Give it time. Rice getting more snaps is going to open this thing up. Reid and Mahomes always figure it out. Trade for a WR wouldn't shock me either - they want to win now. ROY schedule is great. KC Defense is the only thing that bugs me a bit from a fantasy perspective - they are pretty good.

LAC, DEN, MIA, PHI, LV , GB , BUF, NE, LV, CIN, LAC is going to be full of points.

Things can change in a hurry. A few injuries on defense as an example and the Chiefs aren’t stopping teams like they are now. Nobody considered them to be an elite D coming in to the year so I’m betting they regress. Different game scripts.

I have to think their play calling tightens up a bit. Gimmicks have been killing drives. They also don’t seem to be running the pick plays especially in the red zone that gets guys wide open in the flat.

I am concerned that they aren’t getting separation deep. Usually they have guys that can stretch the field and get behind safeties. MVS has been invisible in all fronts. Rice looks like a great RAC guy. Kelce is Kelce if he stays healthy. Toney OK for short stuff. Pacheco has been good out of the backfield. McKinnon hasn’t been as good - yet. But they need to get more out of their receivers and the line has to tighten up protection. Seems like Mahomes had more time in the pocket before.

I would just think they get better. But we’ll see

At least last year they replaced Tyreek with Juju and they still had Mecole Hardman. Not saying both guys are great but Juju is still better than the crap KC is rolling out at WR now and at least Hardman had speed and had a few big games. The current KC WRs are probably the worst in the NFL. None of these guys except Rice would even be a WR5 for most teams.

I hear ya, but you can pay 3 guys (Mahomes/Jones/Tyreek ). The salary cap is a thing, but lots of ways around it & it goes up every year.

I think losing Eric B as OC and now having Nagy is a piece of the puzzle as well. B could probably scheme around those WR weaknesses while Nagy has no idea.

Mahomes is only human. Can’t expect him to make chicken salad out of chicken **** every year. It’s especially puzzling since Kelce is getting old. If they don’t fix the WR issue, there’s a decent chance this team loses top-tier status in the next few years, even with Pat & a good D.

My guess is they make a splash in FA. If so, they’re essentially admitting their mistake. On the bright side, they have Mahomes, Kelce, & a top D. They have a chance this season, but I think the lack of weaponry (other than Kelce) will be their downfall.

Saying they have a better chance with Tyreek isn’t a wild take. Common sense says getting rid of the best WR in the league wasn’t a good move, especially when you didn’t get an impact player(s) in return. Only draft picks & cap space (which they could’ve worked around).

I would’ve liked to have been a fly on the wall when Veach & Reid were debating this, LOL. I remember Veach saying it wasn’t an easy decision. Duh. I’m thinking it’s best to just keep a future HoFer, still in his prime, & count your blessings. I know it’s good to always be looking at ways to get an edge in the NFL, but this was a classic case of overanalyzing.

Sure they are still winning but Mahomes has to put team on his back. A guy like Hill helps a QB carry a team. After how the past two years at the wr position has gone it would be interesting if the Chiefs would make trade again. I think behind close doors they may admit a deal could have been done to keep him. Imo

it is ridiculous to call it a "turrible" move.....these are the things that have to be done sometimes and why those guys that make those decisions get paid the big bucks....most definitely Mahomes ability to raise all boats factored in to the decision to let Hill go.....they would have been stupid "not" to factor that in...and that's why Mahomes is getting paid half a billion dollars.....he is expected to deal with things not being "easy"....Hill will make things "easier" for every QB in the league.....but KC could afford to let him go in order to spread the money around and make a stronger overall team....everybody wants to give Mahomes all the credit....but the job the front office has been doing is very underrated....

I don’t pretend to know the details of their cap situation, but they could’ve paid Tyreek & chose not to. That’s not something that’s negotiable. This was a calculated decision that had the cap in mind, but KC figured they could do a good enough job drafting WR replacements given Mahomes’ magic right arm. They’ve failed so far.

You can pay a QB, one WR, & still have some studs on D or however you want to allocate your resources. We know this looking around the league.

It’s not like my take is way out there. Tyreek likely makes them the favorite this year. What top players would KC be without if they had signed him? None is my guess.

Yes, the salary cap is a thing, but I’m curious if KC doesn’t win it this year, do they go out & sign a high-priced WR? Kinda dumb when they had the best one in the world.

I agree with most of what u said. I will say I bet a million dollars the front office had that attitude, but also figured somebody would step up to fill his role. At least a little. The problem is nobody has. Most front offices look good when u have him as your QB.
