Jayden looking great passing in scrimmages with Miami. We'll see more on Saturday in a "real" game. Plus, in regular season games, he'll get lots of rushing yards and TDs.

If Daniels keeps trending positive I will be tempted to wait on QB until 8-9 ish and snag him. Had been targeting K. Murray a bit earlier. Would allow for bulking up on RB-WR-TEs.
Was looking at the schedules of later round QBs you could pair Daniels with and Goff's schedule jumped off the screen:
* LAR,
* TB
* @AZ
* SEA
3 of first 4 games at home in a dome where he excels and the other one against AZ out west against that lousy D.
If Daniels isn't quite ready, you roll with Goff early and hope Daniels turns into gold as the season progresses.

It's only camp and a few games, but Jayden does seem to be looking for Terry early and often, while there does not seem to be a viable second option as of yet in the passing game. I'm moving Terry up my draft boards for sure.

Love this from the article: "After the game Quinn told reporters -- with a nod to the movie "Animal House" -- that Daniels was on "double secret probation" because he didn't slide on the play."
If they haven't already, team brass needs to lock Daniels in a room and watch nothing but Anthony Richardson film from last year.

RG3 is recent enough history I'm sure they have continually been in his ear about protecting himself.

Still like what I see in Week 2, Miami brought slightly more elaborate schemes and play calls then he saw in Week 1 of the preseason

I drafted Love during our draft a few days ago and Daniels kept dropping and dropping. I never take two qbs as high as I did, but at a certain point you can't pass on the value.

Are we worried about his offensive line at all or the fact that Terry McLaurin is his only receiving threat?

Everything you’ve written is true, and Vegas seems to agree, giving Washington a lowly 6.5 win total.
But what happens if he runs for 10 TDs this season, and puts up a Justin Fields career 55.5 average rushing yards per game (JD averaged 94.5 per game his last year in college), while throwing league average passing stats? We’d be looking at a top 5 fantasy stat line, and I’ll take that in the 8th or 9th round of a redraft league every time.

I think as much as of that was on Howell as the line. I noticed Howell took multiple sacks for Seattle in a preseason game.

It seems he's being discussed like 1,000 yards and 8 TDs+ is his floor. That 2nd season from Fields was the 2nd best QB rushing season of all time. The most ever by a rookie is 815 (RG3). I'm not saying it isn't doable, but I would definitely be concerned about injury if he runs that much, and if I were Washington I'd try to avoid those types of plays. He isn't built like Cam Newton.

Maybe? His pocket time was pretty average. Getting the ball out in 2.4 seconds meaning on average he isn't holding it too long. Fields was 2.8 for example, highest in the league.
65 sacks, more than any other QB. 57 times knocked down, 4th most. 39 hurries. They also asked him to throw the ball 612 times. Most in the NFL. I hope they don't do that to Daniels.

With Bieniemy out of town I expect the sacks to come down significantly. There's a reason Bieniemy was one and done as an OC and couldn't find a job at the NFL level.

Daniels in a Kliff Kingsbury O should be exciting for fantasy purposes at the very least. I expect him to put up elite rushing #s year one.

His rushing is what makes him appealing in fantasy as long he doesn’t go in the Justin Fields direction. He’s a better passer and overall QB than Fields however. If you’re not on the field, your rushing prowess won’t do much good for fantasy.

I also love how he has a legit WR1 in Terry and a good RB in Robinson. I think Noah Brown was a sneaky pickup for him too.
His deep ball is legit and I bet he turns it loose early.

How do you know this? Fields was more accurate than Daniels in college. He also had a better yards per attempt, adjusted yards per attempt, and a better overall QB Rating.

You know the numbers better than I do obviously, but I like what I've seen from Daniels in the pocket better than Fields. I probably wouldn't use Field's college stats at this point since we've seen enough of him in the NFL. Plus, he has already lost his position, Daniels hasn't.

Well, yeah. I can't use Daniels' NFL stats to prove he's a better passer than Fields either. Yet to be determined. Just pointing out Fields had better numbers as a passer in college.

Well, I haven't seen that passing from Fields in the NFL. That I do know. I married into an OSU family 27 years ago, so I have to watch them every week, so I am a Fields fan. I have my doubts he will ever be much of an NFL QB. His legs is what made him a good fantasy QB, but if you're on the bench....

Got him the 11th round of a 12 team league last night, first backup taken, every other team had a QB, Staff and Goff went before him, I had Mahomes but I couldn't pass the value
Fields had one of the greatest collection of WRs ever when he was in college

I do remember Greg Cosell spotlighting the issues he felt Justin Fields would have in making the transition from college to the pros, and those concerns have proven prescient.
I just actually watched his review of Jayden Daniels last night, and he was significantly more bullish.

ended up with this guy as my QB1 in one league. oops. i'm in!
I actually liked the tape on him better than I liked the tape on Caleb. Caleb has some tools in his arsenal that Daniels doesnt but as a passer I really like Daniels. main difference is the landing spot. Caleb was dropped into an offense loaded with talent and Daniels wasnt. theres talent but not to the same degree Caleb will benefit from.
