Gonna slice and dice the Bucs.
The week before Cousins ripped em for 500 yards Hurts struggled. Nix didn't throw a TD pass before that. Goff didn't throw a TD pass before that. Rattler is gonna dice em? Let's circle back on this. Ha haGonna slice and dice the Bucs.

He looked fairly good in the first half with their scripted plays. Then Bowles kind of went into his bag of tricks to confuse him.So what do we make of his first start? What little I saw on Redzone was a mix of good and bad.
At one point mid-second quarter, Rattler was 10 of 13 with one TD pass.He looked fairly good in the first half with their scripted plays. Then Bowles kind of went into his bag of tricks to confuse him.
new band nameRattler Bub Means
Somehow when the smoke cleared in one of my dynasty's waivers last night, I ended up with that very stack. Was hoping to see a Rattler Bub Means stack by week 1 2025. This is a little too early maybe but fun nevertheless.
Not the set of weapons you wanna provide your rookie QB. Kamara could go for 10 receptions tonight.Looking like a rough night for Spencer with all the injuries NO has.
Kamara could easily have 12 catchesLooking like a rough night for Spencer with all the injuries NO has.
Spencer Rattler completed 25-of-35 passes for 172 yards in the Saints’ 33-10, Week 7 loss to the Broncos, also losing two fumbles.
Rattler’s second fumble was really more of a pick-six where he coughed the ball up into the air under pressure. He was lucky it wasn’t his second fumble-six of the evening, as he had an earlier one called back by an offsides penalty. Rattler was hit while throwing on his first cough up. That one thankfully didn’t result in a Broncos house call. That was the only good news of the night for an overmatched rookie who took a seat late and watched Jake Haener promptly lead a touchdown drive. Rattler’s supporting cast made for a hopeless situation, but he failed to overcome it to the degree that it’s fair to wonder if Haener gets the call in Week 8 against the Chargers if Derek Carr isn’t ready to return. More than anything, Rattler was making really poor reads.

lol, I was like what did he do… put them through the Cool Runnings freezer routine?
Kamara and the improved scheme deserve most of that credit, Carr maybe a little but but that guy throws hospital balls constantly which doesn't help.I kind of want to give a day 3 rookie playing with backups at every single position a bit of a pass, but man that was atrocious. I'm always thought of Rattler as a long-term backup level prospect, like a Minshew type, but considering GB was also out multiple starting DBs, a shut out looks rough.
I kinda wonder if maybe Derek Carr hasn't gotten enough credit for how competent the Saints offense has looked for most of this season.
Rattler prob not great but it's an impossible task to for a rookie QB to play against a good D w/ as you say backups at every positionI kind of want to give a day 3 rookie playing with backups at every single position a bit of a pass, but man that was atrocious. I read the first sentence and mouth was open. I read the second and laughter came out the open mouthRattler is the Saints best hope for turning this franchise around. He has that 'it' factor that can secure the Saints the number 1 pick in 2026.
Nice play-by-play, just need a color commentary guy.I read the first sentence and mouth was open. I read the second and laughter came out the open mouthRattler is the Saints best hope for turning this franchise around. He has that 'it' factor that can secure the Saints the number 1 pick in 2026.
Do some really think this?Just stop pretending they're gonna start for your FF team and comparing them to Herbert or Burrow or whoever. They are what they are. Today that's a real good wth draft choice for FF
Winston back in NO would be great.Kinda think the Saints add a veteran of note. I'd be really surprised if they just went with Shough/Rattler/Haener.
Maybe whomever loses the Pickett/Flacco competition? Moore has Pickett ties. Maybe Wentz? Jameis would make sense if NY cuts him (if they view Dart as ready to be the #2 right away) but I don't know if they'd have a reunion with a new staff.
I don't see them bringing in Rodgers, or trading for Cousins, thinking someone how could start, but not necessarily would be handed the job. O'Connell maybe?
Ross Tucker Podcast
“If it’s a true quarterback competition I firmly believe Spencer Rattler will win that job because he's the better player.”
@FBallGameplan doesn’t think Tyler Shough is the best QB on the Saints roster currently:
Now here's a guy that was a little confused at first but stuck with the play and ended up in the endzone of hilarity.Nice play-by-play, just need a color commentary guy.I read the first sentence and mouth was open. Situation to watch for sure. His relative lack of mobility was a really bad combination behind that banged up OL. Wonder what he took from that experience. What did he learn?
Kellen Moore needs to NOT have easy practices if he's going to find his QB.
I've said earlier that I like that this kid learns. I have a major problem with him throwing to the same route in the same spot the very next play and repeating an INT but after that, he really does genuinely obviously learn.
I'm rarely right on young QBs especially since Eli's atrocious rookie year. The only thing I'm right on is "it factor" and learning.
He has my radar up.
Mind you I didn't even have him last year and he's at the end of a big dynasty roster with two clear starters ahead of him so I have about nothing invested and no risk.

Cosell raved about Shough. Raved! He's not often wrong and what he had to say after the praise was that Shough needed some seasoning and wasn't quite ready. He's maybe not getting that time to develop and that's an issue.
I am planning to draft Shough this coming weekend and haven't noticed him once going at his ADP. Definitely after.
What's my investment gonna be? A second or third and a WW pickup? The ROI will be thru the roof so I'm very comfortable with this process.
Some people are not being true to life or realistic or some word.
You would be thrilled if you get a starter where these two are going.
Just stop pretending they're gonna start for your FF team and comparing them to Herbert or Burrow or whoever. They are what they are. Today that's a real good wth draft choice for FF
Definitely a contender for the number one pick overall next year.Rattler is currently the QB1 heading into camp
Very interesting. He was often under siege his senior year for sure.Interesting radio bit where coach talked about Rattler being told to essentially be fearless and throw it anyway last year.
Moore seems genuinely fascinated by the concept and the progress he made.
(Idk how I'd feel if I'm a saints fan and wanting to win games)
He explained how in the QB room Rattler is so above and beyond where he would have been had he just played the game.
Host said bad decisions, make em!
And they laughed but Moore explained there is an enormous difference from his college tape and rebuilding the mental part of his game was their goal.
Could Rattler be a fine QB? Sure. Will the Saints be any good? Doubtful. They have a ton of rebuilding to do.Last year's checklist included, but not exclusively:
- Lame duck coaching and game plan
- Low expectations per draft capital and college fall from grace
- First team practice reps with Carr around = none
- OL lacking healthy players and talent
- No Kamara for run support
- Pre-season level starting WRs as Olave and Shaheed were done for the year
All a set-up for failure of a year for the rook.
Fantasy football players looking at stat line: Wow, he completely sucks!
Those knowing / watching the situation: Not as bad as they are saying.
Media and fans remembered / hated his QB1 TV showing as a bad teammate and extremely entitled personality, but also loved his Arizona state all-time leader in passing / arm strength.
Future: history looking back later on NFL career stat tracking = He's what his stats say he is.
Hoping for a better cast and crew this time around. Wins may not be there though.
Still intrigued by that arm of his.
Has Shough signed?Rattler got the WRs together for a workout.
I'm not sure if Shough has the keys. Everyone seems to think he does but Rattler has done the dishes and waxed the car and took out the garbage
I don't think so. He's lookiing for guaranteed money.Has Shough signed?Rattler got the WRs together for a workout.
