at play-off time with all the Qs and whatnot, make sure you're using your starting slots and player times to maximum advantage to (hopefully) avoid getting painted into a corner. I've moved my later starts to flex for some added flexibility.

I do this every week and I'm the only guy in my league that does. I call it 'proper roster hygiene'.

And one game early this season in the league was decided by a guy leaving a questionable Monday night player in the RB slot who was declared out and he couldn't swap in a WR to replace him. And even after that, that owner hasn't changed his strategy (always puts his best player in RB and lesser players in flex) and no other owners have caught on.

It has become second nature to do this all the time. When choosing my lineup, I always start with players going in the Thursday game. They will be slotted in the actual RB, WR, or TE slots. Then I move on to the Sunday early games, and so on. The flex spots are reserved for the Monday Night games (or latest time for my players). This strategy doesn't just apply to playoff weeks. It starts with the first kickoff in week 1.

Yep, I think it’s an automatic common sense habit everyone knows. Then I notice most of my league mates have TNF or 1pm player in the flex.

Yeah, I've found myself paying more attention to this than ever before. In past years, I would pay attention to the TNF and MNF games, and slot them accordingly, but I don't recall spending as much time "sorting" through my early/late Sunday games. Now, with so many guys "Q" (and the occasional surprise inactive), you really have to sort them to leave yourself as many options as possible at all times.

On the plus side, some sites (Sleeper and maybe FFPC?) allow you to still move a guy (from flex to RB, for example) after he's played/started. I believe MFL, however, does not.

Yep. Had to debate keeping a 3rd TE handcuff or grabbing an extra Monday WR in case something bad happens to DJ Moore before kickoff. Grabbed Ray Ray McCloud just in case. Hopefully won't need to use him but it's better than watching the whole season go down the drain eith nothing you can do about it.

Another tip, especially on Yahoo: (I realize Yahoo is kind of dying, but I'm sure some still play there).

Yahoo lets you drop players after games start as long as they're on your bench. IF you've got a 1st round bye and play on Yahoo: Bench everyone. If anyone tears their ACL, you can drop them and pick up someone else.

You may not have a lot of good options on waivers. Go get an RB handcuff. Go get a defense with a good matchup in the next 2 weeks. No glory in holding your injured guy.

Some other formats have this as an optional thing. I have 1 league on Sleeper that allows drops after the game starts. Be aware of your rules/settings and plan accordingly.
