QB Tom Brady, Retired (1 Viewer)

How do two multi millionaires divorce quicker than closing on a $300,000 house?

Well done to both of them, but really, how did that happen

prenup and been in the works much longer than reported?

Still pretty quick though. Quicker than his release these days.

Both kept their own money. Agreed upon custody and visitation pretty quickly. Both have a lot of money so the lawyers banged this out real quick for them.

I don't know something seems up with him this year. I don't know if he doesn't look as focused or as passionate...much like ROdgers he just kind of looks like he is ready to hang them up

I wonder if he was able to be the one to announce his retirement this past offseason instead of what seemed like a strange leak if he would've actually stayed retired.

First: the O-line has not been good, can't open up any running lanes, allowing pressure all the time
Not a good formula when your QB is not the most agile being 45, play action is non existent with no running game
That is a big thing with Brady.

Second: His receivers have been dropping balls all over the place, every game.

Tom Brady completed 36-of-58 passes for 280 yards and one touchdown in the Bucs' 16-13, Week 9 win over the Rams.

Brady was averaging a pitiful 4.3 YPA with no touchdowns until the Bucs got the ball back with 44 seconds left in the fourth quarter, down 13-9. Brady marched the offense right down the field with easy throws against the Rams' soft prevent defense, throwing for 54 yards and the game-winning one-yarder to Cade Otton with nine ticks left on the clock. It was a rare glimpse of vintage Brady in 2022. Perhaps it can propel the Bucs forward over the second half of the year, but this was going to be another ugly loss until Los Angeles gift-wrapped it back to Tampa. Brady gets a date with the Seahawks in Munich, Germany next Sunday at 9:30 AM ET. He's still not a playable QB1 in fantasy.

Tom Brady completed 22-of-29 passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the Bucs' 21-16, Week 10 win over the Seahawks.

Brady made a handful of impressive throws in this game, but his day will be remembered for a far less flattering reason. Lined up as a receiver for a direct snap to Leonard Fournette, Brady was seemingly left open and Fournette heaved the ball in his direction. While tracking the pass, Brady tripped and Tariq Woolen intercepted the pass. After the play, Brady was penalized for tripping Woolen. Later in the game, Brady was also intercepted, ending his streak of throws without an interception at 399. The Bucs' offense didn't put up a ton of points, but this was one of their best performances of the year by the eye test and by total yards. Brady and company will look to stay hot versus the Browns following their Week 11 bye.

Am I crazy for continuing to hold him on my bench when one of the teams I’m fighting for a playoff spot is starting the likes of Carr?

Just wait and see, Home-slice. Mr. fancy pants looking up all the numbers. LOL

I'm telling you, last week was just the beginning of the warming up. Touch Down Tommy is all divorced up and ready to go with this receivers getting healthy and the D turnin' the screws.

If only Tampa could play a team traveling 5,000+ miles and playing at the equivalent of 6:30 AM every game. Look, the Bucs could play better getting some receivers and lineman back healthier. They may even win 5 or 6 games the rest of the way. But Tom has a long way to go to get back into the top tier of fantasy QB's. He's had 0 or 1 TD passes in 8 of Tampa's first 10 games this year. The Bucs are only averaging 18 points a game. The Tampa offense has scored only 16 TD in 10 games. By comparison, the non-existent NE offense has scored 18 times in 9 games. The Tampa offense will have to make huge strides for TB12 to be a fantasy difference maker down the stretch.

Lol he’s been crapping on Tom since he left his beloved Patriots. That 2020 title after he spent the off-season saying he was washed up didn’t go down easily I imagine.

Say what you want, but the numbers are the numbers. In the last half of the 2019 season, Brady had 11 TD in 8 games, had only one game over 300 yards passing, and ranked as the #29 fantasy QB in that time. This year, he's had 12 TD passes in 10 games and ranks as the #19 fantasy QB. I am providing no opinion on Brady, just noting his numbers. And I mentioned at this point last year he was the #1 fantasy QB at this point last year. If you want to call that "crapping on Tom," so be it.

Yes. Lot of changes to the offensive personnel and Bowles/Leftwich aren't doint this team any favors. Tom is a pro and he committed, but damn it's rough to watch this offense right now. Abysmal.

Tom Brady completed 36-of-54 attempts for 281 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Buccaneers' 17-16, Week 13 win over the Saints.

The late game winning drive was the 44th such occurrence of Tom Brady's career, which broke a tie with Peyton Manning for the most in NFL history. It was also only the second time that Brady has led a come from behind victory after trailing by 13 or more points in the fourth quarter, the first of which came in Super Bowl LI against the Falcons. Brady and the Buccaneers were bottled up for most of the evening, managing a meager three points prior to touchdowns on their final two possessions of the game to cap the comeback win. Brady hooked up with rookie tight end Cade Otton with three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter before tossing a touchdown to Chris Godwin with 19 seconds remaining, which would be called back for offensive holding. After chipping away at the lost yardage, Brady would connect with rookie running back Rachaad White with just three seconds remaining to sink the Saints. The Buccaneers head to their bye week in control of the NFC South and will return to play in Week 15 on the road in San Francisco.

One of the amazing/frustrating things about the NFL is how a team can hold the other team to three points for 57 minutes and then go belly up and give up two TDs.
Protecting a lead too often results in a team going passive on offense and defense and losing the fire that was responsible for them having the lead.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports "all options are on the table" for Tom Brady in the 2023 season.

Rapoport isn't giving us much to work with here, but it is worth noting that Brady isn't set on retiring after the 2022 season. He announced his retirement in February only to return to the Bucs just 40 days later. The 45-year-old passer has Tampa Bay poised for another playoff berth, though the team looks much weaker this year than they have in Brady's two previous seasons as a Buc. Brady is a free agent at the end of the year, meaning there will be an all-time courting from numerous teams to gain his services. We will learn more about Brady's future plans after Tampa Bay's postseason comes to an end.

Tom Brady completed 34-of-55 passes for 253 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the Bucs' 35-7, Week 14 loss to the 49ers.

Brady averaged just 4.6 yards per attempt in what amounted to a dismal new low in the Bucs' increasingly-disastrous season. Things might have been different had a few penalty calls gone the Bucs' way. Brady had a 68-yard scoring strike to Mike Evans called back by holding, while a late first half Bucs interception was wiped out and the Niners took advantage by going up 28-0 heading into the break. But those bad breaks couldn't camouflage the fact that Brady simply appeared worn out in his first two-INT performance of the year, one in which his deep ball was looking on its last legs. The rain surely didn't help, but the reasons for optimism about this offense are almost nonexistent right now. The Bengals aren't an appealing Week 15 matchup.

Tom Brady completed 30-of-44 attempts for 312 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions in the Bucs' Week 15 loss to the Bengals.

Brady and the Bucs were in control in the first half. They used play action far more than they have at any point this season and kept the Bengals defense off balance, helping Tampa wideouts create consistent separation and leaving the pocket clean for Brady. The Bucs curiously abandoned the heavy play action usage in the second half and the Bengals swamped Brady with consistent pressure. His passes were tipped and thrown off course, leading to two picks in a dominant second half performance by the Cincy defense. Without an effective running back, the Bucs should lean into the pass, as they did in 2020 and 2021. Hopefully for Brady and the Bucs pass catchers' fantasy prospects, they do just that in Week 16 against the pass-funnel Cardinals. Brady will be a top-12 option against Arizona.

Anyone else feel like all these "miracle finishes" lately are a set-up to make the movie more believable?

Is there any doubt that we will see a weekly 17-16 last second victory from now to Feb? He'll probably show up the flag football game in Vegas and win that too.

Ha - he’s not winning anything this year. The team is a mess.
