Let me know so I can drop him. I’m sure there are others out there, but I ended up with Burrow and Purdy as my QBs. I was so happy until both got the toe injuries.
My gut says no. He finished last week and had discomfort the following day. He will now have two full weeks.
Hopefully that will be enough.

i tend to agree - think this is more of a short week decision to get him finally right along with the others. if it was a regular week may be different - full 2 weeks to recover and Kittle back soon - may be a good but low window.

At the end of the day the only thing we know about Turf Toe is that we can't predict long term ramifications. They are too tricky to predict IMO.

Who knows how Purdy thinks about that. I'm sure he's a competitor and wants to be out there, but is it in his best interest long term if he keeps aggravating the toe? Again, long term ramifications of turf toe is hard to predict.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) has already been ruled out for the upcoming Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Purdy made his return to the field last Sunday and looked decent under center. Afterwards, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that Purdy is dealing with toe soreness, which is likely related to his turf toe injury. Regardless, there wasn't enough time for Purdy to get ready to play during this Thursday night matchup. The 25-year-old isn't even healthy enough to serve as the emergency backup. The 49ers are fearful that this toe injury could be something that lingers all season long. Fantasy managers better get a viable backup with Purdy already missing three of the first five games of the season. Mac Jones will start under center on Thursday night. Jones has looked solid under center and has some streaming value for this one.--Andy Webb

I'd be happy if he sat until some of the other pieces got healthier - either Pearsall or Jennings get better, Kittle get back. That would make a world of difference coupled with extra rest for the toe.

This might be the most annoying thing for me as a Purdy owner in multiple leagues. I keep getting roster locked when he goes back to "questionable" Tuesday despite knowing he will eventually be declared out.

You've been driving the Purdy bus since I can remember. What is your take on the Purdy vs Jones debate? Do you think Brock's talent is all based on Shanny?

I don't think there's a debate, Purdy is the starter and should be when healthy. Mac has been great in the backup role but I don't think he'd be better for SF than Purdy long term. That's not a knock on Mac, I just think Purdy is a better fit for this team. I've become a big fan of Mac this season though. He's tough as nails and I hope he finds a landing spot as a starter when his time in SF is over.
Purdy is a great fit for what Shanny wants/likes in a QB - he processes quickly, understand the system, and executes it very well. He has his limitations (size, arm strength, and he gets a little more gun-slingy than he should at times), but is more athletic than most give him credit for. Shanahan doesn't need a Josh Allen or Lanar at QB...sure, every coach would love a guy like them, but Brock has shown he's more than capable of running the offense very efficiently, which Shanny really likes. I hope he can stay healthy once he gets back on the field and we get to find out how far he can take us.
Sadly, with the way injuries stack up for SF every frigging year, I'm losing hope that the core guys - Williams, Kittle, Warner, Bosa, etc will ever win a ring, but you never know. Miracles can and do happen from time to time...

It was stated some time back that this toe injury could linger all year. It's looking like that is the case. Turf Toe is a bad injury.

I know Purdy is their long term guy, but does that actually work against him here?
Mathematically, the longer a rehab process takes...you can assume the rate of progress is simply slower. And with Mac Jones playing well enough, is this now a situation of riding momentum while reducing longer term injury exposure to an asset you've got years to come investment in?
Yes, this is my concern too. Mac is playing well and the Niners are winning. So they probably won’t bring him back until he’s 100%. Who knows when that will be…
