Maybe he's just as raw, but just going off what I've read from scouts. Anyway, the point is that he'll be given an opportunity and much longer leash than Willis if only due to draft capital.

I'd say he's more raw than Willis but he's also two years younger and has a lot less playing experience, which to me is a positive. He still has room to grow as a passer. That's one of the reasons I prefer Richardson to Levis. What you saw in Levis's final year is most likely what you are getting in the NFL. AR will likely get better with NFL coaching.

Choosing a dude with 13 up & down (mostly down) starts over Bryce Young on the Texans (assuming that’s how things go down) is a massive risk.

I’m kinda hoping the Texans take ARich at 2 and Young goes to the Colts, but I’m pretty sure that’s now how this is going to go down.

I got Herbert as my starter in my keeper League but I'm definitely going to target Richardson as my Back up. With the team I have if Herbert were to go down for a game or 2 Richardson I think wouldn't hurt me unless my other guys **** the bed completely.

He did well when his OC Brian Johnson was there. Problem was Dan Mullen wouldn't give him a chance despite the fact he had a higher ceiling then Emory Jones. When Jones Transferred and Richardson ended up starting Brian Johnson left for Philly as the QB coach. From the UF people I talk to a lot, many seemed to think Johnson was a bigger loss then most wanted to let on at first. UF Head Coach last year Billy Napier also wasn't taking the reigns off him besides one or two games either. I think that created some issues as well. And on top of that his receiving corps was one of the worst in dropped passes. They were like 113 in Dropped passes or something. So his receivers didn't help him much either

Theres a lot to consider with that number. Stats from college are routinely misleading. Because there's a wide variety of coaching systems and talent levels.

Florida isn't the powerhouse they were before. AR was great as a person and in the locker room team leader wise. He didn't cause any drama and from people I talked too he was always working hard. They think he was trying to be too perfect at times. The only negative on the dropped passes some maybe could fault for him was sometimes he leaves a little too much on the throws but at the same time those who cover stats like catchable balls dropped, UF was towards the bottom of all of College football. He was willing to work to get better too. This wasn't a Cam Newton situation where he thought he could just rely on the skills he had. AR did a lot to try and get better.

Also to show what a good person he is, his nickname use to be AR15 his First Initial of his First and last names and # on his jersey. Do to the Gun violence and use of AR15 in School shootings he announced last spring his brand was transforming to drop the 15 out of his name. So this is a guy very aware of his surroundings and won't create drama in terms of being a diva. He took accountability as well. Many Gator fans felt Napier last year kept a leash on AR on what he could do physical and hampered his play.

Yep it's also why I don't get into a circle jerk over guys from the Big12 or PAC conferences. A lot of misleading offensive stats. There's like zero defense in the Big 12 and a lot of school nation wide use a ton of gimmicky offenses.

If the Lions moved up to the HOU spot they're still unlikely to get the two guys I could envision this becoming a Smith/Mahomes situation. But it sure does feel like Holmes is positioning the team to draft a QB this year.

I thought he got forced out If memory serves. Don Shula. Shula retired in 1996, though there was speculation he was forced out by former Miami Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga.

If the Lions moved up to the HOU spot they're still unlikely to get the two guys I could envision this becoming a Smith/Mahomes situation. But it sure does feel like Holmes is positioning the team to draft a QB this year.

If they don't move up for AR then it's likely Tyree Wilson or trade back.

Lions need to address their defense. They have a few nice pieces but they need to do whatever they think will improve the unit.

6 of their first 7 FA signings were for the defense, we're expecting the majority of the 8 draft picks to be on that side of the ball. They've addressed the defensive backfield in FA, although with 3 expiring deals at CB/Slot CB they'll likely draft one. The Edge is an embarrassment of riches but they need more pressure from DI. Taking another ED at 6 would only tilt the field more though - lot easier playing press man when your front 4 is wreaking havoc.

Detroit's D was horrific the first 8 weeks of 2022, but second half they were middle of the pack with half of the D manned by rookies or 2nd year guys. They're trending in the right direction but still need talent upgrades (DI, CB.)

We have a lot of faith in Brad Holmes. He has had two outstanding drafts and most folks graded this FA period as an A or A- (definitely in the top quartile.) But still a few pieces to add for sure.

We don't need a QB this year in terms of winning our first division title in 30 years. But no one wants to go back to the Lions of the 90s or the 10s, barely making the playoffs and losing a WC game. We have a good foundation to make a SB run in the next few years. As good as Goff played in the second half, I think Holmes is def open to the possibility of drafting his successor. But as he said "It has to make sense."

I’d much rather have AR on the colts and Bryce in Carolina. AR is going to be fun to watch if/when he plays. Whether that’s fun for fans of the defense or offense, and frustrating for both, remains to be seen.

Isray pulled the power move of firing the coach and GM. he never wanted Wentz but gave in and then used it as an excuse of poor play after he wanted Ryan instead. IMHO the smart fans if this goes sideways with Steichen fans need to start questioning ownership not the coaches and players. This is an owner who had Peyton Manning and only managed to win 1 SB Title with him?

I did follow Manning though his whole career and always felt if you switched Tom and Peyton I think Peyton wins more SBs then Brady did in NE. Maybe Brady pulls off 1 or 2 more in Indy but it just seemed that Peyton never had a lot of help from coaches and defensive stand point.

I agree from a defensive standpoint. That is obvious. However, coaching wasn't their problem. Dungy was a good coach. Perhaps if Manning had taken less money they would have had more cap space and afford better defensive players?
