The Brewer's have designated Kevin Mench for assignment to make room for Solomon Torres. So that's it...with Nix getting designated last week and Cordero leaving, there is nothing left from the Carlos Lee deal. Cordero made positive (putting it mildly) contributions, and the Brewers will get some compensation for losing him, but I still think they could have done better for Lee....

The Brewers got 60 SV out of Coco. The Rangers got two months worth of Carlos Lee. The compensation picks are a wash. Mench, Nix and Cruz were non-factors. The Brewers got the best of the deal.

I still think Nix could help somebody as a 4th-5th OF. Mench is OK as part of a platoon but he only covers his head size in the field.

I always had hope for Cruz, but he's a AAAA type player. His bat is too heavy <slow> in the bigs.

Nix actually went unclaimed, so he was assigned to the Brewer's AAA club. I like his "portfolio" too, but he can't seem to stay healthy and never seems to take advantage when given a shot. A bit surprised some team out there didn't take a chance on him when he was designated.

Also agreed to terms with Eric Munson today avoiding arbitration and assuring the Brewers of having 2 catchers that can hit .235.
