Welcome back, Kyler.
The week couldn't have went any better. I won using Cousins, and Kyler came back strong.Welcome back, Kyler.
Kyler Murray completed 32-of-49 passes for 383 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Cardinals' 30-23, Week 14 loss to the Rams Monday night.
Murray rushed seven times for a team-high 61 yards in this one, but he was held without a touchdown for just the second time this season despite the Rams missing All-World CB Jalen Ramsey, who was placed on the COVID list Monday afternoon. Murray's 49 attempts were a new season-high, and the 383 yards were his second-most of the year. But he had two costly interceptions, one at the Rams' goal line on a tipped pass by Aaron Donald and the second deep in his own end on a floater to Leonard Floyd. Murray's fantasy day wasn't all that bad, thanks to the 444 total yards, but James Conner scored both of Arizona's touchdowns via the ground. Murray should rebound in a big way next week against the lowly Lions.

They’ve totally become a very good running team in the red zone. I’m not confident this week. Game could be over at halftime.
Such a talent and an unstoppable force when he is healthy.
And his size dictates this is a limitation.
I think Jay Cutler is their QB coach. His body language might be the worst I have seen in the NFL. The throwing his head back arms in the air temper tantums on penalties, moping away from the line with head down and shoulders slouched, and it doesn't improve on the sidelines.

Kyler Murray completed 23-of-41 attempts for 257 yards, a touchdown, and an interception in the Cardinals' Week 15 loss to the Lions, adding four rushes for three yards.
Murray and the Cardinals were asleep throughout their humiliating loss to the Lions, out-hustled and outplayed throughout. Murray was yanked in the blowout loss with four minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Under duress from start to finish against a middling Detroit front seven, Murray missed a handful of make-able throws. The Cardinals drove deep into Detroit territory a few times in the first half and came away with a single field goal. Murray avoided taking off from the pocket time and again, instead scrambling behind the line of scrimmage and hoping Arizona wideouts could get open. They did not. Murray, after a red-hot start to 2021, has accounted for one touchdown over the team's past two games and has multiple touchdown passes in just one of his past four outings. Hopefully he can get it together next week against the Colts, though it might not matter for Kyler drafters who were likely done in by their QB's lackluster Week 15 performance.

Wouldn't even throw it outside at all. Basically baited into the Colts defensive game plan to perfectionHe's so bad. He's keystone cops meets QB.
Kyler Murray completed 27-of-43 attempts for 245 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in the Cardinals' 22-16, Week 16 loss to the Colts, adding four rushes for 74 yards.
Murray's best play of the day was a 57 yards zone-read run that he took for 57 yards, the longest run of his career. The broadcast pointed out that Murray hit 20.78 mph on the play, the fastest any quarterback has run all season. Murray totaled 74 yards on the ground and hand another 10+ run called back by a holding penalty. Murray wasn't quite as impactful through the air. He did have some nice throws, including a TD to Antoine Wesley that he dropped in the bucket from 24 yards out. Murray struggled a bit with accuracy, however, with balls both sailing high and landing at his receivers' feet. Murray also struggled to run the hurry-up offense without bleeding the clock when down two scores in the fourth quarter. Murray gets a very difficult test against the Cowboys in Week 17. He will be a QB1 but will have a lower floor than is ideal for the fantasy championship game.

Good to know Coach KK thinks he''s gonna give it everything he's got...maybe they can all watch Rudy the night before and get motivated.

-Hang on i gotta make a phone call and double my action on the Rams for Monday Night.
I think he's going to have a good game. Also as a Lions fan, all I can tell you is don't underestimate Stafford's ability to make a bunch of great throws but at least one soul crushing pick 6. Then have to mount a 4th quarter comeback.Ministry of Pain said:Good to know Coach KK thinks he''s gonna give it everything he's got...maybe they can all watch Rudy the night before and get motivated.

You guys have short memories. Before his injujry in both 2020 and last year, he was BALLING. One of the best QBs in FF. If anything, we can talk about the concern of him staying healthy because of his smaller size, but saying he's decent? Come on. Through the first 11 weeks of 2020 he was the #1 scoring QB in our league (4 pts passing TDs) And this year in weeks 1-7 before he was injured he was the 3rd highest scoring QB (and 8 points from the highest scoring QB) and top 5 when he returned weeks 13-17 (although I will argue he wasn't the same QB, plus not having Hopkins did hurt)Murray is a decnt QB but nothing more
Lol, you pretty damn phunny you are.Murray is a decnt QB but nothing more
I'd like to see Kyler Murrays stats with vs without DeAndre Hopkins in the lineup

Murray is a solid QB, who is 24, and improved each year of his career. He's probably a little overrated because of his fantasy production, but its not like he hasn't been worth the #1 overall pick by any means.
Im actually eying both Dak and Kyler for discounts next year. Dak was coming off a huge injury and was still banged up. Kyler was balling until he lost Hopkins and got hurt himself. The last games for both were ugly and hoping they slip a bit and can be had much cheaper. I still like both offenses. This is what I give him over Dak. I feel we know Dak is an average QB now.
Kyler has time to improve. But holy moly did he physically and mentally fold in that game. Physically and mentally came up really, really small.
Its also a little troubling that the Cardinals have majorly faded down the stretch all 3 years of Murray's career. I think that is more of a Kingsbury issue than a Murray issue, but I can't be 100% sure. This is what I give him over Dak. I feel we know Dak is an average QB now.

Yeah, I mean, it might be nothing, but in the social media age, it's usually not nothing. Murray is absolutely making a statement here of some sort.In the not really news but may be newsworthy category, after the Pro Bowl, Murray deleted any reference to the Cardinals on his social media. He deleted just about everything except a pic of him and CeeDee Lamb and a pic of him winning the Heisman. He unfollowed the Cardinals and there is nothing discussing or showing him as a Cardinals player.

Who knows what that means if anything, but one might connect the dots and conclude that things may not be going well out in Arizona.
Should have played basketball if he wanted to choose teams.Yeah, I mean, it might be nothing, but in the social media age, it's usually not nothing. Murray is absolutely making a statement here of some sort.
The question is how significant is the damage to their relationship, and is it salvageable.
Yikes.

He's shown some upside. I don't know if that was a statement or just a Rams defense that came to play.Murray made his statement in the Rams game. Can`t remember ever seeing a worse performance by a QB in a playoff game. Murray is at his ceiling right now with no more upside.
Murray should be the one doing everything he can to get a new contract.

I've seen Murray play at a very high level. I was a doubter when he was drafted. That team was discombobulated. I think a lot of it was on Kingsbury.
That, and Nuk getting hurt.
I don’t know if it’s his size. One thing that I noticed in his rough end of season stretch was really bad touch on short passes. Poorly placed fastballs.Maybe but his size is turning out to be a detriment. I was a huge Murray fan and still think he is a good QB.
I know Murray is listed at 5-10 but he looks smaller.
And he takes wayyy too many sacks that he shouldn’t. That’s probably been the thing I’ve noticed most about him since he’s been in the league. A lot of the sacks he takes are purely on him.I don’t know if it’s his size. One thing that I noticed in his rough end of season stretch was really bad touch on short passes. Poorly placed fastballs.
Agreed. It doesn't help that it feels like every time I see him play is when he has a bad game, but it just seems like he is a guy that crumbles when you give him the ball with two minutes and you need a score (the Hail Mary to D Hopkins in 2020 notwithstanding of course), and unless you are Aaron Rodgers, great QBs in this league make their bones by being great at the end of games on a regular basis (Brady, Peyton, Elway, Marino, Montana, etc.).Murray made his statement in the Rams game. Even those who aren't all time Legend level sustain careers with clutch performances to win games. Stafford, Rivers, Eli, Tannehill, Ryan and others all have a very healthy number of 4th quarter comeback performances.great QBs in this league make their bones by being great at the end of games on a regular basis (Brady, Peyton, Elway, Marino, Montana, etc.).
Not a good look. I’ve been a Murray fan since he came into the league, but there have been many times where I have questioned his leadership on the field. He seems to pout a lot and be hesitant to accept any accountability. Also, he played like complete crap against the Rams. He should be a accepting that responsibility as the leader of his team not whining about being a scapegoat. This took another turn, from Mortenson.

The odd vibe between the @AZCardinals and Kyler Murray is indeed alarming:
Murray is described as self-centered, immature and finger pointer, per sources.
Murray is frustrated with franchise and was embarrassed by playoff loss to Rams and thinks he’s been framed as the scapegoat
Where’s it headed?
Despite the acrimony, the Cardinals expect things to calm down and Murray is their QB.
Select veterans hope to reach Murray on how he handle adversity better.
Coach Kliff Kingsbury also is self-scouting where he can provide better alternatives for QB.
Many times if a lot of stories come out with conspicuous timing, someone is pushing an agenda. Kyler hasn't been branded as a headache or selfish or immature for 3 years, but all of a sudden when he seems to want out of AZ all these stories come out. That doesn't mean they're not true, but the timing is a benefit to the Cards because it limits Murray's options if other teams aren't interested. Take it all with a grain of salt.Bracie Smathers said:Pete Smith@_PeteSmith_
Meanwhile, it's difficult not to see the carpet bombing on Kyler Murray's character and think there are some people in that organization that need someone to eat the blame while also trying to limit his options.
-----------------------------------------
Hadn't thought that the Cards have been putting out this message which does limit Murray's options to Arizona if he's viewed as a character risk by the rest of the league.
Arizona isn't trying to drum-up trade interest.
Seems odd to throw your starting QB under the bus if they want him and seems even stranger to throw him under the bus if you want to trade him.
Could be an individual within the org trying to deflect blame because it is an odd thing to leak.
