QB Jayden Daniels, WAS (19 Viewers)

Daniels MUST learn to slide or at least get OOO. Dude took some huge, unnecessary hits in college that won't fly at the next level. I think he is going to be an awesome fantasy option.

Jayden Daniels already has 56 rushing yards at halftime. He’s going to be a good one, like 2022 Fields. The TDs will come.

I’ll take the 28 point career start. This guy’s 2022 Justin Fields reincarnated!

He’s probably going to be on a lot of fantasy championship rosters, when all’s said and done.

My only concern was how bad the #2/#3 WRs are in DC right now. Terry will have much better days, and both RBs are going to be good weapons in the passing game. But Zaccheaus, Brown, and/or McCaffrey are gonna have to step up for Daniels to reach his full potential. He is the real deal though, looked very calm and poised today IMO.

Hell of a first fantasy outing for the guy!
Really? How so?

-I think he did OK as an NFL Qb going 17 of 24 for 184, no interceptions but he's a QB and also didn't throw a TD either
1,200+ rush yds and 34 rushing TDs, are we going to project that for the '24 season?
That game was a complete BLOWOUT, I would make some notes about context on your scratch pad and how Daniels scratched out 30 points
Also I doubt he was started in most Redrafts so it will be interesting if folks insert him next week and he only produces 17-18

-I've been a fan since I saw him in preseason, I'd like to see him connect ore with his receivers, defenses will get wise quick to him taking off
Bucs were up 37-13 at one point

Baker had 300/4TD, that's an impressive FF day IMHO

You said it yourself, nearly 30 fantasy points in his first career start vs. a good D. I didn't say he had an amazing passing game, specifically fantasy outing which is 100% fair.

He has a lot to work on of course but I expect him to have better passing games / worse rushing games, but still be a very viable fantasy starter.

If they run him that much he won't be around for the fantasy playoffs.
He needs to learn how to strap his damn helmet too. It fell off 2-3 times and actually took away one of his rushing TDs (Before he eventually ran it in again). If he didn't follow up with that TD run, I imagine there would have been a lot of people who lost their weeks due to his chin strap.

And he did it with 17 completions vs another running QB named ARich who also had a decent FF day but I would argue only 9 completions is alarming
I agree with you, Daniels seems more sustainable but he's on the thin side and I would like to see him avoid some of these big hits he took

Robert Griffin III
Jayden Daniels will be special. Not because he was solid today and didn’t throw any interceptions. Not because he lead the team in rushing yards with 2 TDs in his debut. But because when he scored down 17 in the 4th, he didn’t celebrate. He only wants and cares about winning.

I was watching the game, and Washington would march down the field with ease, get into the red zone, and proceed to get multiple false starts/illegal motions that would kill the drive and end in a field goal.

Maybe some of that has to do with communication problems that come with a rookie QB. But Daniels would have had a much bigger day without those penalties imo.

I noticed the same. If even one of those 7 FGs turned into a passing TD, everyone would feel satisfied with his fantasy total. With those legs, week 2 was his floor.

There will be better days.

Typical for a bad team with a rookie QB.

I think it’s safe to say at least 2 or 3 of those FGs were due to stupid penalties by the offensive line. His breakout is coming. In the meantime zero turnovers and the offense never punted. There are some very positive things going on. But the line and WRs could definitely help him a lot more.

I liked Jayden, Caleb, Drake, and Pennick. Seems to me they all have potential. But at this point, man am I happy we took Daniels. There certainly seems like huge potential. His QB rating of ~95 thus far has to be higher than the QBs that WAS has had in 10 years. And he's in game 2.

Jayden Daniels is, and has always been QB1 in this draft.

I got dragged 6 months ago alllll over this app with thousands of people saying the wildest **** to me because of it. I kept ALL the receipts.

We will all be watching him play for a long time. Enjoy it. 🤝

He keeps this up, its entirely possible Washington starts like 7-2. At Baltimore is really the only likely loss on the schedule the next 6 weeks. I mean look at this schedule:

Week 4=at Arizona (50-50 game)
Week 5=Cleveland (feels like a collapsing team)
Week 6=at Baltimore
Week 7=Carolina
Week 8=Chicago
Week 9=at NY Giants

If Daniels can stay healthy, this is a playoff contender.

ETA: Imagine if any of those 7 FGs (all but 1 from inside the 15) from week 2 turned into TDs. Daniels would be QB1 overall (even ahead of Allen) right now.

Numbers and performance aside, he just 'looked' like he knew what he was doing.

Smiling, upbeat, but focused. In command in the huddle, in command of the sideline to get the plays in, send in the right groupings etc.

Good composure.

He left a lot of meat on the bone too. Missed 2 likely long TDs to Sinnott and McLaurin.

Extremely impressive outing, and I don't think it was just the Bengals D, who mostly stifled Mahomes last week.
