Yes. Their WR usage is baffling, and not in the good "fool the defense" kind of way. Let this guy loose.Rice may be their best WR but he needs reps
Probably Reid centered but Nagy is a downgrade from EB.Has this offense become too Nagy-fied to be effective?
They failed, I agree, but not due to lack of effort. Rice looks like a good pick in round 2 in what appears to be a relatively weak WR draft class. Moore seems like another round 2 receiver that could be something with development. Toney looks great with the ball in his hands but has the football IQ of a rock. They're not going to win throwing to Watson and MVS with them dropping passes, so why keep them in there? They will drop important passes in the playoffs, just like the regular season, that's what they do and a bad drop in January can send you home.As another poster smartly pointed out in the game thread, this is circa 2006 when Hoodie left Brady to figure things out with Reche Caldwell being hiThis team is in trouble this year. Their WRs can't catch. Mahomes did Mahomes things last night but his WRs let him down, again. Does anyone really think this is going to change? Rice may be their best WR but he needs reps. This team may need to spend a first rounder on a WR next season and should aggressively pursue someone like Tee Higgins in FA.stop WR.
Reid and Veach failed to address it, and the results are obvious. They have a top D and it's going to be wasted by this dreadful decision.
I don't really see a problem with play-calling, but outside of the drops on the final drive, Watson had a couple place where he simply went to the wrong place on the field for the play called. MVS had another deep pass where he got all turned around and let the ball hit the ground where he had a defender beat, again killing a drive. I just don't see the point of having these guys in the game. They're not executing. Rep allocation appears questionable, but I say that from the outside looking in having no idea what really goes on W-Sa each week.Probably Reid centered but Nagy is a downgrade from EB.Has this offense become too Nagy-fied to be effective?
Agreed. It's the personnel usage that's on Nagy and Reid, not play calling.I don't really see a problem with play-calling,
Following up on thisGuy above had the nerve to say I TOLD YA SO after one good game in 7 weeks. Today he looked AWFUL.He's had 1 good week, that's it.How about 9 pts vs denver? So am II'm waitingWatch what he does with his schedule the next 2 months...........I don't know why people are laughing at my post. He's obviously still the best QB in football but he's no longer a fantasy stud. 1st qb taken in 2nd round and he's 8th qb is not good.

true. the effort was there.hey failed, I agree, but not due to lack of effort.
Moore and Rice can actually catch. Toney is hard to get on the ground with the ball in his hands. Why not just throw Moore and Rice on the outside with Toney in the slot running quick outs, screens, end arounds and drags? Let them try to get on the same page as Mahomes and better understand how NFL defenses function and attack their strengths and weaknesses. It can't be worse than guys flat dropping balls. The Chiefs will be a quick out in the playoffs with MVS and Watson on the outside and that's just sad considering they have the best QB in football, maybe the best TE to ever play the game, and a plus RB that can do it all including wear down a defense. If anyone can figure it out and do what's necessary here, it's Andy Reid. Chiefs should have won last night easily, but ended up taking the L, some hard truths are going to have to be acknowledged and addressed in the coming weeks.Agreed. It's the personnel usage that's on Nagy and Reid, not play calling.I don't really see a problem with play-calling,
How long before McKinnon vaults up the reception charts?
you know, at one point in the game Toney had a couple carries in a short period of time and I got to thinking..... geez, he looks a bit like Deebo in terms of how they are using him and that got the wheels spinning. he did seem to show that knack to find the hole when running the football. maybe they should try this out a little more. a Deebo type player could be a very nice addition to this offense and if Toney can improve on the receiving side, you got a poor mans Deebo.Moore and Rice can actually catch. I'm not sure he's durable and/or tough enough for a Deebo role but I see what you're saying. Get the ball in this guy's hands and good things seem to happen. You don't even have to be a decent route runner to do what we're suggesting. Toney reminds me a lot of Percy Harvin.you know, at one point in the game Toney had a couple carries in a short period of time and I got to thinking..... geez, he looks a bit like Deebo in terms of how they are using him and that got the wheels spinning. he did seem to show that knack to find the hole when running the football. maybe they should try this out a little more. a Deebo type player could be a very nice addition to this offense and if Toney can improve on the receiving side, you got a poor mans Deebo.Moore and Rice can actually catch. Toney isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's an athletic freak and an extremely dangerous player with the ball in his hands. Defenses must account for him at all times regardless of his low football IQ. There's a place for him in this offense, but I don't believe he will ever be a true #1. The Percy Harvin comp is pretty good at this stage in his career IMO. Being a gadget player isn't a bad thing if you're only asked to do what you're good at. Toney has strengths, and also a lot of weaknesses.I think Rice is more of their Deebo player. Toney is a total turd. 2 cent head, highly injury prone.....and questionable hands.you know, at one point in the game Toney had a couple carries in a short period of time and I got to thinking..... geez, he looks a bit like Deebo in terms of how they are using him and that got the wheels spinning. he did seem to show that knack to find the hole when running the football. maybe they should try this out a little more. a Deebo type player could be a very nice addition to this offense and if Toney can improve on the receiving side, you got a poor mans Deebo.Moore and Rice can actually catch. If we assume Higgins is re-signed, Tyler Boyd would make a ton of sense.Toney is a total turd. 2 cent head, highly injury prone.....and questionable hands.
The Chiefs will move on from him. Next draft and free agency they gotta address the WR room.
Tee Higgins would be a beast in this offense.
Sutton might fit the bill as well but I'm not sure I like his work ethic and effort. Higgins would be the guy I threw everything at to bring to KC. There is elite talent coming into the NFL in 2024 that should be able to be had at any stage of round 1 or 2. Pick up a solid FA and draft a WR. It has to be done. If Kelce unexpectedly retires, this team is a hot mess on offense unless they shore up their pass catching sitution. They need an X type WR, and Higgins followed by Pittman Jr fit that easily.
They could then draft a quality speed type to stretch the field.
Can the Bengals afford Higgins? I mean, I guess that "can" if needed, but will they want to pay that much to a #2 WR? My bet is he goes elsewhere. Chase is the man there and they're going to have to throw a ton of cash at him, maybe as soon as next season to keep him happy. They can find a Tee replacement in the draft. If we assume Higgins is re-signed, Tyler Boyd would make a ton of sense.Toney is a total turd. 2 cent head, highly injury prone.....and questionable hands.

But legit league winner upside, rather himHe is what he has been... a roster clogger.
Can't start. Can't trade. Can't cut.![]()
On my roster than someone else’s
Precisely why he falls into the Can't Cut category. Still, this situation with wily McDaniel apt to do who knows what any given week is a recipe for extreme. Roster is clogged - can only hope now for some draino soon.
I said they can, but I guess I should have asked whether or not they want to pay him as a #1 which his talent command, especially considering they will have to extend Chase next year if they’re smart, two years if they must? This team has other needs to fill. I don’t believe he stays in Cinci.70 mill in cap space. They are fineCan the Bengals afford Higgins? Saw a stat somewhere that 21% of his incompletions have been drops LOL
Do I consider dropping Mahomes for someone like Stafford or Love.. someone who is playing well.
I'm so torn and I honestly didn't think QB would be a problem spot for me this year. I'm guaranteed play offs but he could end up costing me.
I can see dropping him for LoveDo I consider dropping Mahomes for someone like Stafford or Love.. someone who is playing well.

I traded for Mahomes this week. Other owner also had Tua and was 1-3. Wanted to pounce when Mahomes had an iffy game as he did vs the Jets. Chiefs schedule the next 2 months is ridiculous. All green vs the pass against sieve defenses. Traded Ekeler and Dak for Mahomes and Pacheco. 6 point TD league.
Since this post:Watch what he does with his schedule the next 2 months...........I don't know why people are laughing at my post. He's obviously still the best QB in football but he's no longer a fantasy stud. 1st qb taken in 2nd round and he's 8th qb is not good.
If true why is he ranked higher than Stroud this week? I get it Texans are playing Jets but Tua threw all over them..is it because Jets are at home? If Mahomes has a 21% incompletions are drops that won't suddenly change.Saw a stat somewhere that 21% of his incompletions have been drops LOL
Same and I would say solely the reason I am 4-9 and missing the playoffs for the first time in a LONG time. My first two picks were JJ (missed 7 weeks due to injury) and Mahomes. One of the worst non-injury picks of my career. Still in the play offs on both Mahomes teams, but man I am adding a backup in Dobbs or Browning.
I’ll be targeting him big time. KC will address the weapons issue. Sadly won’t be able to save this season though. Play calling has Alain been an issue. All of their cute plays they used to at the goal line with Kelce/McKinnon etc have not worked this year. Shovel passes. Quick outs etcTerrible fantasy season from this guy. Won't be going early QB in next year's redraft.
Dak has played out of his mind. No question. And Mahomes hasn’tI traded for Mahomes this week. Other owner also had Tua and was 1-3. Not only that I drafted Purdy in the last round and dropped him because I told myself I dont need a backup QB, I have Mahomes. Then I picked up Howell and Stroud as backups in the first few weeks and dropped them as well because I had Mahomes. Just brutal
I hope so. If they actually do this then my position is fluidKC will address the weapons issue.
I’d argue that Mahomes has played at his usual level, but his offensive weapons have let him down.Dak has played out of his mind. No question. And Mahomes hasn’tI traded for Mahomes this week. He has a stud TE and Rice has been really good. Yeah the other guys suck I get it but at what point does the finger not get pointed at him?I think the frustration of not having a wide receiver he can count on is getting to him.
One stud won't get you very far. Listen to guys like Romo who know the game very well, they talk about the drops of course that KC leads the league in but also the terrible routes the receivers run. It's a constant theme in KC games. He has a stud TE and Rice has been really good.
