QB Dak Prescott, DAL (3 Viewers)

Dak Prescott (right shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Prescott was dinged in the easy win over the Rams. There's zero chance he misses Week 16 against the Eagles in the battle for the NFC East title. He'll be a QB1 for this one after going 21-of-27 for 239 yards, one touchdown, and one pick with a rushing score when these two teams last met in Week 7.

Errrr...isn't anyone just a tad wee bit concerned here?

Crickets despite tweets from Shefter...players taking reps from the backup.

I know it's only Wednesday but where there's smoke there's usually fire.

Anyone reaching for backup plans? The Rivers, Daltons, and Trubiskys are dying for the taking.

Pretty sure I’ll roll the dice with Tannehill

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Dak Prescott (shoulder) will be in "top form" against the Eagles in Week 16.

Specifically, Jones stated, "I'm totally convinced he'll be in top form. We need him in top form and he will be in top form." There isn't another owner in the league more optimistic about his team's chances of playing through injuries. Prescott will assuredly be out there in Sunday's season-defining game, but the injury news is still concerning. Expect the Cowboys to feed Ezekiel Elliott all the work he can handle as long as the offense is able to #Establi####.

lol ol Jerry
Jerry clearly putting the pressure on Dak.

And I bet he's really banged up. So he'll be out there after his jerk owner pulls that crap.

Right when I am ready to move him into the solid starting NFL QB tier.. he goes and craps the bed for a month.

Dak Prescott completed 25-of-44 passes for 265 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Cowboys' 17-9, Week 16 loss to the Eagles.

Prescott's third scoreless performance of the season could not have come at a worse time for the Cowboys, who must now beat the Redskins and have the Giants spring the upset on the Eagles next week to make the playoffs. Playing through a sprained AC joint, Prescott posted his second lowest completion percentage of the year, and lacked zip on his down-field passes. He settled for a 41-yard completion on what could have been a 79-yard touchdown to Michael Gallup early in the second quarter and missed Tavon Austin on a potential 75-yarder in the fourth. Prescott was flat-out inaccurate against an undermanned Eagles secondary. He deserves plaudits for playing hurt, but Sunday it was all too obvious he was nowhere close to 100 percent. Looking ahead to Week 17, Prescott did dismantle the Redskins all the way back in Week 2.

Dak Prescott (shoulder) plans to resume throwing on Friday.

Still feeling the effects of a sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder, Prescott has yet to pick up a football this week. That will change Friday as Prescott will attempt to practice ahead of Sunday's win-or-go home regular season finale versus Washington. Dak didn't look like himself last week, completing a mere 56.8 percent of his throws in a loss to Philadelphia. Prescott will surely gut it out against the Redskins, though how effective he'll be playing with a bad shoulder is another story.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said extending Dak Prescott is the "top priority" this offseason.

The Cowboys are deep in talks with Prescott but have yet to get a deal done. That should happen soon, though the franchise tag still remains an option. Dallas has already said they view Prescott as their quarterback of the future. Prescott is likely to command $30-plus million annually.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said "things are fixing to heat up" in contract talks with impending free agent Dak Prescott.

"I know he wants to get his contract in the rear view mirror and we want it too," said Jones Thursday. "We are going to have a real urgency to get this done." It seems Prescott, who turned down an extension that would have netted him $33 million annually last offseason, is prepared to play hardball with Dallas, implying he could hold out if the team assigns him the franchise tag. Jones said the Cowboys don't feel any added pressure with Patrick Mahomes likely to reset the quarterback market on his upcoming extension. The Cowboys have their work cut out for them with Dak, Amari Cooper and top corner Byron Jones all coming off the books this offseason.

Jay Glazer of The Athletic confirms impending free agent Dak Prescott has not asked for $40 million annually in contract talks with Dallas.

It was reported last week that Prescott turned down an extension worth a whopping $33 million annually last summer. It's going to cost Dallas a pretty penny to keep Prescott, though Glazer doesn't see Dak approaching a $40 million AAV. Despite thorny negotiations, Glazer is confident the two sides will eventually find a middle ground. "Dak will be the quarterback of the Cowboys. Period. End of story," the veteran reporter offered in his weekly Mailbag column. "Whether they franchise Dak, give him an extension, or whatever it is, it’s going to get done."

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys are attempting to sign Dak Prescott long-term prior to March 10.

Dallas is essentially trying to strike a long-term deal before the franchise tag window closes on March 10. Rapsheet subtly adds the Cowboys "are going to" tag Prescott if a deal isn't in place, too. It was recently reported the 26-year-old turned down an extension worth $33 million annually last summer, so the organization will likely be hard-pressed to reach an agreement in just a few weeks time given that Prescott's side holds all the cards. Whatever the case, the two are fully expected to find a middle ground this offseason.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said the Cowboys haven't met or negotiated with Dak Prescott's agent Todd France since September.

Jones added, "No contract with Prescott or Amari Cooper will be agreed upon until CBA rules for the 2020 league year are decided." Still, he reaffirmed the team's long-term commitment to Prescott by noting, "Dak’s our quarterback. He’s our quarterback for the future. We have nothing but the greatest respect for him ... There’s no thoughts like that." The good news is that the Cowboys met with Cooper and his agent Chafie Fields at the Pro Bowl in Orlando. Jones said the conversation was "very upbeat." Recent reports have been all over the place with Prescott, but most recently NFL Network's Ian Rapoport noted the Cowboys are attempting to get a long-term deal done prior to March 10. That is when the franchise tag window closes. Look for talks to heat up following the combine.

Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Dak Prescott is "definitely" the team's franchise QB.

McCarthy added that the contract status is a "business matter." The Cowboys have been consistent at all levels through the organization with confirming Prescott is the team's QB of the future, but the clock is ticking to sign him to a long-term deal. The franchise tag window closes on March 10. Complicating matters is that reports indicate ongoing CBA discussions could take more than a week to clear up, and the Cowboys have said they don't plan on re-signing either Prescott or Amari Cooper until those matters are done.

ESPN's Jenna Laine reports the Cowboys are expected to franchise tag Dak Prescott.

The window for a long-term deal to get done is closing rapidly, as the franchise tag window closes on March 10. Rumors and reports seem to be indicating that Prescott will receive the franchise tag, WR Amari Cooper will get a long-term contract, and CB Byron Jones may very well be shown the door. There appears to be little-to-no chance that Prescott sees the open market, but it's still a bit concerning the Cowboys haven't been able to get a deal done despite their public desire to do so since last offseason.

The Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys' latest offer to Dak Prescott includes $33 million annually with $105 million guaranteed.

It's the same AAV Prescott turned down in September. The guarantees are likely higher, but it may not be enough to lock up Prescott. Dallas has been in a holding pattern with both Prescott and Amari Cooper due to CBA negotiations. The Cowboys have until Thursday to franchise Prescott — something that's fully expected to happen if the sides can't reach a long-term deal.

He just isn't worth it, IMHO. If he doesn't accept it, let him test free agency Jerry.

Jeez......would I like $2,062,500 per game? Heck yes!

Let him walk. The most overrated player in the NFL is Dak Prescott. He is has great numbers against bad teams and is strictly pedestrian against good teams. Not elite, not great, nor special.

certainly not the richest contract in history...

they wouldn't be any worse off with nick foles at qb

He hasn't been........nor will he ever be.......on one of my fantasy teams.

But Wentz and Goff are worth their contracts?  Dak's resume is better whether you like him or not.

Who overrates him? I don't think I've ever seen or say something positive about him. Even analysts and commentators. And yet he puts up big numbers and has won a lot of games. It's so weird. I'm not saying he doesn't inflate his numbers against weaker teams, but so does practically every other QB.

I always wonder. If he played for a different team and his name wasn't "Dak" he'd probably be much better thought of.

The fact that he has been offered in excess of $105 million dollars ($33 million AAV) says it all. Far more than words could ever convey.

ESPN Dallas reports the Cowboys have sent a new deal to Dak Prescott.

The Cowboys have increased their latest offer to just over $33 million annually. This doesn't change much, but it's obviously a good sign the sides are still talking. The Cowboys plan to franchise Prescott if a deal isn't done before Thursday's deadline.

While I think Dak is better than Foles, you are not far off.

I laugh at all my fellow Cowboy fans who think he is stellar. He has EVERYTHING set up for him and they went 8-8 last year. He plays decidedly worse against good teams.

Different philosophies. You thought Dez Bryant was a good receiver. People see different things.

Dak wants out, but doesn't wanna be the bad guy.

He feels he's been disrespected and the Franchise Tag will bury things. At that point, your employer is telling you that you're not worth the gamble
