QB Joe Burrow, CIN (1 Viewer)

Well, that’s a relief. Right? The fantasy docs were speculating anything from a high ankle sprain to a lisfranc to an achilles.

Update: Definitely no bueno. Until today, I had no clue that turf toe could put you on the shelf for 3 months. I figured we were looking at a Brock Purdy-like prognosis of 2-5 weeks.

Not even close on the replay, I wonder how many were watching it live, nothing said season ending injury but faceless social media accounts can't wait to stir the pot

What did they determine?
Apparently done for the year according to social media and anyon in the SP that has him on a roster and also he's been labeled as soft
I've never viewed. Burrow as soft
It's pretty heinous and offensive honestly
He's had terrible season ending injuries but that's due to the OL and a HC/FO/Owner that do not prioritize his well being with a better OL

Unfortunately, we’re probably still looking at a lengthy absence. Folks are clowning on him by saying stuff like Mahomes would play through it, but turf toe on your plant leg isn’t a joke.

Guys, that doesn't look like turf toe. They have one of those internet fantasy doctors and he doesn't think so, and that's the same damn scooter Aaron Rodgers was on that fateful Monday night.

This doesn't make sense. Joe Burrow is a millionaire. Why would he buy a used scooter?

If Chase wasn't my WR1 in my serious league then I might LOL, but probably not even then. I like Joe and he's had some bad injury luck.

It's weird. I thought his line was such garbage that I almost added Browning to my QB-needy, broke FAAB team this morning and just passed on it. Bummer.

We are all guessing. I remember I was all nervous when I read Waddle injured and it “did not look good”. He came back. Now Joe did not come back and I’m sure he’s injured, but we don’t t know the how bad.

We don't. At all, and I don't mean to say I know what it is. I'm talking probability here that is backed up by guys that get paid or volunteer to internet doctor.

Maybe it's just a foot injury. It really could be.

Yeah, the thing that concerned me was the mechanism- full ankle flexion coupled with an attempted extension, then the ankle gave out. That’s the same MOI we saw with Jayson Tatum, Aaron Rodgers, etc.

But the Bengals are reporting that it’s his toe, so I guess we should take them at their word until we hear differently.

Yes, we should. You're completely right. I'm not a doctor. Well, wait. All I will say is that I'm not qualified so don't listen to me. But I have a hard time trusting a team that doesn't even pay for a cart to take guys off of the field. Perhaps that's wrong of me, but I can't take it at face value.

Everyone is alluding to an Achilles injury
I doubt he could walk to the locker room on a torn Achilles so can we stop that nonsense for a bit, please?

MoP not mad at any individual posts in here during the game HOWEVER
Let's knock it off with the Joe Burrow is soft comments, the Shark Pool is better than that

I have him in a SuperFlex Dynasty so believe me I care but Joe Burrow is one of the best QBs in the NFL and he plays on a team that has a hard time protectiing him
He's had a couple injuries that caused him to not finish the seasons but I would not call him soft
He doesn't tap his helmet and say get me out of here when he's on the field

Thank You Everyone

Torn ligaments per Sleeper-Bengals

Joe Burrow is believed to have turf toe with torn ligaments. The expectation for his return would be several weeks.
Torn ligaments are going to be worse than that turf toe i'm guessing
Several weeks could mean 3-4? 6-8?
I really don't know so it's all reckless speculation but that sounds terrible and the entire FF season could be wiped out
If it's only four weeks after all this I'd be more than happy.

Road games at MN and Denver next 2 weeks, yikes!
Then Detroit at home and Green Bay on the road, double yikes!

Tough row to hoe, but JB6 can hold down the fort. Just want Burrow in November+.

I've had turf tow several times and it sucks. Now with torn ligaments I'd expect surgery is inevitable. Even without surgery ligaments don't bounce back/re-tighten even with time. And like concussions, each incident just piles on previous incidents (when surgery isn't performed.)

JB6 (are we really calling him that already?) can definitely keep the bengals afloat. Had a hell of a rookie season .. although, it was under a different OC

I’m gonna preface this by stating that I’m no doctor. But, my understanding is that turf toe = sprained toe, and the torn ligament diagnosis just indicates the grade. Grade 2 = partial tear and grade 3 = complete tear. So, let’s just hope we’re dealing with a grade 2…

Duke Manyweather
@BigDuke50
Had this same injury + dislocation. It’s brutal! I had to leave the country to go get it, but stemcells really helped me after surgery

Isn’t this all speculation at this point ? For all we really know he could try and play through it to some degree sooner rather than later? Someone mentioned earlier that Mahomes had a grade 2 and played through it ?

We know that they've already asked the infamous Dr. Robert Anderson to give a 2nd opinion. If they're asking him, they really didn't like the 1st opinion and are hoping for a miracle.
