This guy’s so good, and expected to be so good, that he casually threw 5 TDs week one and no one even commented on it in here
Patrick Mahomes completed 29-of-43 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns in the Chiefs' 30-29, Week 5 win over the Raiders Monday night.
Kansas City got off to a really slow start, falling into a 17-0 hole midway through the second quarter. Mahomes eventually found Travis Kelce from the one-yard line in the second frame to pull within 20-10 at the half. Mahomes ended up throwing for close to 200 yards after the break, erasing the deficit entirely while throwing three more touchdowns to Kelce, totaling four on the night between the duo. Mahomes leads the league with 15 touchdown passes, and he and second-placed Josh Allen (14) will square off at Arrowhead next Sunday in an AFC Divisional Round rematch for the ages. Mahomes is an obvious elite QB1.

Patrick Mahomes completed 25-of-40 pass attempts for 338 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Chiefs' 24-20 Week 6 loss to the Bills.
Mahomes had a mostly uneven performance against a Buffalo defense that refused to blitz and still provided consistent pressure, sacking Mahomes three times. He connected with JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman for touchdowns, and JuJu was the team's primary target while the Bills made every effort to slow down Travis Kelce. It's a tough, possibly season-altering home loss for the Chiefs, though Mahomes remains the game's most inventive, unflappable quarterback. He'll remain an elite fantasy option in Week 7 against 49ers.

Patrick Mahomes completed 25-of-34 pass attempts for 423 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in the Chiefs Week 7 win against the 49ers.
Mahomes overcome a slow start before picking apart an injury-marred San Francisco coverage unit that was so intent on stopping Travis Kelce that they often left Mahomes' receivers wide open. Both Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu Smith-Schuster went over the 100-yard mark against what has become one of the NFL's most porous secondaries. Mahomes hit Smith-Schuster for a 45-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the fourth quarter -- a score that put the game out of reach. Seven Kansas City pass catchers had at least one reception against the 49ers. Mahomes takes on the Titans in Week 9 following KC's Week 8 bye.

Patrick Mahomes completed 26-of-35 passes for 331 yards, four touchdowns, and an interception in the Chiefs' 27-17, Week 10 win over the Jaguars.
Other than a slightly misplaced pass that was intercepted by Jags safety Andre Cisco, it was a flawless day from Mahomes. He added 39 yards on seven carries on the ground and wasn't sacked once. Had the Jags' offense put up more of a fight, it could have been an even better day from a fantasy perspective. Kadarius Toney got on the field more this week and Mahomes appeared to have an immediate connection with the speedster. He threw Toney's first career touchdown grab on Kansas City's second drive of the day. Expect the Mahomes and the Chiefs to stay hot for their Week 11 matchup with the Chargers.

Patrick Mahomes said he suffered a bruised foot in Week 13.
Mahomes came up limping late in the Chiefs' Week 13 loss to the Bengals, but he downplayed the issue on Wednesday. He said he would be able to practice and doesn't anticipate the issue affecting his Week 14 preparation much. Mahomes will remain in the top five fantasy quarterbacks despite a tough matchup with the Broncos this week.

Patrick Mahomes completed 36-of-41 passes for 336 yards and two touchdowns in Kansas City's 30-24, Week 15 win over the Texans, adding five carries for 33 yards and an additional rushing touchdown.
The Chiefs put up 502 total yards to Houston's 223, but a pair of fumbles by Chiefs receivers, a couple of key sacks, 102 yards of penalties, and some missed kicks sent the game to overtime. Mahomes continued to cook against Lovie Smith's defense, generating major yardage and completing every single pass he attempted in the second half and in overtime. He delivered in a big way in the first weekend of the fantasy playoffs for most managers. He'll remain on the QB1 line against the defensively-challenged Seahawks in Week 16.

Not sure if we ALL appreciate what we are witnessing here. Never been to KC or have been a Cheifs supporter. In fact I am a huge Giants homer. However, Mahomes by far is my favorite NFL player.
Patrick Mahomes completed 22-of-30 for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs' 27-20 Divisional Round win against the Jaguars, adding three rushes for eight yards.
Mahomes suffered what appeared to be a serious ankle injury in the first quarter. He could hardly walk on his right leg and was eventually forced to the locker room. Chad Henne played the second quarter before a gimpy Mahomes returned and managed the game well enough for the Chiefs to win and advance to their fifth straight AFC Championship game. Clearly not himself, Mahomes mostly checked down in the second half. He hopped on his good leg to throw over linemen for a short fourth quarter touchdown to Marques Valdes-Scantling, displaying a level of grit rarely seen in any sport. Now the world's eyes turn to the Chiefs' injury report ahead of the AFC title game. Mahomes likely won't practice until late in the week.

Being reported as a high ankle sprain.Based on what I saw of the game, and the injury, I am guessing he has torn ligaments in the ankle.

"It feels better than I thought it was going to be now," Mahomes said after the 27-20 victory that put the Chiefs in the conference title game for the fifth straight season. "Obviously, I have a lot of adrenaline going right now, so we'll see how it feels. But I'll hop right in the treatment and try to do whatever I can to be as close to 100% by next week. Luckily for us, we played the early game on Saturday, so we get an extra almost half a day that I can let that ankle rest."
Chiefs coach Andy Reid noted after Saturday night's game that Mahomes has played through ankle injuries before.
"Let's just see how it goes here the next couple days. It's going to be sore, I know, but let's see where he is at," he said. "He's had this before, and he was able to keep pushing through."
Mahomes injured his ankle in Week 1 of the 2019 season, also against the Jaguars, and didn't miss any time, throwing seven touchdowns and averaging 409 passing yards while leading the Chiefs to victories the next two games, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.
Oh I know - I was just having a laugh. Niners are on and that was the bourbon posting. The linked article just provides a little more information and the quotes are interesting:
"The coach added that Mahomes' ankle injury "isn't quite as bad" as the one he suffered in the 2019 season opener against Jacksonville. Mahomes played the following week against the Raiders that season and threw for 443 yards and 4 TDs in the win."
Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Patrick Mahomes (ankle) will do everything in practice Wednesday.
Reid even noted that he may need to hold Mahomes back for his own good at times. The Chiefs could ultimately list him as a limited participant on their practice report. It sounds like Mahomes' high-ankle sprain won't be a major issue in the AFC Championship, though it's fair to say it will still limit his mobility in some capacity. Still, a practice, either limited or full, to start the week is a great outcome for Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Doesn't surprise me. Only surprises me a little because everyone else thought he'd be in such bad condition.Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Patrick Mahomes (ankle) will do everything in practice Wednesday.

Patrick Mahomes (ankle) said he's doing better than expected after logging a full practice on Wednesday.
Mahomes said on Wednesday that he felt better than he thought he would after Saturday's Divisional Round win over the Jaguars and that he's "continued to feel better throughout the week." Mahomes reportedly looked unbothered by his injury on the practice field and didn't appear to have a limp when leaving the stage following Wednesday's press conference. A dinged-up Mahomes may not be as limited in Sunday's AFC Championship game as initially expected, which could spell bad news for Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
