Daniel Jones just switched agents and told the Giants $45m per year isn't enough. He's delusional but he might get it. Hurts isn't getting less than $50m per year.
Donald Duck Voice: "Oh my Gawd!"
Bad news for Miami which IMHO has the most challenging 36 month clock on a Rookie deal at QB
Tua is going to get paid, i've been telling this to my Miami buds around here in the team thread, mostly falls on deaf ears. they think he will play out for the $4M that is left on the 4yr/$30M rookie deal he received back in 2020.
Concussions or not, he is not taking the field for $4M
But this is the Jalen hurts thread and I don't want to start a full on hi-jack
Not sure if you are following but ... there are serious questions about Tua's future. Lot of people think he should retire now before he has no choice (i.e. his next concussion)
There is no way in the world that Miami or any team in the NFL is going to pay a guy who is one hit to the head away from forced retirement, $40-50 Million a year.
It would be irresponsible for the team and for Tua's health
Who are a lot of people?
Coach Mike McD, Owner Stephen Ross, GM Chris Grier, what people are talking up his retirement?
Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, other Miami Dolphins? What people that are in this on a day to day basis?
His parents, wife and family? What people are talking about him having no choice?
The doctors who work on Tua? They must be the people saying he must retire...no?
A lot of people is just a few talking heads on ESPN/TV that if they had it their way the NFL would be shut down tomorrow.
I haven't heard a single person in the Miami offices or anyone on the team payroll talk about Tua having to sit out in 2023.
The other people are just voices on social media platforms. There's a concussion protocol and he's cleared it and when '23 starts, he'll be the Week 1 starter.
Will he make it Week 17? Difficult to predict but the track history in recent years is not good going back to college.
