Any Ryan owners out there getting nervous? I'm starting to think I need an alternate plan. The O-line is allowing him to get killed back there.

I am worried. The injuries happened two weeks ago and in the last two games the results have been eh. I have Flacco as my #2 and wasn't expecting id ever start him over Ryan, but next week I think I will with a home game Vs Ryan's Falcons.

yes, very nervous. I have him in two leagues and in neither league I am carrying a backup.
This might be the week where I pick up a backup QB as both someone who can be a bye week replacement in week 9 and potentially start for me if Ryan continues this way.

When does this line look to get healthier? As it stands right now Ryan is not a lot better than some of the lower-end QBs on the wire like Bortles, Carr, and Orton. You can cut him unless you're in an 8-team league but his trade value is low right now and you're going to have to have a good Plan B to stream or totally replace for now.

2015 at the earliest. The OL is worse than last year now with 2-3 if not 4 starters on IR for the year.
The OL could be nicknamed 'the swinging door'.

Boy am I glad I picked up Palmer before this week. 3rd subpar game for Ryan and hard to see light at the end of the tunnel. Worse is he is taking Julio Jones down with him.
I have Eli as my backup. The Giants are on a bye. God help me, I'm thinking about picking up Orton and playing him against the Jets this week instead of watching Ryan get killed by the Lions.

As a Falcons fan and Daily Fantasy sports player who has a choice to play him, I definitely will not. He simply does not have the time to throw the ball with now FIVE starting offensive lineman down for the year. That and I have read that Mathews is playing hurt as well.
His pocket breaks down so quickly the receivers don't even have enough time to get any seperation. It's sad to watch. He has the ability to explode at anytime, is playing on turf, but I believe the stadium is open? I'm not sure about that. Against Detroit, no way would I start him.

that O line. Mathews may be playing hurt but he also had multiple false starts. Why Steven Jackson keeps getting trotted out there in lieu of Smith is baffling. This team had such promise just one month ago but when the injuries start to pile up and coaches aren't adapting :trainwreck: I'll be streaming D's and Suicide Pooling against them as much as possible.

The fat guys blocking for him are simply turnstyles. This past week 2 guys failed to block one of the defenders. The guys just ran around the one guy and the other guy was a total non factor in the play.
Starting Hoyer over Ryan. The only way Ryan performs is A. fluke big TD or B. if the Lions take a huge lead and he gets garbage points. With no Calvin this week either I would say that it won't be a blowout and will look like Lions-N.O last week except Ryan laying on his back all game long.

Amazingly that guy is supposed to be pretty good even though he was a UFA. May be better than Konz. The problem is RT, LG and RG. They are just fat guys dressed up as NFL football players.

Anyone considering outright cutting him? Trade value isn't great unless you can package him to unload.
I'm in a 10 team. I'm thinking about cutting him for either Palmer or Tannehill. My other QB is Kaep (on bye). I can't play him essentially on the road against Detroit. Palmer has scored 20 or more in the 3 games he's started this year. And Tannehill's two low games are still are higher floor than Ryan's low games. I doubt anyone will pick him back up this week. So I'm probably hedging a little. But his struggles now just like their too much to overcome and he's no longer the "safe" "high floor" that he initially was thought to be.

I think you are right. if the TB defense can put pressure on Ryan, then he needs a new crew of fat guys blocking for him.

It's never as good or as bad as you think. I remember the Cowboys got hit with a bunch of losses/injuries/suspension in the preseason and the consensus was that they were going to be the worst defense in NFL history this year. That didn't happen.
The guys on Atlanta's Oline aren't very good. But they are pros and I'm pretty sure they will gel to the point of being serviceable. The Ravens are a nightmare matchup for a team with a bad Oline.
Ryan and especially Julio are huge buy-low guys right now.

The trend is not good. He's on my bench (I also have Wilson) until his O-Line starts looking less amateurish.
What this guy says. They will get it fixed at least for the purpose of fantasy, once the oline gets some experience playing together things will get easier and the points will come.
Agreed. I'd love to get my hands on Julio right now and I'd be willing to take a shot with Ryan if I needed a QB.

I'm an owner in 2 of 3 "bigger" money leagues.
I went WR-WR drafting, and am extremely studly at WR, RB is a slight weakness in one league, and it just so happened I got Matt Ryan in 2 of the 3 leagues.
I was very happy after weeks 3-4, even the slow week 2 didn't bother me.
But this is now starting to become a concern.
3 consecutive weeks with only 1 TD, and everyone is screaming its the O-Line. That may be true, but it just seems like something is off "everywhere" with the Falcons.
Roddy seems to be playing on auto pilot, Julio has looked a bit gimpy, the running game is a mess and now the O-Line is decimated and they have lost another center.
In one league I have picked up Carson Palmer, and in the big league mentioned above, I haven't picked up anyone else yet. (it should be noted, in this league I have Demaryius Thomas and JULIO JONES also ) I only have Tannehill and Roethlisberger to choose from on the wire, and I'm not terribly sold on either.
I am almost 100% going to play Tannehill this week. This London early morning BS could turn out to be a disaster this week.
The only good thing I can see, is many of the matchups after the week 9 bye are either "decent", or have a big possibility of a massive shootout.
I suppose as owners we can only hope it gets better after the bye.
I'm not giving up the ship yet, but I am definitely concerned.

Drafted him in 4/4 money leagues. Looked great at first but now I'm panicking.
Was able to get Brady in one off waivers after his slow start. Just made a trade for Marshall and cam Newton in one. Working on trades in the other two. Full on panic mode for me. His line is such trash right now and I don't see it getting better anytime soon.
Going to stash rg3 in the other two for next week if I can't get any trades done.

No team would have success after losing the number of linemen the Falcons have lost this season. My hope is that they have been able to coach up the replacements and get healthy enough to give Ryan time to throw to Roddy and Julio.

The fact that he has about 1 second to get rid of the ball has totally neutralized what I had hoped for in Hester being their Robert Meachem. There is no fear of deep passes because even the worst of defenses can run over the 4 fat guys they pulled out of the local tavern and stuck in front of Ryan.
It would be a miracle if Meathead was able to coach up these guys. Starting Ryan and hoping he doesn't get hurt when one of these swinging gates lets an NFL D-lineman past.
