QB Aaron Rodgers, PIT (3 Viewers)

I hope he retires soon so I can stop hearing about this idiot. He should've ended his career as a Packer.
It seems like yesterday he was waiting in the green room to be drafted. Life flies by, then you’re dead.

I seem to remember people on these boards calling him a self-absorbed, classless idiot back when he was Favre's backup. The signs were all there even back then.
I remember Favre being the classless one, not wanting to mentor Rodgers. I like Aaron Rodgers and hope he goes out with a great year in NY. Maybe two.
I remember when tearing an achilles meant the end of your career - times sure have changed. As people Favre and Rodgers are like two peas in a pod. Great QBs though, and now there's Love - how lucky can one franchise be?
What exactly do people think Love is? Is everyone ignoring the 50% of the games where he was awful? Are people ignoring the complete self destruction on the last drive against the Niners? So odd.

I think Love is an ascending asset.

This is the Aaron Rodgers thread and I don't want to derail any trash talk about him, so I will just quickly say that in most of my leagues, Love finished as a top 5 QB and I agree that he's an ascending player who's probably still learning the game and has a lot of improving to do.

Signing Tyron Smith is a good thing for Rodgers if he still has a couple of years in him.

"The offensive line overhaul is complete and Aaron Rodgers has a new blindside protector at left tackle. Smith is an elite pass protector who ranked fifth among offensive tackles in QB pressure percentage last season, per NFL Next Gen Stats. In the span of a few days, general manager Joe Douglas added three starters -- Smith, left guard John Simpson and right tackle Morgan Moses. The Jets still could draft a tackle with the 10th pick, but this lessens the urgency.".

Schilling's shenanigans were the first for me- nothing surprises anymore. Quacks are going to quack.

More pressing questions: How's the Achilles doing? Garret Wilson shareholders want to know.

So happy GB is done with hi, m
As a Lions fan, I'm kind of bummed out. It would be so awesome if they were going into the season with this crap serving as a distraction. With the Jets, it will have less of an impact, since they are going to find a way to stink regardless of their QB's sanity levels

"Nobody better take Aaron Rodgers lightly because he played four plays last year & he's approaching 40. I've seen that team practice last year and this year as much as anybody out there. That guy, when you go out to watch him in practice, he doesn't look 40."

Watched some of the Jets videos on YouTube for the draft and training camp. Massively improved offensive line. Good receiving corps and fantastic running back. Mentally one of the best to ever play. He doesn't need to scramble like he used to. I'd be shocked if a healthy Aaron doesn't finish top ten in 6pt TD leagues.

I mean....everyone is gonna trash the "LOLZ Jets" until they give them a reason not to.....but if you actually look at the talent on the roster, its hard not to be optimistic.

Of course, health is the big concern here. Rodgers is obviously very old. Tyron Smith is old and has an injury history. (although they have him covered with Olu if he misses a couple of games) Moses isn't a spring chicken and AVT is coming off back to back season enders. But if they all stay upright and Rodgers just overrules everything Hackett tries to call, they're going to score plenty of points.

Going into the offseason I expected Rodgers to be a game manager QB but now my expectation is that he is going for an statement season, as Favre and Brady both did with their subsequent franchises. Yardage I think will be modest as the defense will consistently give good field position and the running game will help chew up yardage, but I bet he'll finish in the top-5 in TD passes due to volume of redzone trips. 4100 yards, 33 TDs / 9 INTs

Not worried at all about whether Rodgers still has the goods. Only worried about injury risk, which is massive but their substantially improved OL makes me feel better taking the chance.

Finished jets OFF tape. Not as bad as I thought. Rodgers clearly had some rust. A little late on some throws, a little off target on a couple others. However, the arm looked live & he made some big throws. They need to get TE's involved next week. Also, Fred Warner is incredible.

The arm & command at LOS are still there for Rodgers. But you see a difference when he’s in the pocket. He can’t post up on his front foot like he used to. So when he waits til the last second to hop and throw or hops to move & throw at once, it’s not the same. At least not yet

Dropped in my Superflex league for someone jumping on the Likely train. Has me really paying attention as the rest of my QBs are all similar low/mid-tier guys. I didn't watch the game on Monday, so trying to get a read on whether Rodgers can still put up some decent numbers week to week.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers has been voted the NFL's most annoying player.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce came in second place, and Dolphins WR Odell Beckham Jr. in third place.

Next Gen Stats
Aaron Rodgers has completed all five passes on the run (8+ MPH) through three quarters for 62 yards and a touchdown.

Rodgers was just 1 of 4 for 6 yards passing on the run in Weeks 1 & 2 combined.

Next Gen Stats
Aaron Rodgers completed +9.5% of his passes over expected (77.1% completion percentage), his 2nd-highest CPOE in a game over the last three seasons.

Since 2016, Rodgers has never lost a game where he posted a CPOE of +9.5% or higher (16-0-1 record).

Rodgers completed every pass he threw targeting in-breaking routes (8/8, 112 yards) and when he was on the run traveling 8+ mph (5/5, 62 yards, TD).

Rodgers threw only two incompletions on passes under 10 air yards all game (23/25, 201 yards, 2 TD).

Rodgers was awesome with a low air yards per throw number. He'd be even better if the play calling was better and his second and third WRs were getting any separation. That'll be the Jets' Achilles' heel all year.

You also hope he doesn't have to move as much as he did, although the Pats really do have a good interior line that can wreak havoc on teams.

Aaron Rodgers' EPA per dropback tonight (0.45) was his best since Dec. 19, 2021 against the Ravens.

His EPA per dropback when pressured (0.17) was his best since Oct. 10, 2021 against the Bengals.

If you are including Mike Williams as his second or third WR, this probably won't change for him. Getting separation is not a strength for Mike... his strength is making catches without much separation. He didn't qualify to be ranked in Next Gen Stats in 2023, but in 2018-2022, he was top 10 in tight window percentage in every season.

Yep. I knew that was the case, actually. Always appreciate your Charger input, JWB.
