Booed mcnabb and burned jerseys. It wouldn't surprise me if they were decendents of the fans that threw snowballs at Santa Claus. Why are Eagles fans trolling this topic so hard? Just because the Niners are the only competition for the Eagles in the NFC?
The Eagles injured him, isn’t that enough?
It turns to garbage when comments become more about the posters than it is about the players.Welp, this thread has turned to garbage quick.
Yall can have this thread. I'll keep my updates to the 49er thread. It turns to garbage when comments become more about the posters than it is about the players.Welp, this thread has turned to garbage quick.
FTR, I appreciate the Purdy updates. I do have a legitimate interest in the Niners passing game.Yall can have this thread. Why? There were, maybe 4 comments, not any of them truly over the top. Why not ignore them and move on?Yall can have this thread. It's not like Shanahan has a great record keeping his RBs healthy either.
Sure, some of it is Oline. Some of it is playcalling, and not having enough protection back there. And some of it is not moving in the pocket/not being able to escape (Jimmy G) because he's a statue. It's not like Shanahan has a great record keeping his RBs healthy either.
And by the argument made above that's the fault of the oline?
I think it was in the Elijah Mitchell thread last season where a poster went into great detail about the way Shanahan structures a lot of his running plays and how it seems to contribute to higher speed collisions. But this is the Purdy thread and I think wingnut would prefer we keep it about Purdy. It's not like Shanahan has a great record keeping his RBs healthy either.

Brock Purdy completed 5-of-9 passes for 73 yards in Friday’s preseason finale against the Chargers, adding a five-yard rushing touchdown.
Purdy also found Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel for completions, putting a bow on a strong preseason. The second-year question mark allayed concerns about his surgically-repaired elbow this summer and continued to reward coach Kyle Shanahan’s faith in him despite last year’s limited sample size. Playing in one of the league’s most fantasy-friendly schemes with an elite skill corps, Purdy could dramatically overperform his barely-there QB2 ADP.

Brock Purdy looks very firmly in command of the 49ers' offense. He's playing point guard with precision — and that's the job description. Watching his style and level of execution is particularly fitting just about three hours after the 49ers traded away Trey Lance — it's easy to why Purdy so quickly became Shanahan's preferred QB fit and replaced Lance

Brock Purdy so far:
10 of 12 (83%)
114 yards
2 touchdowns
0 interceptions
145.8 QB rating
#49ers
Brock Purdy completed 19-of-29 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns in the 49ers’ 30-7, Week 1 victory over the Steelers, adding three rushes for 20 additional yards.
Purdy also fumbled twice, losing one. That was bad — Purdy never felt the rush on his giveaway — but there were not as many “interceptable balls” as he displayed in his shaky 2022-23 outings. Purdy was mostly just checking down to wide-open pass catchers, but he always knew where they were going to be. And he wasn’t only checking down to wide-open pass catchers. His second Brandon Aiyuk touchdown strike came against sticky coverage in the front right corner of the end zone. It was maybe the best play of Purdy’s young career. Some of us were skeptical about the 49ers’ zero-hesitation decision to run it back with Purdy, but this was a really strong performance against a top-notch defense. Purdy will be on the streamer radar for Week 2 against the Rams.

This is amazing.Lombardi:
Brock Purdy is the first QB in NFL history log a passer rating of 95 or better in each of his first 6 career regular season starts
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.I'm a believer.
I think we’ll see a lot more 3 td games from him this year. He had mostly 2 td games his rookie year.I think it's clear Purdy has the goods as an NFL passer, but what remains to be seen is how much that translates into fantasy production. He's probably got a solid floor, but the upside is still in question.
Yeah, he'll have some spike TD games. My point is that as efficient as he is, the passing game is unlikely to be bombs away unless the game script calls for it. And with their defense, those may be more the exception than the rule. And he's not going to be running the ball a ton.I think we’ll see a lot more 3 td games from him this year. Agree with this 100%. As a Niner fan I'm ecstatic he's so efficient, but he's prob not gonna be a top FF QB. Troy Aikman comes to mind - a good real world QB who won't have eye popping FF numbers.Yeah, he'll have some spike TD games. He's a heck of a story and obviously a good QB, but if we're talking fantasy only here, the story may not be quite as bright.
Yeah, I was thinking Aikman when I wrote that but didn’t want to be disingenuous to Troy’s accomplishments.Agree with this 100%. Akash A:
Brock Purdy finished with the 3rd-highest Passer Rating in Week 1 (111.3).
Starting off 2023 right where he left off in 2022. Watching the game back over and it's amazing how in command he is of the offense after only 9 starts.

The silver lining is that at least he's overthrowing rather than underthrowing. A knock on him has been his arm strength, but that seems to be overblown. He's got good accuracy, so I'm sure many of those long ones will start connecting.

Brock Purdy: 25-37, 310 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT in a 30-point winning effort — with advanced efficiency illustrated below (click link above). Very, very impressive performances just keep coming from #13
111.3 QBR for Purdy tonight. Mediocre as F
