Yes our scoring is set up as decimal (1pt per 20 yds) so this is definitely an area that I need to exploit and try to get these players properly ranked before my draft Saturday. One thing I will say about projecting the points for return yards.if you are doing 1 pt per 25 yards, you will have a lot of yards left on the field. A KO guy might get 48 or 70 yards in returns, and while the totals may line up to 900 yards, it doesn't mean you actually got 36 points for that. It's even worse for a punt returner, as they might get less han 25 punt return yards in a game. The projections I've seen for Hester range from 30-40 receptions, 400-600 yards and 2-4 TD's as a WR (not including KR/PR TD's). These projections give him a high end value of about 100 FF points as a WR and another 100 points as a KR/PR.I actually would value Ginn higher if you get value from return yardage and TD's since it looks like he has higher upside as a WR (130 FF points projected in my league scoring system that gives 1/10 yards and 0.5 PPR). Last years KR/PR yardage would have given him 70 pts in my league at 1/25 yds and his TD's weren't huge last year as a KR/PR so it would appear that the KR/PR pts are more stable than somebody who hits home runs for points like Hester does with his TD's.WR 8??? How many receptions are you projectiing for Hester this year?My league uses it as a way to deepen the value of the WR pool at 1 point per 25 return yards and credit the TD's to the player as well. One consequence of including return yards in your league is that it is a curve ball for some owners who don't pay attention or just go by typical projection models. Return yards are also unpredictable from year to year and the lifespan of a returner is typically only a few years before they only focus on being a WR or RB.I don't know about that, but it does seem to be a relatively unexplored frontier of this game.Return yardage is the new PPR scoring tweak.
I would appreciate having some sort of return yardage option in the Draft Dominator but I certainly can appreciate the unpredictability and potential high unreliability of the data.
Edited to add that Hester gets boosted by 100 pts and Ginn gets boosted by 70 to bring both of their totals to around 200 points which is equal to WR8.
Just the extra work that it will take to prepare for this huge X factor is going to be a major PITA!!!
KR/PR value is virgin ground that FBG's hasn't really tilled yet, IMO. At least not enough to give projections, rankings or to include into the Draft Dominator that I've been able to find.
now if the scoring is set up as a decimal, as in getting .04 points per return yard, then you are in business.
