In an absolute second, bye week coming I think I’m dropping mahomes

I dealt him this offseason for Nico, Ivan Pace, Justin Herbert, Fant and a couple picks in a SF TEP.
I’d give Mahomes up for Stroud straight up and feel a little guilty about it.
I have Stroud and was wondering how desperate Mahomes owners are. Given the bye week coming up for Mahomes,maybe a better strategy is to trade my backup QB Caleb for an upgrade at RB or WR. The Mahomes team is the only one in my 14-team league without a 2nd QB. His 1 week pickins are Bo Nix or Daniel Jones. Williams is trending up.
Mahomes was the 3rd QB drafted, Stroud 6th. I didn't realize how far Mahomes had fallen.

They would look great as Deshaun Watson.
Kelce got a little older.
Worthy is a skinnier Hardman.
Juju handed a TD to a DL.
Rice got hurt.
They have zero talent in their WR room.

They are 5-0.
They have refined a methodology of winning, so I give him credit.
I just dont think this time they'll be able to turn it back on in the playoffs when they need points.
What happened to him specifically....Tampa 2 has been tough to beat deep, complicated offense in terms of breaks and where guys sit down, etc, plenty of WR have fizzled under Reid in not having that processing. Go back to Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell, Skyy Moore, Hardman.

His defense got really really good and his receivers have left him gun shy at times. And the fact that he has been a turnover machine this year has led him to have a slow trigger.
I give him credit for actually adjusting to what the team actually is now. Defense first - offense don't screw it up. Pretty good formula for this stage of his career and he adjusted. But when they need him to do what he does, I think it will be there.
But I don't mind this approach for now. Terrible for fantasy football but as a fan of the game I love how he is setting his ego aside and doing what's best to win games.

He's morphed into a brady mode. Patrick Mahomes if he retires this morning is a first ballot HOFer. He will be the biggest star in the NFL for as long as he graces us with his presence. He is concerned with winning. Thats real life, thats all good.
Net net.. fantasy death. Blake Bortles and Jameis Winston slinging like drunken sailors are better for our purposes than Mahomes

The line is better at run blocking than pass blocking right now. He’s always scrambling. And with their D they never have shootout scripts

Sure am glad I didn't fall for the draft a QB high strategy and go Mahomes again (I learned my lesson last year). His numbers have been incredibly pedestrian. I waiting until late for Daniels and it's paying off big time.
things just happen sometimes in fantasy......Mahomes can still make all the throws like he did when he went 5000-50....and in the preseason you could justify him being taken as a top 5 QB with what they had....would have been scary

they simply don't need to try and outscore people anymore in shootouts....what really hurts is the Chiefs propensity to get all tricky inside the 10....as a KC fan it's almost cringe worthy sometimes as they seriously seem to overthink things once in the red zone...I mean if Juju hangs on to one and the the Kelce taking the snap play is a Mahomes TD....we aren't really having this discussion as it 300+ and two....I'd consider buying low as they should bring somebody in and things should start to correct themselves....

In the Fantasy Football Index poll of 20 experts, Mahomes was 3rd after Allen & Hurts, just ahead of Lamar, Stroud, and Burrow. Nobody had Mahomes lower than 4th. You have good company!
You’re right on point. Allen went at the top of the 3rd. I took Mahomes in the middle, and Hurts went at the end of the 3rd.
The KC defense is really good in real football, but not in fantasy. 55 sacks 2 years in a row... not in 2024.
They need to trade for 2 WRs at this point. Go get DJ and DHop.x.com

Weird, I assume its because he’s the QB for the only remaining undefeated team regardless of his performance. Plus the name recognition. Although LJax is one of the other betting favorites who Mahomes beat. Bills & KC face-off in about a month, likely will have MVP implications. Goff is probably creeping up there. Baker maybe in the mix depending on what happens tonight

The Trent Dilfer comparisons shouldn’t be ridiculed. He’s averaging 231 yards a game. 1 TD. (6 all year). 1.3 INT’s a game (8). 82.5 QBR. He’s a game manager who throws more picks than TD’s. He’s not been good and nobody should be making excuses for him. The fact that they have a great defense shouldn’t impact his efficiency on offense

You know what’s impacting his efficiency on offense? Hardman, Moore, Watson, and Worthy being his top WRs. That’s just gross. Mahomes is a great player, but even he needs some talent around him.

Had high hopes for Mahomes this year, bummer we do not get to see this offense with a full complement of weapons. Obviously need to find some better depth, Skyy Moore is not an NFL-caliber receiver.
Standing in the way of matching the
undefeated season are the usual suspects: BAL & BUF. Plus a new one, DET. Who's the Mahomes backup, Wentz ... hold my champaign.

Yeah agree.
The one thing I see from him for sure is his hesitation. He's trying to just not let the ball fly like he used to because I'm not sure he trusts the guy on the other end. And some of those picks he's thrown - in my opinion - is that he gets frustrated and then starts taking chances.
Consequently as each week goes by, he's hesitating more and more and just eating more balls
than normal. At the same time he is definitely recognizing he doesn't have to be superman with the defense that he has.And when he needs to be superman, he still can and will.

Jameis Winston wasn't even active yesterday and he outscored them both. Fantasy is such a silly game isn't it
Just saw that Aidan O’Connell is the last dude to beat Pat. They have won 13 straight if you include the 3 playoff wins. During these wins the Chiefs have not scored more than 28 points. Heck they have been in the teens during many of these wins. I found that even more interesting than their winning streak.

At some point(s) this season, the Chiefs will need Mahomie to make a play Diffler could only dream about in order to win a big game. And Kerms will for sure make the play.

This is easily one of the most ignorant things (and way more than that but I can't say it), that I have literally ever read on here in 20 years. Actually, anywhere. I wanted to crack up at first, but It's not even laughable it's so bad. You wonder, how can someone that follows football talk himself into thinking and making such an unbelievably ridiculous argument / opinion. His backup being some selective stats, lofl. Um, this isn't baseball buddy.

BTW, I can't stand the Chiefs but it's not too hard for me to admit Mahomes is already one of the greats.

Dynasty .. I have Mahomes and JDaniels. I have been offered KMurray and something for Mahomes .. call me intrigued but the other owner hasn't committed to the other piece. If I could get Godwin added, I may have to think on it.
